Inside SCP-4476

Item #: SCP-4476

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4476 is to be kept in a standard containment locker at site-74 when not in testing. Determining the origin of SCP-4476 is considered a priority, and whether or not it is part of a larger anomaly. A probe that is capable of maintaining signal contact with the Earth while on the other side of the sun is being developed. Current theories being tested for the origin of SCP-4476:

  • SCP-4476 is it's own anomaly and does not have an origin relevant to its containment
  • An unknown anomaly located on the far side of the sun that affected SCPF probe 22-Epsilon and somehow transported it back to Earth
  • A class 2 dimensional rift on the far side of the sun that leads to an alternate dimension that launched a probe similar to SCPF probe 22-Epsilon at the same time as baseline
  • An anomaly that copied SCPF probe 22-Epsilon and sent it to Earth

The signal transponder from SCP-4476 is disabled, and is only to be turned during testing or collection of data.

Description: SCP-4476 is a long range space probe resembling SCPF probe 22-Epsilon, a probe that was sent on a mission to orbit the sun on 06/14/2014 in order to start monitoring the solar system for anomalies that could be obscured by the sun. SCP-4476 is identical to 22-Epsilon except that it is inverted from left to right. The nameplate on the probe reads:

SCP Foundation Long Range Probe
22-Epsilon

Signals produced by SCP-4476 are standard encrypted Foundation automated probe communications, although inverted as well. SCP-4476 was found when site-74, the control center for all long range SCPF space probes, started picking up the inverted signal from SCP-4476 24 hours after 22-Epsilon had ceased communications to travel behind the sun. Site-74 long range probe command was able to send inverted signals to SCP-4476 to order it to course correct to be intercepted by Earth. SCP-4476 was picked up after it had reentered Earth's atmosphere and crash landed in the Atlantic sea.
