Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: An exclusion zone surrounding SCP-XXXX has been established with the aid of the Hungarian government. Entry into this zone is restricted to employees of the National Parks of Hungary agency (Nemzeti park igazgatóság) or authorized Foundation personnel. Personnel or other individuals who have entered but not returned from SCP-XXXX after a period of two-three hours are to be presumed dead.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a heavily forested area along the Danube river in Hungary. Despite its obscurity, relative inaccessibility, and size (only 250 hectares, or 2.5 square kilometers), it is associated with over 400 disappearances and 37 unexplained deaths. There are no records of human settlement in SCP-XXXX, though artifacts have been recovered suggesting attempts have been made.
SCP-XXXX's reputation among local Hungarians, who have dubbed it the Black Place (a fekete hely), has made containment relatively easy, as local folklore attributes the deaths and disappearances to either demonic spirits or a curse. However, there have been attempts made to penetrate SCP-XXXX by visitors. Containment procedures are to be followed in these cases.
Addendum 1: On January 2nd, [REDACTED], noted blogger James Mansfield declared his intention to visit SCP-XXXX with a group of friends. Personnel were to apprehend them beforehand and prevent a containment. James Mansfield would subsequently return without the knowledge of his companions and once more attempt to enter SCP-XXXX. At the time, personnel were distracted by reports of movement on the other side of SCP-XXXX, so James Mansfield was able to gain entry. He has not been found since, though searchers did recover his video camera, which was cleared of footage deemed a threat to the containment of SCP-XXXX before being returned to his family. The footage has been presented as follows.
