Welcome to the Beanbox
Pariah Town is a story about rejection by society and or family and acceptance by something else.
Deep below a swamp in Massachusetts is a great open cave filled with buildings carved from the fungal muck and old rotten wood. It’s populated by hundreds of runaway humans, inhuman, or otherwise rejected entities. This society shows little to no discrimination on any level, and is as such incredibly diverse. At the center of the cave is a temple resembling an upside down ziggurat descending into the earth. Above this structure is an orb that lights up and warms the cave in a way described as “not too hot or bright, but enough to be comfortable and to function”. At the bottom of the ziggurat is a hallway inscribed with the story of how this place came to be. At the end of the hallway is a cave room housing an enormous maggot-like creature covered in hundreds of arms. When a resident of the town approaches the creature, a pair of the arms will embrace the resident for about a minute before releasing them.
Several SCP-XXXX-2 instances, or town residents, are interviewed by the Foundation. Interviews with them will be how the rest of the town’s nature is unveiled.
