Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be contained at it's own containment area located at the baltic sea. All organisms other than authorized security and research personnel must be stopped from entering or leaving from SCP-XXXX. If any organism is seen entering or leaving SCP-XXXX, they must be terminated, contained, or be administered class B amnestic. Authorization may be permitted by no one under class-4 classification.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a complex water-filled underground cave system in the Baltic sea 78 kilometers off the coast of Poland. So far, the only entrance to SCP-XXXX is a 19,2 meters long and 21,3 meters wide large cave.1 SCP-XXXXs depth is currently unknown.
6 Personnel have been sent onto the Baltic sea due to a massive amounts of sightings of multiple entities in the distance and at shore. After five days of active searching the squad found a large cave entrance not written down, mapped or seen before.
After discovery and several exploration dives, contact with the squad suddenly stopped. No personnel in the squad responded to the radio of the boat Another squad of 8 personnel was sent, and after a day, contact with the second squad was lost.
A small amount of time after a reinforced squad was sent, exploration squad one's Commander Nickolas was recovered from the shore of Norway. Nickolas was extremely malnourished, dehydrated, and suffering from moderate hypothermia.
A recovery squad with 22 personnel was sent with multiple ships was sent to recover the divers. All but five divers' equipment and/or remains were found. The Captain of the first squad, Captain Charles was not found, and all was left of him was his diving helmet and a broken carry-radio found at a coral reef. Private Martin was found dead with a lost leg and two lost hands completely stuck into a chunk of kelp.
Private Jameson was wounded and recovered from an air pocket, but had died due to bloodloss before the recovery squad reached the surface. Dr. Ellen was found drowned 140 meters off of the entrance near the surface of the water, having massive physical trauma in her face.
The second squads captain, Captain Matts' body was found near the entrance with physical trauma and bite marks in the torso. Commander Lance was found at the bottom with his chest pierced by a long sharp object. Private Finn was found floating on the surface of the water with his head completely missing. Private Jennys right hand was found floating in the water at the surface. SCP-XXXX-1 was restricted from the public and put under foundation research after the loss of 12 personnel.
These are commander Nickolas's notes written in the five day period when the first exploration squad were doing research on SCP-XXXX.
Me and Martin were doing some diving inside the caverns at the first dive, I saw something move in the distance, I swear to god. It looked like a giant snake. It was probably just my mind and my paranoid brain, but still, I swear to god. Good way to start this trip right?
This place… it's so colorful. It's probably full of abominations that want to rip us apart, but it's looks are so deceiving it makes me want to think this place is just like the rest of this beautiful world. But this is not the same. This place has something really off.
Today, Finn was exploring some caverns, and he found found this very bizarre field full of these giant glowing mushrooms, and he said that he heard his mother's voice. His MOTHERS voice!! He said the voice said something like "come here…" and "son… come here…" and, that's really bizarre because his mother definitely wouldn't be in a water-filled cave system.
If something were to happen to me and the others, quote me on this, this place, is a fucking color show. It's most likely a fucking deadly color show, but it is really colorful. And shiny. Blue and green and pink and purple and red everywhere, but the place is still somehow so dark we need floodlights. It's like this isn't normal water, the light doesn't seem to travel at all.
Martin is fucking gone. Some shark looking thing came and grabbed him. I heard his yells while the thing dragged him away. We couldn't help him without risking the rest of the squad. I hope this is the one and only tragedy in this mission.
Me and Jenny were diving, and i swear, i saw this really weird creature. It was like purple, it didn't have legs and it had these weird claw appendages… it had a glowing transparent abdomen and a shit ton of eyes… and i swear to the damn lord Jesus i saw it teleport away. I know it sounds unbelievable but that's what i saw.
There was this shark thing that came up from the cave It wasn't that large, but definitely bigger than a human. Easily over two meters. It just kind of rubbed it's face on the side of the ship and went back. This might not be a good sign.
These are commander Nickolas's notes after the ship was destroyed. The mission lasted five days before contact with the main ship was lost.
The ship, is gone. No one else survived to my knowledge. I grabbed a piece of shamble off the ship because the fucking lifeboat was lost. That piece of ship was probably my way out of the situation too since a lifeboat would be pretty obvious to whatever came from that hole…
Here I am. Lost in the middle of the sea. I hope the tides drift me away from the hole so there won't be an alien squid chasing me. The sun is going down and so is probably the temperature. This is not good.
I have no idea of how to go about this. The nearest land is too far and i have no rations or drinking water. Should I just lie here and burn in direct sunlight at day and freeze in the wind at night!? Well good that it's not winter and the water is cool so extreme temperatures aren't a giant problem… if I got lucky then maybe I could come across an island or something, or even better, a rescue squad.
D-3551, male, 31, average physique, has been placed for an exploration of SCP-XXXXs interior. D-3551 is equipped with diving gear, a basic survival knife, a dive light, and communication gear. Dr. Ashford is positioned at the surface of the containment site at control to have communication with D-3551.
D-3551 dives into the water and goes down the entrance cave for about 100 meters.
D-3551: Hey, Doctor?
Dr. Ashford: Yes?
D-3551: There's a small cave here in the side of the tube… like… 3 meters wide..? I'm not sure. In what direction should I go?
Dr. Ashford: Go in which direction you want.
D-3551: Alright…
Approximately five minutes pass as D-3551 Proceeds through the narrow passage.
D-3551: There's a giant cavern here, it looks like it branches into several directions.
Dr. Ashford: Could you describe your surroundings a little bit?
D-3551: Well, there's some sand on the bottom… and there's a couple of underwater cliffs that create like, a high ground. I can see some light blue glow up there, not sure what it is.
Dr. Ashford: Continue.
D-3551: Alright… there's a couple of boulders thrown on about the sand… some freaky looking mushrooms growing out… A couple of bright foals of fish. (chuckles) nothing out of order in the fucking alien cave…
Dr. Ashford: Language, please.
D-3551: Alright, sorry. Where should I go? There's like 4 passages.
Dr. Ashford: Could you describe their location?
D-3551: alright, umm… There's one about 20 meters away that goes almost straight down… one about, umm, 25 meters away that goes vertically from a wall, the one next to me goes straight up from the roof, and one is like, 50 meters away… I can't really see it… the entrance is lit by the blue glow…
Dr. Ashford: Okay, go into the one in the roof nearest to you.
D-3551: Will do.
D-3551 proceeds to dive up the passage. About two minutes pass.
D-3551: It's a dead end.
Dr. Ashford: Alright, describe your surroundings please.
D-3551: There's these blue glowing plants… and these strange plate rocks in the walls. Some blue grass, moss- I don't know exactly what that is, in the ground and the roof…
Dr. Ashford: Okay. Proceed back to the main cavern.
About two minutes pass.
D-3551: Alright doc, give me some directions.
Dr. Ashford: Umm… go to the one that goes straight down…
D-3551 dives near the bottom next to the entrance and proceeds down. About 4 minutes passes.
D-3551: Umm, doc?
Dr. Ashford: Yes?
D-3551: There are there giants mushrooms here.
Dr. Ashford: What do you mean?
D-3551: There are these big mushrooms growing out of the ground…
Dr. Ashford: describe your surroundings please.
D-3551: There are the big mushrooms, there are some creepy fish swimming around with no eyes… there's some purple leaf plants… in this lengthy sand field…
Dr. Ashford: Could you go examine the big mushrooms?
D-3551: Do I have a choice?
Dr. Ashford: No.
D-3551: Alright…
D-3551 dives down for about three minutes.
D-3551: Alright doc… I'm here…
Dr. Ashford: Good. Could you describe it for me?
D-3551: Well, it has a slight glow, a dim pink color, looks like a gilled mushroom, it has… a hollow root..? What the hell…
Dr. Ashford: Could you describe what you see inside the root?
D-3551: Well… there are rocks, kind of clearly formed into a some sort of nest… it doesn't have any eggs though…
Dr. Ashford: A parasitism… interesting.
D-3551: Can i get out of the fungus now?
Dr. Ashford: Oh yes of course.
D-3551: Thanks doc.
D-3551 turns, spotting an entity.
D-3551: What the hell is that thing!? Is that supposed to be like an octopus!? Doc!? Actually doc… this thing looks… really nice…
Dr. Ashford: Subject D-3551, I do not recommend approaching it.
D-3351: Doc you don't understand… it's so… beautiful…
Dr. Ashford: D-3551! Do not approach it!
D-3551: It's so… colorful… I… want to touch it…
Dr. Ashford: Do not tou-
D-3351: (loud yelling)
Dr. Ashford: D-3551! Are you alright!?
D-3551: Fuck, fuck fuck fuck..! That thing… it fucking spoke to me… it… fuck…
Dr. Ashford: Are you injured?
D-3551: (Whimpering) it mutilated my arm… my hand…
Dr. Ashford: Are you able to continue?
D-3551: I- I don't know doc…
Dr. Ashford: Alright… go back to the main cavern and come up. Please don't die.
D-3551 proceeded to dive back up. Dr Ashford, two security personnel and a medic recovered D-3551 from the surface of the water. D-3551 suffered a severe mutilated wound on the right hand inflicted by three jaws. D-3551 made a full recovery.
D-5121, male, 25 years, average physique, has been assigned to explore SCP-XXXX. D-5121 is equipped with diving gear, a dive light, a basic survival knife and communication gear. Dr. Harwall has been positioned at the surface on communication.
D-5121 dives and goes down the entrance for about 140 meters.
D-5121: Doc? We've arrived in some kind of chamber.
Dr. Harwall: Oh, alright. Describe your surroundings please.
D-5121: Well, I came here from the roof, i see some tops of some, vines..? Some kelp towers i guess? i see some blue glow down there, there's some coral down there, in the walls too.
Dr. Harwall: Can you go investigate the glow?
D-5121: Okay.
D-5121 proceeds to dive down between the kelp and approaches the blue glow.
D-5121: Huh, this is… hard… it's some kind of a fruit, a seed? I'm not sure.
Dr. Harwall: Can you describe it in greater detail?
D-5121: O- okay, umm, it's a little transparent, not a lot, just a little, it's shaped a bit like a pear, it's glowing strongly in a blue color.
Dr. Harwall: Interesting. It could be a fruit of some kind.
D-5121: Yeah, most likely…
D-5121 dives back up above the kelp.
D-5121: Doc?
Dr. Harwall: Yes?
D-5121: This is… like a field, of kelp…
Dr. Harwall: What do you mean? Could you describe it?
D-5121: these vines, are like a dozen meters each… this is like, a forest…
Dr. Harwall: Alright. Can you see anything else that could possibly stick out?
D-5121: There's a couple of new cave entrances, a couple goes from a wall, another goes from the ground, and there's one really far away on the other side of the chamber. I'm going to go to the one on the wall since it's the nearest.
Dr. Harwall: That will do just fine.
D-5121 dives into the passage. About 3 minutes pass.
D-5121: What the hell..? Doc?
Dr. Harwall: Yes? Any new discoveries?
D-5121: This cavern… it's giant.
Dr. Harwall: How large is it?
D-5121: So large I can't see the other end or the bottom with the light.
Dr. Harwall: Can you approach the bottom for me please? Be careful.
D-5121: A- alright…
D-5121 dives to the bottom of the cavern. About three minutes pass.
D-5121: Doc! This is just sand.
Dr. Harwall: What do you mean?
D-5121: I said, it's just sand! There's nothing here! It's just a desert!
Dr. Harwall: Can you continue going forward?
D-5121: Alright…
D-5121 continues to dive near the bottom. About two minutes pass.
D-5121: Doc..?
Dr. Harwall: Yes?
D-5121: I don't think i'm alone…
Dr. Harwall: What can you see?
D-5121: There's a thing… in the distance… it's, giant.
Dr. Harwall: Can you describe it?
D-5121: It's… like… a worm. It's giant, like a dozen meters. It has… a horn..? A spike… in it's forehead. Look, i don't fucking know.
Dr. Harwall: D-5121, please remain calm and go back to a safe location.
D-5121: (breathing speeds up) Look, don't tell me to fucking calm down!
Dr. Harwall: You are wasting oxygen and drawing more attention to yourself! Carefully, go back to the passage!
D-5121 dives back up to the passage. About a minute passes.
D-5121: Look doc, I'm never reaching the fucking passage.
Dr. Harwall: You will reach it. Remain calm, and cont-
A loud roar from a distance, interrupting Dr. Harwall.
D-5121: Oh my god, oh my god oh my god!! (breathing grows rapid and labored)
Dr. Harwall: D-5121! Remain calm and swim as fast as possible!
D-5121: I'm trying I'm trying!!
Roaring grows closer
D-5121: (yelling, incoherent babbling, shortly followed by silence and roars from a distance)
Dr. Harwall: D-5121! Are you alright!? D-5121!? D-5121..?!
D-5121 is unresponsive and not moving. Test was ended after five minutes of no response from D-5121. Assumed dead.
Addendum XXXX-A: Explorations suggest that SCP-XXXX contains a unique ecosystem of never seen-before fauna and flora.
Addendum XXXX-B: SCP-XXXX contains an unknown entity(ies), sometimes spotted by research personnel. The origin of the entity(ies) is unknown, and it has been seen "trans-locating". Research is ongoing.
Addendum XXXX-C: A skeleton of a large eel-like entity has been found in the low volcanic regions. This might suggest there is an even larger undiscovered predator capable of hunting them easily over 20 meters in length.
