The steam:
Entity travels through sewer systems and water pipes. Harmless in water form the entity can transform into steam in the blink of an eye and there it does damage. It kills people normally in the shower or in other places with steam to mask itself from being known. The entity kills through suffocation and scalding of the lungs. When the entity kills it leaves a mark on any and all available mirrors. The mark is an emoticon used on the internet "=3". Unknown to the population, the discovery of the very many deaths the entity had caused a persona to be assigned to it by authorities as "the steam". It was believed to be serial killer who kills their prey with an unknown toxin and leaves them dead. They pieced together that the killer attacks by releasing the toxin through a mask into the lungs no traces of the gas were left anywhere at the scene, also thought to be the case due to the one by one murders. SCP agents were brought to the scene when an entire middle school physical education class was found dead in the locker-room during showers. all mirrors in the room marked up and down with "=3" in different shapes and sizes. The agents began tracking the entity down, finding out how it moved and finding a way to know where it was going. After countless tries and failures of catching the entity they manged to capture it into an air-tight container through a de-humidifier type machine. after being caught it was placed into a hermetically sealed bathroom type area with multiple drains on the floor, a shower, and a sink. The room is lined with state-of-the-art camera technology and infrared sensors built to completely ignore the steams presence and focus on whats inside the room. It is there that they learned how the steam kills its victims and what it is capable of, yet there are still things the scientists haven't fully understood. since its capture the steam has shown its sentience and began communicating with the scientists in a very well mannered and intelligent form of writing, able to chose any font type it has seen, though the entity prefers using a calligraphy type of font.
