Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be located in Site-██, in a 0.5m x 0.5m x 0.5m steel container. If a way is found to cryogenically freeze SCP-XXXX,¹ then it is to be cryogenically frozen until a way to either terminate it or permanently contain it is found.

In the event of a breach, an MTF team, wearing protective suits with no openings large enough for SCP-XXXX to fit into, is to be sent to contain SCP-XXXX and all SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 instances.

Testing of SCP-XXXX must be done in a room where there is:

• No electric equipment inside.
• No spaces large enough for SCP-XXXX to escape.
• No personnel or other SCPs inside, unless testing SCP-XXXX on the SCP.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a virus with the ability to infect both animals (including humans) and electricity-powered technology. SCP-XXXX CAN ONLY BE INSIDE ONE THING AT A TIME, BUT EFFECTS LAST AFTER SCP-XXXX EXITS THEIR BODY. It is currently theorized that SCP-XXXX is sentient.

Humans/animals infected with SCP-XXXX, being referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, go through the following:

1. They will immediately become unconscious.
2. After 5 minutes, they will regain consciousness.
3. Their bones/cartilage are replaced with steel.
4. They no longer need food or water to survive.
5. Their memories are completely erased.
6. They will communicate what instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will want them to communicate for them.²
7. They will be under the command of instances of SCP-XXXX-2.

Electricity-powered technology infected with SCP-XXXX, referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, go through the following:

1. It turns off for 5 minutes, before rebooting.
2. It no longer requires electricity to run.
3. It will constantly try to find ways to kill humans/animals, and will try to protect plant life.

SCP-XXXX does not infect plants. SCP-XXXX seems to spread at different speeds depending on what it is infecting. (See Addendum-XXXX-A.)

Discovery: SCP-XXXX first takes place in the town of ██████, Illinois. The Foundation was contacted when crime kept happening more and more in the town, with a noticeable pattern of where it took place. An MTF team was sent, and they were infected by SCP-XXXX. The town went on lockdown, and anybody who went outside was punished by law. Many instances of SCP-XXXX-1 and -2 were found, and most were terminated. An instance of SCP-XXXX-1, and an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 were brought to Site-██. SCP-XXXX was contained safely by an MTF agent weeks later.

Results	Report of audio recorded: A human voice saying: "I have been given life. Where is another like me? I can't see. I need something to let me see. Do you hear me?"

After this, a containment breach occurred. Although no people were infected, pieces of technology were and had to be destroyed.
