Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedure: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a large steel cell with two sets of doors. The cell must contain a remotely controlled air conditioner unit and humidifier. Humidity must be kept as low as possible and temperature be kept at 20 degrees Celsius to prevent unpredictable spread of object matter. Object is to be anchored on a piece of wood, and placed in the center of the room. When testing SCP-XXXX, the subject must be wearing a hazmat suit and must lock the first door before opening the second. DO NOT OPEN BOTH DOORS AT THE SAME TIME. This may result in object’s containment breach. Once subject is inside and both doors are locked, testing may begin.
In the case of a containment breach, the temperature of the areas in which SCP-XXXX must be set to 20 degrees Celsius and humidity as low as possible. SCP-XXXX mustthen be removed from areas by hazmat team and placed in sample jars within the object’s original cell.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a colony of dark red fungal spores originally discovered in the [REDACTED]. Object is of parasitic nature, and was discovered in the bodies of 4 male natives. Once the object came in contact with the men, it rapidly spread throughout their bodies. Within 10 minutes, object had killed all 4 hosts, and had taken over their bodies. The chest cavities of the hosts split apart; the rib cage acting as a set of doors. From the cavities spilled the hosts entrails. The bodies, being driven by SCP-XXXX, then began walking as quadrupeds, but with their chests facing upward, rather than towards the ground. In order to achieve this, the elbows of the hosts were broken, causing them to bend in the opposite diresction. Most notably, mask-like protrusions emerged from the hosts’ faces. Once this happened, the entrails began to levitate out of the cavities up towards the sky. The re-animated corpses then became extremely aggressive, but were [REDACTED] with relative ease.
The same events have been recorded when exposing SCP-XXXX to 5 dogs while in containment testing, and all specimens are now kept in 5 steel cells next to the original colony. Because of the nature of the fungus, all 6 specimens (the colony and the dogs) are considered the same SCP.
