Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4372 is to be kept in a key-card locked safe in Chamber #████ at Research Site #███. If testing is wished to be done, it can only be opened with key cards with level 5 clearance. The safe will be kept in a small room, which is also key-card locked, needing the same clearance level.
Description: SCP-4372 is a undistinguished book, at first having a blank cover with no writing on the front, back, or spine. The cover is azure in color. There are 587 pages, however they are initially blank. The cover and pages will remain blank until a human (at which point, they are dubbed SCP-4372-A) picks up SCP-4372.
Once SCP-4372-A comes into contact with SCP-4372, they must pick a task which they wish to learn how to do. Once SCP-4372-A has chosen, all details and steps will show up on the first page they turn to, even if SCP-4372-A closes the book and opens to a different page. It will give specific details and notes, and if followed, the information can even be used to execute seemingly impossible or supernatural tasks.
Within 7 days of SCP-4372-A opening the SCP-4372, events will always lead them into a situation that requires them to preform the learned task. This is unavoidable, and it is important for SCP-4372-A to correctly execute the task, according to SCP-4372's notes.
Failure to complete task correctly will cause SCP-4372-A to slowly forget everything they have learned, starting with recently acquired knowledge, moving towards information learned earlier in their life. Eventually, SCP-4372-A will forget all education, and their body will even forget how to pump blood or breath oxygen.
If they correctly accomplish the task, SCP-4372-A may continue on in life with no ill effects. SCP-4372-A will remember what they learned, however will forget completely about the existence of SCP-4372.
Addendum: SCP-4372 is classified as Keter due to the possible scenarios that may arise from using it. Since SCP-4372 can theoretically teach anything, it is possible for someone to learn something that will cause a end-of-the-world scenario, such as learning how to ██████████ using a ████████, or learning how to release SCP-████. Other problematic or dangerous scenarios include:
- "How to get away with murder"
- "How to overthrow the ██████████"
- "How to become God"
Since SCP-4372-A will inevitably be lead to a situation where they can actually complete the task learned, SCP-4372 is dangerous and must be kept according to Special Containment Procedures, listed above.
