Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: []
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was moved to Site ██ on ██/██/20██ after being located near Progreso, Mexico. The object was found after various reports of large masses of dead, broken trees and rotting animal corpses near the town. Mobile Task Force Gamma-13 was dispatched to investigate and retrieve the potential anomalous object. The residents were told of these events as results of a freak storm. After surveying the zones with the highest volume of these incidents, the MTF located SCP-XXXX mostly submerged in an abandoned salt mine pool. SCP-XXXX initially appeared remarkably compliant when approached by the recovery team, though further efforts to remove it from its initial location resulted in the object becoming hostile towards the team, attacking 2 of the 12 troops present until being subdued by heavy gunfire directed at its head. (See Incident Log I-XXXX-A). Its origin is currently unknown, though the use of ground-penetrating radar around the initial recovery site of SCP-XXXX has revealed several cavities buried approximately 20 feet below the ground fitting the dimensions of SCP-XXXX, suggesting the existence of more instances of SCP-XXXX. Currently there is one specimen in the Foundation's possession.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an 11-foot-tall, humanoid statue weighing approximately 9.3 tons. The object appears to be a golem, possessing numerous engravings and pictorial depictions on its torso and arms, each appearing to show historical battles involving Native American cultures. Research into determining the events and cultures depicted by SCP-XXXX's engravings is currently underway. The Golem's massive head is adorned with a fire opal embedded in the center of its face with a spiral engraving blooming outward from the gemstone, resembling a flower.
Heavy traces of potassium, iron, and other elements matching the composition of the meteorite responsible for Chicxulub Crater approximately 65.5 million years ago are also present in SCP-XXXX's body. It possesses considerable bulk and surprising durability given its pottery-like composition. The composition of the statue itself is determined to be a primarily earthenware clay mixture, and through analysis of magnetic instruments a heavy iron framework underneath forming a skeletal system as well. Heavy traces of potassium, iron, and other elements matching the composition of the meteorite responsible for Chicxulub Crater approximately 65.5 million years ago are present in the. It should be noted SCP-XXXX appears to regenerate the material, which makes up its body, despite no exterior source of clay substances or sediments being present near SCP-XXXX (See Test Log XXXX-01 through XXXX-03). Samples of this material, deemed C-01, taken from SCP-XXXX, despite showing remarkable resistance (though not invulnerability) to heat, water, and blunt force when part of the entity's original body, prove to be significantly weaker when separated from SCP-XXXX's body, and display no regenerative capabilities.
SCP-XXXX has not displayed any recognizable form of higher intelligence and only appears to be capable of rudimentary motor functions and cognitive function, such as situational awareness and self-preservation. Attempts to initiate activity in SCP-XXXX via audio or visual stimuli have failed, resulting in unresponsiveness from SCP-XXXX (See Test Log XXXX-02). The entity has displayed relatively docile behavior while in containment, yet due to the circumstances surrounding its recovery, containment should be maintained and monitored.
It should be noted that the entity, while lacking any notable intelligence, has demonstrated passive psycho-emotional influence on nearby personnel. Several Foundation researchers and cleaning staff have reported feeling a mild sense of blissful apathy, resulting in temporary leading them neglect their duties for about a period of 10-15 minutes after initial symptoms. These periods of the effect often coincide with an increase in SCP-XXXX's activity, with the entity exhibiting noticeable movement, even walking around its containment chamber in some instances (See Test Log XXXX-04). It should be noted that the strength of these effects drops off dramatically at a radius of approximately 10 feet around the entity, hence the specifications for SCP-XXXX's containment.
