The Sibyl

Item #: SCP-XXXX (to be assigned)
Referring to it in-draft as SCP-TS01

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-TS01 is to remain in a Standard Humanoid Containment Unit at all times within a crib no smaller than .7 x 1.3 meters, observed by no less than two (2) cameras and equipped with at least three (3) working mid-range shock devices. Every eight hours, SCP-TS01 is to be provided with a single adult member of the species Rattus norvegicus domestica1, weighing no less than 400 grams for consumption. Retrieved corpses of objects used for feeding have been been invariably totally intact and deemed safe for consumption by other contained SCP subjects.
All personnel interacting with SCP-TS01 in any physical capacity are required to wear a full-body T4-Biohazard suit. Removal of any portion of the suit while within SCP-TS01's containment chamber will result in the immediate electrocution of the offending personnel, after which they will be removed, detained for questioning, and possibly disciplined or terminated, depending on the severity of the circumstances.
Any personnel making direct skin contact with SCP-TS01 will be immediately terminated.

Description:
SCP-TS01 appears to be a sleeping human male child of no more than 1 month of biological age. The entity appears to be malnourished and shows classic symptoms of advanced hypothermia, even in warm external conditions. However, it does not appear to suffer any ill effects from its symptoms. SCP-TS01 does not need sustenance in any sort of the traditional sense. However, it does appear to feed on sources of heat, which it extracts through physical contact with the source. See Addenum 01 for more details.

Discovery: SCP TS01 was found on April 15, 20██, after the birth of an anomalous child was reported in ██████, ████████. Upon arrival on the scene, agents discovered that the supposed parents had died in childbirth, as well as the attending doctor and nurses. Post-mortem examinations indicated that all victims had been killed by suffocation and extensive damage to the esophagus.

Addenum 01: Test Logs of SCP-TS01

Test 001 - 08/23/20██

Subject: One (1) live adult male Rattus norvegicus domestica.
Procedure: Subject was placed in chamber with the SCP.
Results: After 15 minutes, SCP-TS01 latched onto the subject. Subject vocalized distress calls and showed symptoms of advanced hypothermia for about 2 minutes before its expiration. The remains were removed without incident.

Test 002 - 08/29/20██

Subject: One (1) 250-watt florescent heat lamp.
Procedure: The lamp was pointed at the SCP and activated.
Results: SCP-TS01 showed signs of extreme discomfort. The lamp was immediately deactivated and testing ended.

Test 003 - 09/02/20██

Subject: One (1) live adult male Pan troglodytes.2
Procedure: Subject was placed in chamber with the SCP.
Results: Subject immediately approached SCP-TS01 and picked it up, cradling it as though it were an infant of the same species. The subject then began to show symptoms of advanced hypothermia for about 10 minutes before its expiration. The subject did not show signs of being aware of such symptoms. The remains were removed without incident.

Test 004 - 09/08/20██

Subject: One (1) live adult male Pan troglodytes, blind.
Procedure: Subject was placed in chamber with the SCP.
Results: Subject remained at a distance from SCP-TS01, and showed no intention to approach.

Test terminated after 1 hour.

Test 005 - 09/13/20██

Subject: One (1) live adult female D-Class Personnel. Subject was due for termination the following morning.
Procedure: Subject was placed in chamber with the SCP.
Results: Subject immediately approached SCP-TS01 and picked it up, cradling it as though it were an infant of the same species and making vocalizations with the intent to comfort the SCP. The subject then began to show symptoms of advanced hypothermia for about 1 hour before its expiration. The subject did not show signs of being aware of such symptoms. As the remains were removed, researchers observed a layer of opaque ice formed over the subject.

Addenum 02: Incident TS01a
On September 17, 20██, at 14:03 UTC, an anomalous entity hereafter designated as SCP-TS01a escaped the confinement chamber, resulting in the loss of 2 researchers and 10 staff before it could be subdued. Witnesses noted that while the entity bore resemblances to SCP-TS01, there were notable differences, including:

  • Motor skills equivalent of a fully grown adult male.
  • Large fangs sprouting from the upper jaw.
  • Large moth-like wings sprouting from the upper back.
  • Open eyes.

After subduing the entity, most of these features retracted back into the entity's body.

Analysis of corpses revealed that death had likely occurred due to asphyxiation due to the removal of the esophagus of the victims.

Further testing into the nature of SCP-TS01 has been suspended, pending further review.
