Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:

As per the agreement between the Foundation and 'Organic Gambling Inc', instances of SCP-XXXX have been restricted to 15 casinos and public venues. Personnel will monitor these areas on a semi-regular basis, and should any users die as a result of SCP-XXXX, cause of death will be attributed to either natural causes or a heart attack and any witnesses in close proximity will be administered Class A or B amnestics. To prevent spread of mouth of SCP-XXXX, winners will be administered Class A or B amnestics and be provided a false narrative to explain how they achieved the winnings and if necessary, prizes can be confiscated.

Any unauthorized instances of SCP-XXXX are to be captured and stored in a warehouse at Site _. At any time, only 2 machines are to be powered and only so for experimentation with D-Class personnel. Staff assigned to SCP-XXXX are strictly forbidden to use the machine. All prize input requests must be approved prior to experimentation and all prizes must be confiscated from D-Class personnel, with any use left to the discretion of Dr_. At least 10 D-Class personnel are to use a powered machine per month for experimentation and fulfilling the agreement. Should it be unnecessary to store surplus instances of SCP-XXXX, they are to be destroyed and recycled.

Any invoices that are discovered, are to be removed as soon as possible and cause of death is attributed to organ failure, as is in line with most recipients. Surviving recipients are to be given Class A amnestics and future invoices are to be redirected to foundation facilities. Due to manifestations of SCP-XXXX-1, any D-Class personnel that have organ complications are to be moved to Site_ to intercept arrivals of SCP-XXXX-1.

Description:

SCP-XXXX is a slot machine operated by a 'Organic Gambling Inc', with the distinctive display of a cartoon-style skeleton on the top and broken hearts on both sides of the machine and measuring 76cm wide and 186cm in height (206cm with the inclusion of the display). It requires a power supply and provides an electronic user interface as is standard amongst modern slot machines.

Should anyone approach SCP-XXXX, its system will boot up and will welcome the player. SCP-XXXX then prompts the user to input any non-monetary rewards that they will desire, then asking the User to select one of the following organs as 'collateral', with the more 'valuable' organs increasing the odds of winning. These include:

1. A singular kidney (with no increased odds)

2. A singular lung (with a 5% increased chance)

3. A heart or a brain (with a 10% increased chance)

Should the user win by matching a set of images, their rewards will manifest at their current residence (temporary or permanent) and have proven to be genuine. In the event of a loss, the organ selected will be removed from the user's body which can lead to their death or complications similar to a surgery. Subsequent autopsies have revealed that the organs were removed in a surgical manner, despite no penetration of the skin. It is currently unknown how the organs are removed or how they are extracted by Organic Gambling.

Later, a suitable recipient (often someone in urgent need of a transplant) will have the organ transplanted. The recipient will shortly after be met by an instance SCP-XXXX-1, who are 'representatives' of Organic Gambling and be served with an invoice of the organ received and a billing address unique to each invoice, demanding payment within a specified deadline. Should the recipient fail or refuse to pay the amount in the deadline, the organs are subsequently removed. The recipient often dies shortly after as a result of complications. The appearances of SCP-XXXX-1 instances vary, with the only common features generally being a black suit and a green tie.

Instances of SCP-XXXX have manifested mainly in various casinos and public venues. It often is positioned amongst other slot machines and the means as to how they appear and are placed are unknown. Staff at such venues were unaware of SCP-XXXX's presence until they were directed and asked about them.

The existence of SCP-XXXX first came to the attention of the Foundation after several reports of deaths in casinos with a consistent link to instances of SCP-XXXX. The link between recipients and Organic Gambling was discovered after several invoices were discovered at the house of __ (See Incident Log _). Whilst Organic Gambling was found to have been registered, there has been no trace of its owners or personnel apart from instances of SCP-XXXX-1. It is noted that after Foundation personnel started investigating Organic Gambling and confiscating machines, instances of SCP-XXXX manifested more frequently in small local public venues and less in larger-scale venues and casinos, possibly as an attempt by Organic Gambling to prevent seizures of SCP-XXXX and hindrances to their operations.

Addendum:

An instance of SCP-XXXX-1 appeared at Site_ to deliver an invoice for D-XXXX and was detained by onsite security personnel. After an interview with Dr_, SCP-XXXX-1 made an agreement to restrict manifestations of SCP-XXXX to a specified 15 casinos and public venues, in exchange for the foundation providing D-Class personnel to use the machine.
