Item #: SCP-7623
Object Class: Thaumiel
**Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7623 cannot be contained at this time. All attempts have been met with only incident and disaster. As of this time, only O5 personnel may authorize exploration of SCP-7623. However, a perimeter has been guarded roughly 1 km from the site location on all sides, preventing stray planes and boats from reaching that area.
Description: SCP-7623 appears to be a massive 30km x 4km floating structure appearing similar to a ship, roughly larger than the city of Manhattan. The ship's details are yet to be seen, as it is constantly shrouded by swirling clouds that take the form of a constant hurricane. It is located at the [REDACTED] part of the [REDACTED] Atlantic Ocean, in an area of sea known as the [REDACTED] [REDACTED]. It seems to be unmoving at this time, though periodically changes direction for unknown reasons.
Anomalous properties are not clear until one gets closer. It has been noted that the closer one gets to SCP-7623, the slower time is, and multiplies the closer one moves into the hurricane clouds. These clouds appear to be moving fast winds, however it has no effect on planes or boats. Tests have been careful, but at approximately 500 meters away from 7623, roughly 580 years will pass in a given hour. However, this rate fluctuates tremendously.
While close to SCP-7623, transmissions are often sent, with very ominous messages (see Addendum 7623-B). Also, hurricane winds somehow cause an ocean current that pushes material from the center location of SCP-7623 (see Addendum 7623-C).
Addendum 7623-A: Experimentation Log
Two D-Class personnel, D-8745 and 8746, were sent via large boat into SCP-7623's storm, with 10 years worth of supplies. The boat returned 24 hours later from the ocean current, and four bodies were inside. Due to the smaller skeletal bodies, it is assumed they had children, and starved from the large amount of time. Carbon dating put the bodies as old as 300 years.
Addendum 7623-B: Scanners have picked up strange scrambled messages from the storm, which are shown below:
"SPVUJOF NBJOUFOBODF DIFDL DPNQMFUF."
"UFNQPSBM XBSQ DVSSFOUMZ BDUJWF."
"FTUJNBUFE SF-BDTJWBUJPO UJNF: 16 ZFBST"
Hint: B=A
Addendum 7623-C:
On a day of observation, researchers came across an interesting discovery from the waves of water leaving the hurricane of SCP-7623. Live trilobites were seen swimming, as well as a 150 foot long megalodon. Based on the day trilobites went extinct, it can be assumed that SCP-7623 is 250 million years old, at least
