SCP-5766 during Containment Breach 5766.4
Assigned Containment Procedures
SCP-5766 is to be extinguished as soon as reasonably possible. No discussed and tested method of extinguishment has succeeded in extinguishing the entirety of SCP-5766, only temporary alterations to SCP-5766’s size or temperature. Prior to the neutralisation of SCP-5766, the following temporary measures are to be instated:
Temporary Containment Procedures
The Foundation has been leased the surrounding regions of SCP-5766 from the Norwegian Government to contain SCP-5766 designated as T-Site-58. All area within a 3km radius of SCP-5766 is to be deforested and have no trace of flammable matter with a chainlink fence separating the surrounding forest and SCP-5766’s containment area. If a containment breach occurs, the local regions of the break-out point of SCP-5766’s containment area border is to be deforested and flammable matter is to be removed.
Description
SCP-5766 is a wildfire located in Northern Norway started in late April of 2010 approximately 0.43 square kilometres in area.

Addendum 5766-1 - Origin & Discovery
The exact origins of SCP-5766 has not been recorded since containment, however, from various sources of meteorological and atmospherical data, a presumed beginning of SCP-5766’s presence has been recorded, as seen in the document below.
Incident Designation: Incident 5766-0 (Nicknamed “The Spark” by Staff)
Approximated Date/Time: ~14:00 UTC - 04.23.20101
Status: Concluded
Incident Details: SCP-5766 was started at on 04.23.2010 approximately at 14:00 UTC during a lightning storm that had killed over 200 separate creatures including foxes, wolves, reindeer, and puffins. SCP-5766 was presumably started when a lightning strike lit several coniferous trees affected by dry-rot.
Unlike SCP-5766’s origins, the discovery of SCP-5766 has been properly documented by interviews of ████ ███████. After interviews, ████ ███████ was administrated a Class-C Amnestic.
Incident Designation: Discovery-5766
Date/Time: 16:██ UTC - 04.23.2010
Incident Details: SCP-5766 was discovered by ████ ███████ during a hike in Northern Norway. At 16:██, ████ noticed a large quantity of soot and smoke in the trees, a noticeable change in visibility of the area and an increased air temperature. ████ followed what he presumed where the smoke originated from, and unknowingly discovered SCP-5766 while the large volume of smoke in the area, ████ never noticed the presence of SCP-5766.
The Foundation was called to investigate the area by the Norwegian Government as multiple climatologists noticed a large quantity of CO2 in the surrounding 125km2 area of SCP-5766. The Norwegian Government later leased a 3km2 area to the Foundation for containment of SCP-5766 and a temporary site approximately 800m from SCP-5766’s containment pen.
Addendum 5766-2 - Termination Attempts
| Termination Method | Effect on SCP-5766 | Successful? |
|---|---|---|
| Water (Control) | No Effect | No |
| Fire Extinguisher | No Effect | No |
| Liquid Nitrogen (1kg) | Decreased heat of SCP-5766 in an area of 6m2 for 4 hours by 0.2° Celsius. No Long-Lasting Effect. | No |
| 90v Electrical Amplifier (1hr) | Eliminated 0.6m2 of SCP-5766. Possible Long-Lasting Solution | No*2 |
Addendum 5766-3 - Incident 5766-1
Incident Designation: Incident 5766-1
Alta, Norway during Incident 5766-1
Date/Time: 12.20.2011 - Present Day
Status: Ongoing
Event Summary: SCP-5766 began forming a local greenhouse effect across its nearby regions on the 13th of September 2012, through immense emission of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Water Vapour (H2O), causing intense heat during the day and night hours in Site-84, Alta and the neighbouring woodlands, mountains and towns. This phenomena will continue until the eventual neutralisation of SCP-5766 at an increasing rate.
