SCP-5078: The Allergen
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-5078

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5078 is to be kept in a hermetically sealed room furnished with basic living amenities, including a washroom and a bed, as well as chairs and a bookcase for entertainment. SCP-5078's room is have regular oxygen circulation through several sets of extremely fine filters so as to prevent a breach. Guards and researchers visiting SCP-5078 are to wear level A hazmat suits at all times when in contact with SCP-5078, and are to thoroughly wash themselves and the suits in running water immediately after visiting or interviewing SCP-5078. All water used in washing is to be evaporated and the remaining precipitate and residue incinerated. All guards and researchers visiting, supervising or interviewing SCP-5078 are to carry epinephrine injectors on their person at all times in case of accidental contact with SCP-5078 or SCP-5078-A. SCP-5078 himself carries an Epinephrine injector on his person voluntarily in case any guards or researchers are forgetful.

Description: SCP-5078 is a 25-year-old human male believed to be of European origin. He is approximately 1.71 meters tall and weighs about 142 pounds. SCP-5078 appears to be borderline anorexic, which SCP-5078 himself attributes to a lack of gut microorganisms; SCP-5078 reasons that this lack of internal microorganisms causes his digestive tract to be abnormally inefficient when it comes to digesting food. Samples taken from SCP-5078's gut have confirmed this.

Human beings have an extreme allergic reaction to SCP-5078's body and cells; any human who touches anything originating from SCP-5078's body, including hair, skin, blood, saliva, and dust containing his skin cells (all of which are categorized under the general name SCP-5078-A when separate from SCP-5078 himself) will suffer extreme anaphylactic shock, and death usually occurs within two minutes of unexposed contact with SCP-5078 or SCP-5078-A. Because such particles are often microscopic and can easily propagate out of a typical containment cell, stringent containment procedures must be followed to ensure that SCP-5078 or SCP-5078-A does not accidentally contaminate or kill another person, therefore earning SCP-5078 his Keter classification. Experiments have shown that domestic animals, such as dogs, cats, and horses, suffer anaphylactic shock when exposed to samples of SCP-5078-A. Interestingly, wild animals that traditionally do not get allergies, such as wild birds, reptiles and even feral hogs have shown an allergic reaction to samples of SCP-5078-A. Fortunately, the drug Epinephrine combats the effects of SCP-5078 and SCP-5078-A effectively, and has saved the lives of more than a few Class-D personnel.

SCP-5078 enjoys reading books, and participates eagerly in interviews and tests, confiding in researchers that he wishes for the Foundation to develop a vaccine for himself.
