SCP-XXXX

Picture taken of SCP-XXXX in an antique shop located in █████

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored within an concrete cell approximately 2.13 meters tall and 1.5 meters wide. No personel are to interact with SCP-XXXX under any circumstances until further testing can be done.

Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be an antique cabinet from the Qing Dynasty, although its actual origins are unknown. The object is 76cm tall and 55.88cm wide with metal barings and hinges appearing to have been exposed to the elements. SCP-XXXX seems to be made of wood from several different, unidentified trees with a small section containing two decorative drawers being lighter than its lower half which can be opened. When opened, SCP-XXXX appears to be an empty cabinet, longer than it appears on the outside. Whenever personel attempted to recieve measurements inside of SCP-XXXX, the object appeared to grow longer inside while remaining the same outside.

When any object, organic or otherwise, is placed within SCP-XXXX, the doors will immediately close and lock shut when nothing is keeping it from doing so. If the object is only partially inside SCP-XXXX, the doors will not close.

Once an item is contained within SCP-XXXX, the doors will not open for 24 hours. Once that time has passed, SCP-XXXX will open automatically to reveal that what had been placed inside is replaced with an exact replica, only made of porcelain and with unqiue, blue patterns across the entirety of the item. The design inscribed seems to be similar to that of Polish pottery, with few differences. Traces of the original item are unknown.

Attempts to record what happens during the 24 hours after SCP-XXXX's doors have closed have resulted in failures. Cameras and radios immediately lose signal, implying that SCP-XXXX possibly causes some sort of interference.

During instances when D-Class Personel were entered within SCP-XXXX, they claimed to feel an overwhelming cold before being overwhelmed with a sudden paralysis in all limbs before eventually reaching their chest. In all cases, Personel could not be heard after reporting the ceasing of feeling in their back and ribs.

A list of items replaced with porcelain replicas by SCP-XXXX include:

  • 1 Steel Compass
  • 1 Leather handbag
  • 2 Chicken eggs
  • 1 Mouse
  • 1 Pacifier
  • 3 Rocks found on-site
  • 2 D-Class Personel
