Item #: SCP-4295
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4295-1 is currently contained in Containment Area-25 in an 10 m x 10 m x 5 m chamber, guarded by two (2) Class-C personnel. Additional items may be placed in the chamber for testing purposes. Entry into the containment cell is highly restricted to reduce the chances of an activation and/or containment breach. If entry into the cell is required, personnel must be accompanied by one (1) of the aformentioned Class-C personnel, for purposes of identifying SCP-4295-1. Objects placed in the containment cell must be meticulously documented and recorded using an Object Placement Report-4295. Recordings must include a detailed object description, where the object was placed, the orientation of the object, and the date and time the object was placed in the cell. Prior the removal of object(s) from the cell, previous documents concerning the object(s) must be consulted. If there are any discrepancies between the object's current state and the associated Object Placement Report-4295, it must be reported immediately to the Senior Researcher assigned to SCP-4295.
Description: SCP-4295 consists of 3 different entities: SCP-4295-1, SCP-4295-2, and SCP-4295-3. SCP-4295-1 and SCP-4295-3 are observable by all, however, SCP-4295-2 is only observable by SCP-4295-3. All testing is to be performed using Class-D personnel.
SCP-4295 was discovered during a routine patrol on 23/██/20██ at approximately ███hrs by a patrol of eight soldiers belonging to [REDACTED] Brigade Group during an overseas deployment in Afghanistan. Discovery of SCP-4295 led to Incident 4295-A (See Interview 4295-1), bringing SCP-4295 to the attention of the Foundation.
SCP-4295-1 is a Level IV Mobile Polymorphic Entity, capable of assuming an undetermined; possibly infinite number of different appearances, albeit with a degree of consistency. SCP-4295-1 is always observed to be some form of small structure, never exceeding 4 meters in height, 8 meters in width, and 8 meters in depth. SCP-4295-1 has been observed taking the form of a doghouse, an office cubicle, a tent, an outhouse, and other similarly sized structures.
SCP-4295-1 displays a degree of sentience; always mimicking the structures in the surrounding area. When viewed from the outside, the interior of SCP-4295-1 shows no abnormalities or anomalies. SCP-4295-1 is activated upon a living person entering the entity, and SCP-4295-1 will always change location upon activation. Distance from the previous location varies from less than 100 meters to [REDACTED] kilometers. If the environment is altered without SCP-4295-1 being activated, SCP-4295-1 will change it's appearance and location the moment it is not being observed. It has been noted that under these circumstances, SCP-4295-1s new location will be 10 meters or less from the previous. SCP-4295-1 is never observed in motion, moving instantaneously to a new location. High speed cameras have been used in an attempt to view the entity in motion, however upon reviewing the footage, SCP-4295-1 simply vanishes in a single frame. Any attempts to affix SCP-4295-1 in place have failed. Ropes, chains, glue, tracking devices, or any other device(s) used in attempt to keep SCP-4295-1 immobile are simply left behind once SCP-4259-1 has been activated.
SCP-4259 is activated upon a living creature crossing the threshhold into the entity. Activation will not occur with deceased test subjects, nor with inanimate objects. Upon activation, SCP-4259-1 will move locations, however, it is unknown what becomes of the subject (Henceforth known as SCP-4295-2). Use of imaging devices; such as x-rays, thermal imaging cameras, and CAT/CT scanners have shown no forms of life within SCP-4295-1 after activation. Placing tracking devices on test subjects have proved futile, as no signal is recieved from the device after activation of SCP-4295.
It has been observed that the last person to witness a test subject before entering SCP-4295-1(Henceforth known as SCP-4295-3) experience extremely traumatic and graphic dreams/visions of SCP-4295-2 being [DATA EXPUNGED] by an unknown being. These visions only occur when SCP-4295-3 enters REM sleep. Despite SCP-4295-3 entering REM sleep, these visions appear to prevent the body and mind from benefiting off sleep. Use of Class-A through D amnestics have no effect on these visions. Data shows that within 5-7 days there is a ██% chance of SCP-4295-3 [REDACTED].
