Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a 0.5 meter by 0.5 meter barred cage made from polycarbonate, kevlar, or another strong, insulating material. The cage must be able to be opened via the top for testing purposes. No electrical currents are permitted within 50 meters of SCP-XXXX’s containment area, in order to keep SCP-XXXX in its ‘inactive’ state. When SCP-XXXX is required for testing, a small electrical current is to be passed through its containment cell, of which should not exceed 10 Amps. Upon potential containment breach all electrical currents are to be ceased immediately, and the facility is to go into lockdown for approximately 24 hours, after which an armoured response team is to be deployed to recontain SCP-XXXX within.
Description: When in its inactive state, SCP-XXXX is a black television remote control, around 10 inches in length. The brand name printed at the base of the casing is Mamagoran. When in this state, SCP-XXXX functions as a regular television remote although the Attempted examinations of the internal workings of SCP-XXXX have so far been unsuccessful.
When sufficient electrical current has been provided nearby, SCP-XXXX transitions into its so-called ‘Active’ state. Over a period of 10-35 minutes (The times vary depending on the amount of current) SCP-XXXX will sprout four legs, one in each corner of the remote’s casing. These legs are spindly and spider-like. As well as bearing resemblance to raw meat. They are tipped with a pointed, chitinous substance, similar to those found on Arthropods in the wild. These legs are capable of propelling SCP-XXXX at speeds up to 12 MPH, as well as enabling it to climb up walls and on ceilings. The method of which is unknown as SCP-XXXX lacks any of the attributes that allow other creatures like Spiders to climb. The manner in which these limbs initially protrude is unknown, as no evidence of them have been found upon SCP-XXXX’s body once it has returned to its ‘inactive’ state.
If SCP-XXXX continues to be exposed to electrical currents for an time period exceeding 1 hour, animalistic mandibles will sprout from the front of the casing. This is known as its ‘Awoken’ state. These mandibles consist of two large teeth on the edge of each jaw, with two extra, smaller teeth protruding in between on each jaw. These jaws are capable of biting through solid steel with little difficulty, as such it is imperative SCP-XXXX is not allowed to sprout these jaws as once it does containment becomes extremely difficult. While in the ‘Awoken’ state. SCP-XXXX is aggressive towards any life that is nearby, preferring to neutralise life around it before starting to consume sources of electricity. SCP-XXXX’s limbs and mandibles can all be damaged, removed or destroyed, however, attempts to destroy the outer casing have so far been unsuccessful. SCP-XXXX is drawn towards nearby electrical currents regardless of strength, seemingly with the intent to consume the source.
