Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a 7 cm3 locked box at all times. When personnel are testing SCP-XXXX, they are to place it in their right eye only. If the potential user does not have a right eye due to deformity or injury, has only one eye, or has any other intent to place SCP-XXXX in a different bodily opening, they are to be rejected access to SCP-XXXX unless authorized by Dr. ████, Dr. Leopold, or O5-█.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a single red contact lens with a base curve of 8.9 mm and a diameter of 14.1 mm, but inherently changes size to fit its current wearer. SCP-XXXX displays desired anomalous effects only when placed on a user's right eye. Specifications for what is required for SCP-XXXX to function properly are listed in Addendum XXXX-S. Placing it on any eye outside of these specifications can cause undesired effects, injury, or death.
Once the wearer, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, places SCP-XXXX into their right eye, they go blind in their left eye until SCP-XXXX is removed. The next person that SCP-XXXX-1 makes unbroken eye contact with for two (2) seconds, hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, will be placed in a reality that is a copy of our own. In this new reality, which Dr. ████ and Dr. Leopold have taken the liberty of naming "Xerox," SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 are free to do as they would in normal life. Everything in Xerox is identical down to the most minute of details. The only two differences between Xerox and reality is that SCP-XXXX-1 becomes immortal and omnipotent, and time in reality pauses while two subjects are under the influence of SCP-XXXX. Due to this, SCP-XXXX-1 is able to go into the past to reveal lost mysteries of the world, ancient or modern. Recollections from previous users after testing are listed in Interviews.
Further testing has shown that SCP-XXXX-2 is not invulnerable like SCP-XXXX-1 is in Xerox. While SCP-XXXX-1 can be harmed if they allow for it, at the end of testing they are always unharmed. SCP-XXXX-2 retains all injuries, diseases, venoms, and toxins affecting the body, as well as their mental/emotional changes. If the harm done to SCP-XXXX-2 in Xerox is lethal in reality, SCP-XXXX-2 will die instantly, or shortly after, testing has concluded. SCP-XXXX cannot be used to heal subjects.
Addendums:
SCP-XXXX is not to be handled, used, or tested upon unless authorization has been granted by Dr. ████, Dr. Leopold, or O5-█, and these specifications are being followed:
- The user is human, and is not considered to be hostile or anomalous.
- The user has exactly two organic eyes that function properly (i.e. no damaged eyes and no blind eyes, via cataracts or damaged optical nerves).
- The user complies in placing SCP-XXXX exclusively into their right eye.
- The user knows, or is taught prior to testing, how to properly place a contact lens into their right eye.
- The user knows, or is taught prior to testing, how to properly remove a contact lens from their right eye.

Dr. Leopold: Could you please state your name?
D-69901: Casey █████.
Dr. Leopold: Okay, Casey. You were the subject who did not wear the contact lens, correct?
D-69901: Correct.
Dr. Leopold: Can you tell me what both of your instructions were, and what happened?
D-69901: Yeah, he was told to put it in his eye, so he did. He was afraid they wouldn't get the contact size right, or whatever, but it fit. We were supposed to stare at each other, and then the paper said to wish he could walk through walls. I don't know what to tell you, doc, but he fuckin did it.
Dr. Leopold: Our surveillance cameras show that he put the contact in, and then removed it a few seconds after looking at you.
D-69901: Doc, I'm telling you, he walked through the walls! You all started shooting at him, but he just wouldn't fall down.
Dr. Leopold: Interesting. [Dr. Leopold writes on his papers] What occurred next?
D-69901: He took off the contact and he was suddenly back in the room with me. His shirt and pants had bullet holes, but he wasn't bleedin or nothin. We couldn't believe it.
Dr. Leopold: I was made aware by Dr. ████ that this was only the first half of this test. What were your next set of instructions?
D-69901: Uh, just to put it in the other eye. I was escorted out of the room after he did, though.
Dr. Leopold: Why were you escorted out?
D-69901: [D-69901 hesitates to speak] When he put it in the other eye, after a few seconds… Half of his head caved in.
Dr. Leopold: I know it must be traumatic to remember, but could you say how quickly his head collapsed inward?
D-69901: It looked instant, man. Like an invisible train just rammed into his skull.
Dr. Leopold: Thank you for your cooperation. That will be all.

D-█████: Yeah, it's █████ ████████.
Dr. Leopold: Thank you. Could you please state what your instructions were?
D-█████: Uh, I was told there was a red contact lens, and to put it in my right eye, not my left. They were pretty serious about not fucking that up.
Dr. Leopold: Go on.
D-█████: After putting it in, I was supposed to make eye contact with the other guy, Geoff, and after a couple of seconds I was told I would be able to time travel. They made me memorize a date and location—Buck's Row, London, 3:30 AM, August 31st 1888. They made me take a written test twice to make sure I memorized it.
Dr. Leopold: And what did you see?
D-█████: [Shifts in his chair, uncomfortably] I uh… Saw a woman's body. Dead body.
Dr. Leopold: I believe your instructions also mentioned slowly reversing time until you could identify who placed the body there. Did you identify the murderer?
D-█████: I believe so. I had to reverse time a few hours, to dusk. It was probably around 7:30 PM. I froze time and searched the man's pockets who was dumping her body, name was [REDACTED]. I've never heard of him.
Dr. Leopold: And you're sure he murdered her? He didn't only dump the body?
D-█████: I… [6 seconds of silence] I made sure it was him. Watched him cut her throat almost all the way through. He removed her… Her guts.

Dr. Leopold: If you don't comply, Dr. ████ will have our next subject use you like Geoff.
D-█████: Okay! Okay… I wished I had a knife, and one appeared in my hand. [Dr. Leopold nods him to continue] I wished he was paralyzed, so he fell to the floor. I stabbed his shoulder, and he screamed.
Dr. Leopold: What else did you stab?
D-█████: His leg, and… Then I wished for him to not be able to feel pain anymore. He stopped crying for a few minutes. We talked about how this was all a hallucination or some shit… Then I stabbed him in the throat. He laughed. We both laughed. Blood was everywhere, but we thought it was like a virtual reality or something.
Dr. Leopold: I'll finish for you. █████ ████████ then removed SCP-XXXX from his right eye. The moment he took it out, Geoff ██████ immediately fell to the floor, and bled profusely from his left shoulder, left thigh, and anterior throat, until he died on the floor. Once the wearer, hereby referred to as SCP-4850-1, places SCP-4850 into their right eye, they go blind in their left eye until SCP-4850 is removed, and see everything with a tint of red in their right eye. The next person that SCP-4850-1 makes unbroken eye contact with for two (2) seconds, hereby referred to as SCP-4850-2, will be placed in a reality that is a copy of our own. In this new reality, which Dr. ████ and Dr. Leopold have taken the liberty of naming "Vermelha," SCP-4850-1 and SCP-4850-2 are free to do as they would in normal life. Everything in Vermelha is identical down to the atomic level.
The only two differences between Vermelha and reality are (1) SCP-4850-1 becomes immortal and omnipotent, and (2) time in reality pauses while two subjects are under the influence of SCP-4850.
Due to these differences, SCP-4850-1 is able to do anything they wish. Examples include going into the past to reveal lost mysteries of the world, going into the near future to see possibilities of what may happen, changing the natural laws of physics, granting themselves or others superhuman abilities, and granting themselves or others invulnerability, among endless other possibilities. Recollections from previous users after testing are listed in Interviews.
Further testing has shown that SCP-4850-2 is not invulnerable like SCP-4850-1 is in Vermelha. While SCP-4850-1 can be harmed if they allow for it, at the end of testing they are always unharmed, excluding mental or emotional trauma. SCP-4850-2 retains all injuries, diseases, venoms, and toxins affecting the body, as well as any other harmful physiological changes. If the harm done to SCP-4850-2 in Vermelha is lethal in reality, SCP-4850-2 will die instantly, or shortly after, testing has concluded. SCP-4850 cannot be used to heal subjects of injuries, ailments, or any other physiological traumas they had prior to testing.
Addendums:

- The user is human, and is not considered to be hostile or anomalous.
- The user has exactly two organic eyes that function properly (i.e. no damaged eyes and no blind eyes, via cataracts or damaged optical nerves).
- The user complies in placing SCP-4850 exclusively into their right eye.

Dr. Leopold: Our surveillance cameras show that he put the contact in, and then removed it a few seconds after looking at you, and suddenly his clothes were ripped.
D-69901: Doc, I'm telling you, he walked through the walls! You all started shooting at him, but he just wouldn't fall down.
Dr. Leopold: Interesting. [Dr. Leopold writes on his papers] What occurred next?
D-69901: He took out the contact and he was suddenly back in the room with me. His shirt and pants had bullet holes, but he wasn't bleedin or nothin. We couldn't believe it.
Dr. Leopold: I was made aware by Dr. ████ that this was only the first half of this test. What were your next set of instructions?
D-69901: Uh, to put it in the other eye… I was [D-69901 hesitates to speak] escorted out of the room after he did.
Dr. Leopold: Why were you escorted out?
D-69901: When he put it in the other eye, after a few seconds… Half of his head just… caved in.
Dr. Leopold: I know it must be traumatic to remember, but could you say how quickly his head collapsed inward?
D-69901: It looked instant, man. Like an invisible train just rammed into his skull.
Dr. Leopold: Thank you for your cooperation. That will be all.

Dr. Leopold: Could you please state your name?
Dr. Leopold: Thank you, that will be all.

Dr. Leopold: Hello again, █████. This is your third time testing, correct?
D-█████: Correct.
Dr. Leopold: Great. You know the drill, so let's get started. Please state what your instructions were.
D-█████: [Hesitant breathing] T-To… You wanted me to… Kill him.
Dr. Leopold: Kill who?
D-█████: Geoff.
Dr. Leopold: And you succeeded. Can you please say the details of what you did to him?
D-█████: I don't want t—
█████ ████████ then removed SCP-4850 from his right eye. The moment he took it out, Geoff ██████ immediately fell to the floor, and bled profusely from his left shoulder, left thigh, and anterior throat, until he died on the floor. [D-█████ remains quiet, staring at the table] Can you confirm this, █████?
D-█████: Why are you asking me all of this, man? Weren't you watching?
Dr. Leopold: Lead researchers aren't to be in the testing chambers while SCP-4850 is in use. If I were to watch from a window, all you'd have to do to kill me or anyone else is look us in the eye, it seems. Now please, answer the question. Can you confirm everything I have previously said?
D-█████: Yes.
Dr. Leopold: That'll be all.

Dr. Leopold: This is interview number seven with you. State your instructions.
D-█████: Go into the future three different times.
Dr. Leopold: Conclusions?
D-█████: The first time I could see four days ahead. April 11th 2018. Two men shot and killed a construction worker and police were searching for them. The second time I could see nine days ahead. April 16th 2018. Four baboons escaped a research facility and were on the run. The third time… [D-█████ sighs] I could see two days into the future. Dr. ████ executed me.
Dr. Leopold: Why did Dr. ████ execute you?
D-█████: I… can't say.
Dr. Leopold: You will tell me. [Dr. Leopold stands up]
D-█████: I was executed because I knew something I shouldn't have. Something I find out on that day through testing.
Dr. Leopold: [Dr. Leopold looks at camera] Turn off cameras and microphones. If Dr. ████ will execute you for telling me on record, then let us test if we can change the future.
Assistant Researcher James Crowley [Over Intercom]: Sir, this isn't on the papers we submitted to—
Dr. Leopold: James. Turn it off.

Dr. Leopold: What happened to you when you went and tested with D-77205?
D-77206: He put in the red contact, and he healed the cut on my arm.
Dr. Leopold: [Glances at D-77206's still wounded arm] Doesn't look like he healed it to me.
D-77206: It was healed… Until he took out the contact.
Dr. Leopold: What happened next?
D-77206: He put the contact back in, took out a knife, and cut my other arm. Then he healed that one. When he took out the contact, that cut stayed healed.
Dr. Leopold: As if it had never been cut at all?
D-77206: Seems like it.
Dr. Leopold: Thank you. We're done in here.

Dr. ████: Welcome back, Casey.
D-69901: [D-69901 remains silent]
Dr. ████: You have tested with SCP-4850 quite a few times now, is that right?
D-69901: [D-69901 nods]
Dr. ████: Casey, there's no reason to be afraid to answer me verbally.
D-69901: I've seen you kill half a room of people with that thing. I don't want to talk about it.
Dr. ████: That's quite fine. But if you are not willing to talk about it, I'll have to send you back to your cell.
D-69901: [D-69901 slams hands on table] No! Please, no.
Dr. ████: Then tell me, the last test you were in, you were to stay in there for one hour. Did you keep track of the time?
D-69901: I did. [D-69901 nods profusely] We were there for one hour and thirty-four seconds. I had him make a timer for me to hold on to.
Dr. ████: Good. We're going to test that one more time, but with a minor change. Bring him in. [D-80605 enters the room, wearing SCP-4850]
D-69901: [D-69901 pushes her chair away from table] Oh, please no.
Dr. ████: You are to look D-80605 in the eye, and stay in Vermelha for as long as you can take it.
D-69901: Please, n— [D-69901 falls over as her face wrinkles, hair grays, teeth rot, and skin desiccates.]
Dr. ████: [Looks at D-80605's feet as D-80605 places SCP-4850 in Dr. ████'s hand] How long were you in there with her?
D-80605: [D-80605 sits on the floor and stares at the wall] We stayed for about 52 years. I lived my life with my family, owned a casino, and was glad to be out of here.
Dr. ████: If you were glad to be gone, what made you come back?
D-80605: There was too much to keep track of.
Dr. ████: Hm? How do you mean?
D-80605: You guys lied to me. You aren't God when you're in there. Sure, I could do whatever I wanted, but that didn't stop human impotence. I… forgot things. Then I'd wish to have them back, but something else would be forgotten the next day. I wished to never forget things, but I remembered every mild, insignificant detail. My brain felt like it was on fire, like every cell was working on overdrive. I wished for it to stop, to be free of that pain. My first thought was to take that out. [D-80605 looks at Dr. ████'s hand]
Dr. ████: And, [Dr. ████ gestures to D-69901] what happened with her?
D-80605: I forgot about her.
