SCP-4236 in the [DATA EXPUNGED] Forest, where SCP-4236-1 was originally found

Item #: SCP-4236

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4236 is kept within a tempered glass container held up 1 m above the ground in a 7 m x 7 m x 5.5 m room with no windows, a single light bulb1, and a 15 cm thick iron door locked with 5 locks and a security passcode.

Any humans attempting to exit the room are to be detained and held for interrogation, before being given a heavy dose2 of amnestics.

SCP Addendum: Following the events of Incidents 4236a-1 and 4236c, no personnel is allowed to come into contact with the artifact while SCP-4236-1 is present.

Description: SCP-4236 is a magenta-coloured jewel. Once any organism looks upon the artifact,
the artifact will not allow said organism to look away.

SCP-4236-1 are the individuals that have looked at SCP-4236-1 and are now unable to look away. Their senses do not seem affected by this, however, as they are capable of hearing, tasting, feeling, and smelling. All instances of SCP-4236-1 are unable to move their eyes, and can only move their heads if they move the jewel along with their heads.

SCP-4236-1 do not seem bothered by the fact that thay cannot move, and, in fact, they seem to have formed a rudimentary religion. Twice every day, at approximately 3:00 PM EST and 5:00 PM EST, SCP-4236-1 have prayers towards the artifact. SCP-4236-1 are also able to talk, however they do not use this for communication, rather as a way to perform prayers towards SCP-4236.

SCP-4236-1 seem to be unable to be moved by other individuals, and if these individuals persist, the instance will become semi-hostile (see Addendum SCP-4236b). SCP-4236-1 do not allow any individuals obscure their vision (see Addendum SCP-4236d), nor do they allow anyone to take/move the instance away, and will become extremely hostile if this occurs, attacking the individual until they become an instance or (presumably) until they are neutralized (see Addendum SCP-4236c).

SCP-4236-1's behavior throughout the day seems to be in opposition to what a normal human is capable of, as no instances have been shown to ever sleep during the entire time they have been on site or in the [DATA EXPUNGED] Forest. They also never eat anything, however they have been seen to drink some sort of liquid that appears out of thin air (this only occurs once every 14 days, at exactly 2:36 PM). As to why this only occurs at these specific time periods and why this occurs at all is currently unknown.

Addendum SCP-4236a (regarding Incidents 4236a-1 and 4236a-2):
Incident 4236a-1: [DATA EXPUNGED]
Incident 4236a-2: The following day, Subject 4236a experienced further involuntary movements until 4:32 PM EST on ██/██/20██ when the subject attempted to break down the iron door. The subject was detained and subsequently moved to Site ██ following a 150 mg dose of Class B amnestics.

Addendum SCP-4236b (regarding Experiment 4236b): On 07/09/20██, at 7:43 PM EST, Subject 4236b (a Class D personnel) was instructed to enter the room and tell any instance of SCP-4236-1 to look away from the artifact, resulting in nothing occurring. The subject was then told to attempt to move the instance's head away from the artifact. This resulted in the subject "being hissed at" by the instance and then subsequently pushed away.

Addendum SCP-4236c (regarding Incident 4236c): On ██/██/20██, at 5:30 AM, similarly to Subject 4236a, Security Officer ███████ experienced involuntary movements towards the door after [DATA EXPUNGED]. The Security Officer somehow got access to the keys and the code to the door, and proceeded to enter the door. ███████ had then moved towards the artifact, broke the tempered glass, took SCP-4236 and attempted to exit the room with the artifact. Before ███████ could leave, an instance of SCP-4236-1 had attacked ███████. The instance attempted to move ███████'s head towards the artifact, and succeeded 4 minutes into the attack. ███████ is now an instance of SCP-4236-1.

Addendum SCP-4236d (regarding Experiment 4236d): Subject 4236d (a Class D personnel) was instructed to enter the room and obscure any instance's vision, or block the artifact from view. The subject attempted to do both of these, however they found themselves physically unable to block their view, as whenever they got close to the object they were obscuring, their arm instantly went back to their side, as if it were teleported. This has not been recorded on camera however, because the camera stopped recording as the subject's arm moved.
