Working Title: Wet paint
First thoughts:
"You can tell a man that the stars are a hundred thousand light years away and he'll believe you, but if you hang a sign that says "Wet paint - Do not touch" he has to touch it to find out".
SCP-XXX currently takes the appearance of a patch of 'Duck-egg blue' paint patch on a wall inside the prestigious [REDACTED] gallery. Approximately one square metre, adjoining the 'paint patch' is what appears to be a hand-written paper sign bearing the legend 'WET PAINT - Do Not Touch!!"
The patch bubbles and blisters when aggravated with hair-dryers, emitting the odour of bubble gum.
Clearly sapient - There a devious, developed intelligence at work given the linguistic aspect of the 'Wet Paint - Do not touch' sign and a presumed knowledge of the human propensity to do exactly that. Speculation that SCP-XXX may have the capacity to alter its form.
Revealed by CCTV footage of a disappeared Gallery custodian..
Containment - Contained in plain sight of the viewing public as it cannot be safely removed without being touched. Experiments to 'coax it' into a receptacle A frame has been placed around SCP-XXX fronted with toughened, plexiglass. It's presence is accounted for by a sign attributing the work to
a fictionalised modern artist. SCP-XXX remains under constant observation by …… in the guise of a disinterested and chronically bored gallery attendant. The public displays almost no interest in it.
