Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 10x10x5m containment cell in site-15. SCP-XXXX’s containment cell is to come equipped with 2 doors that form an airlock with no two doors being open at the same time.

All access to SCP-XXXX’s chamber must be conducted under constant real time surveillance from researchers and task force Tango-Bronté which must be ready to remove or neutralise anyone within the chamber and must remain for the duration of the test. Access to SCP-XXXX also requires at least security clearance level 2 and written permission from Dr.███████.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an analogue ██████ brand thermostat with a dial that can be turned from 10°C to 200°C. The current temperature of any room SCP-XXXX is placed in will be controlled by SCP-XXXX. Any individuals within the same room and in contact with the same air as SCP-XXXX will report that the room is “Too cold” and will seek out SCP-XXXX even with impaired or no vision or if SCP-XXXX is hidden or unreachable.

Should an individual be allowed to use SCP-XXXX while influenced by its anomalous effects, they will turn the knob on SCP-XXXX until it makes a distinct click noise indicating that the temperature has been raised by 5°C. All subjects have reported that the room then feels as though it is the perfect temperature, however after approximately 5 minutes the individual will again complain the room is “Too cold” and will continue to raise the temperature until they reach 200°C endlessly (See Experiment Log XXXX-3), as upon reaching 200°C individuals will attempt to break open the knob on SCP-XXXX to re-wire the circuitry to increase the temperature further.

Despite the fact that the temperature can be raised incredibly high, SCP-XXXX and any affected individuals will be impervious to any normal damage, such as combustion or melting, that would be expected from such high temperatures.

It is worth noting that anyone not in contact with the same air as SCP-XXXX will feel no anomalous effects. They will also experience the normal effects of the temperature the room is at. The longer and individual is denied the chance to fix the temperature in the room, the more desperate they will become and the more drastic of measures they will use.

Test-XXXX-1 Date:██/██/████

Subject: D-Class personnel D/XXXX-1, an average caucasian male aged 23
Procedure: Introduce D/XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX to better assertain its anomalous properties
Results: D-Class complained that the room felt “Too cold” immediately upon entering the room. D/XXXX-1 approached SCP-XXXX, but when instructed not to approach SCP-XXXX D/XXXX-1 was unresponsive to the researchers and turned SCP_XXXX one click anticlockwise and suddenly seemed incredibly calm and said, in a happy and upbeat voice that did not match his own “Wow! This really is the perfect temperature!”, however after exactly 4 minutes and 57 seconds the subject seemed distressed and was asked what was wrong, giving the reply “This isn’t perfect. I need to fix it.” before turning SCP-XXXX up another 5°C. After 10 minutes a task force arrived to apprehend D/XXXX-1 and turn SCP-XXXX back down after repeated refusal to exit and having turned the temperature up to 30°C in total.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX appears to have strong memetic effect on subjects in the same room as it whom are aware of the current temperature of the room, further testing is required to fully know how SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects can be avoided and how it affects its container.

Test-XXXX-2 Date:█/██/████

Subject: D-Class personnel D/XXXX-2, wearing heat resistant clothing with a valve affixed to each arm that can be remotely opened and closed
Procedure: Open valves on D/XXXX-2’s clothing if they are unaffected initially. Ascertain exactly how SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects take hold.
Results: D/XXXX-2 was instructed to enter the chamber and as they entered nothing out of the ordinary happened. When D/XXXX-2 questioned what SCP-XXXX was the valves were opened and D/XXXX-2 let out a string of profanity followed by “Its too cold in here”, D/XXXX-2 approached SCP-XXXX, turned it anticlockwise and was calmed, stating in a simmilar voice to the one D/XXXX-1 vocalised, “Wow! This really is the perfect temperature!”, The valves were then closed and D/XXXX-2 seemed unaware of her surroundings, stood up and was asked to leave.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX’s effects only manifest if an individual is touching the same air as SCP-XXXX and can be ceased by stopping this contact.

Test-XXXX-3 Date:██/█/████

Subject: D-Class personnel D/XXXX-3, caucasian male aged 72
Pre-test conditions: SCP-XXXX was transported to a container with heavy duty steel walls that could resist high temperatures
Procedure: Allow D/XXXX-3 to increase the temperature up to or past the limit
Results: D/XXXX-3 exhibited simmilar behaviour to Test XXXX-1 up until they reached the limit of SCP-XXXX's knob. Upon reaching this limit, after 5 minutes, D/XXXX-3 opened up the knob on SCP-XXXX and began rewiring it. Upon seeing this task force Tango-Bronté neutralised D/XXXX-3 on the spot as per the request of Dr.██████.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX appears capable of giving those afflicted knowledge of how to increase its output even further.
