Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX Is to be kept in a .5 m x .5 m x .5 m vault with a three factor identity verification system. The vault is to be guarded by a single volunteer to limit any attempt by personnel without at least a Level 3 security clearance from accessing SCP-XXXX. The volunteer must also present during any research being conducted on SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a seemingly normal black velvet top hat that appears to have been produced sometime between 1880 and 1930. The interior of SCP-XXXX is lined with red velvet and possesses a degrading leather band where it would meet the brow. This band is etched with the letters A and H, presumed to be initials for a name. SCP-XXXX was recovered on the outskirts of ██████████, Ohio whilst it was in the possession of ██████ ██████, a local magician who had received a multitude of attention within the previous days. Within the aforementioned time frame multiple events of increasingly alarming magnitude had occurred. After testing these events have now been linked to SCP-XXXX. When SCP-XXXX is worn by an entity with elevated mind functions (see test log SCP-XXXX-A), it can produce the object or scenario desired by the entity. Additionally, SCP-XXXX will produce an object or scenario that can be extremely dangerous to the general population (See test log SCP-XXXX-B).

Test A - 12/23/16

Subject: SCP-XXXX, SCP-096

Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be placed on the head of SCP-096 by a D Class personnel. This subject is to then provoke SCP-096 and the results are to be recorded.

Results: SCP-096 did not show any signs of using SCP-XXXX and continued to [DATA EXPUNGED] as normal

Analysis: From this test it has been concluded that SCP-XXXX only produces a result for entities with elevated brain functions.

Subject: SCP-XXXX

Procedure: Use SCP-XXXX to produce the desired object or scenario of Dr. █████. The exact time of production will be noted. During this, analysts will be monitoring CCTV cameras around the world for possible disasters. The time of any disaster that should occur will be noted. These times will then be compared in an attempt to find a correlation. Once this has concluded, SCP-XXXX is to tested again with a different researcher.

Results: .001 seconds after a cheeseburger materialized in Dr. █████, the alarm indicating that SCP-682 was attempting containment breach was tripped. Additionally, it was noted that after a researcher carried out two (2) tests, rather than the previously stated one (1) test per researcher, that the event caused had heightened in severity as SCP-4166 successfully breached containment resulting in two (2) casualties.

Analysis: After multiple tests, and multiple attempted containment breaches, It has been concluded that SCP-XXXX had caused the attempted breaches and that it only has a area-of-effect and can not create negative scenarios anywhere in the world. It has also been noted that if the entity wearing SCP-XXXX continues to use it without first allowing another entity to use it first, the negative outcome produced by SCP-XXX will increase in severity. If this increase is exponential, it could possibly result in a K-Class end-of-the-world scenario, but further testing is required.

After testing, it has been concluded that the first negative scenario produced by SCP-XXXX is minor and could possibly be outweighed by the positive effects that it creates. Due to this possibility, it has been requested that the O5 council reclassify SCP-XXXX as Thaumiel to be used to potentially avert a K-Class end-of-the-world scenario. As of now the reclassification request is still pending.
