Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is contained in Humanoid Containment Site-06-3 in a medium-sized containment locker. Video surveillance of SCP-XXXX-1's clock face is to be maintained 24/7. Two (2) MTF are to guard the entrance to SCP-XXXX-1's door at all times. Each time the clock face displays the time 11:50, an overhead mechanical arm is to be manually activated by assigned personnel to turn back the hour hand to 1:00. Should the arm malfunction or generally be in unfit conditions, an assigned researcher is to manually turn back the clock to 1:00. Should the clock reach 12:00, SCP-XXXX-1's room is to be put on lockdown until SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous effects die down. Class-D personnel are not permitted to enter SCP-XXXX-1's room (see Incident XXXX-1).

Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is an analog clock in the shape of a red cartoon heart with two black clock hands. Only the roman numeral for the number twelve (XII) is visible. XXXX-1 is made out of a combination of hard enamel and a second unidentified metal. The surface of SCP-XXXX-1 is smooth and reflective. The word "Perfection" is written on the back of SCP-XXXX-1 in golden ink.

The clock has been shown to occasionally drip an unidentified substance (SCP-XXXX-2) when nearing 12:00. SCP-XXXX-2 usually dissipates between four (4) to nine (9) seconds after reaching SCP-XXXX-1's chamber floor if the clock face does not display 12:00. If SCP-XXXX-1 is allowed to reach 12:00, the clock gradually increases production of this substance until it fills one fifth (1/5) of the room. It is then that the substance groups into one corner and expands vertically until it vaguely resembles a humanoid (SCP-XXXX-2). SCP-XXXX-2 does not appear to have a high intelligence and only attempts to make its way towards the closest living lifeform.

Once SCP-XXXX-2 makes contact, it will begin to absorb the organic being, possibly for food. The victim usually becomes unconscious during this time. Once the victim is fully absorbed, SCP-XXXX-2 will then return to SCP-XXXX-1 and melt into a puddle before seeping back into SCP-XXXX-1.

Addendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered on ██/██/20██ when Dr. K██ bought the clock off of Amazon. The page described no unusual properties of the clock. The account associated with the clock ("midnight3111") has since been taken down. Once the package had arrived, Dr. K found a note reading "12:00 = Nig gpouze pdcxku ma bkbak daa edvb." Dr. K initially thought nothing of the note until 11:54, when Dr. K noticed a dark substance seeping out of SCP-XXXX-1's tight spaces. The clock was brought to the attention of the Foundation, where it was cataloged shortly thereafter.

Addendum XXXX-2: The note that arrived with SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered to have been written in a Vigenére cipher, encrypted with the passphrase "Midnight".

Incident XXXX-1: On ██/██/20██, the first test regarding SCP-XXXX-1 occured. SCP-XXXX-1 was allowed to display 12:00 by Dr. F███████. SCP-XXXX-2 started to form after approximately eight (8) seconds. It then started to trudge in the direction of the 7cm-thick viewing window that separated SCP-XXXX-1 from Dr. F███████ and his small research team. SCP-XXXX-2 soon headed for the door to its containment, where two (2) MTF were guarding on the opposite side.

SCP-XXXX-2 melted back into a puddle and seeped under the door (the space between the floor and the door was less than 1/5 of a millimeter). Site-06-3 was put on lockdown as XXXX-2 absorbed an MTF guard. It was then that second guard started shooting at SCP-XXXX-2. Multiple MTF were quickly sent to the scene, where SCP-XXXX-2 attempted to return to SCP-XXXX-1. Shortly thereafter, SCP-XXXX-1's room was fitted with doors with only a distance 1/12 of a millimeter from the floor. SCP-XXXX-2 has displayed its inability to fit under the door's space.
