SCP-5070
Object Class: Safe
WARNING: DO NOT OPEN CASE, EXTREME DANGER, AUDIO HAZARD
SPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEDURES:
SCP-5070 is to be kept in a small bulletproof glass container. The container must be layered with a liquid resembling blood, whether real or fake. The liquid must be layered on every 2 days via D Class personnel. No one is to open SCP-5070's case under any circumstances, unless under order by Level 4 class researchers and above
DESCRIPTION:
SCP-5070 Is an antique phonograph. SCP-5070 emits a defining pitch when anything living gets within 15 meters of the object. The zone in which SCP-5070's effect takes place has been dubbed the "Kill Zone," due to the pitch's horrible effects. The pitch causes extreme ear pain and brain damage until the victim gets out of the Kill Zone, which has only been accomplished once by Dr. Cramer, the lead researcher of SCP-5070. Anyone caught within the Kill Zone will die within 10 seconds of continuous exposure, and cannot escape.
Any case of anyone being caught in this is referred to as SCP-5070-1.
Very little things can stop SCP-5070's pitch from harming anyone in it's Kill Zone. These things include blood from one's self, liquid from SCP-354, and SCP-2295. SCP-2295 is not affected by the pitch, and will thus block SCP-5070-1's ears, whether with its hands or with stuffing from itself. It is not yet known how SCP-2295's stuffing prevents the sound from reaching SCP-5070-1. If the victim suffered any damage from SCP-5070, SCP-2295 will attempt to fix 5070-1 with only things from itself, despite the availability of other things it will usually use.
EXPERIMENTATION:
SCP-5070 has been in The Foundation's possession for several months now, and during that time several experiments have taken place, 3 interactions with other SCP's, and 5 interactions with D class personnel.
However, the information of all but two of these tests have been redacted.
It should be noted that whenever SCP-5070 is being recorded while active, no one can hear SCP-5070, no matter if it's live or pre-recorded.
When interacting with SCP-096, SCP-096 started screaming louder than it ever had before, reaching a height of 250-[REDACTED] dbs
After 15 seconds of exposure, SCP-096 started scratching and banging at the walls, although with SCP-5070's effects, it couldn't break through. After 2 and a half minutes of exposure, SCP-5070's case was shut. Immediately, SCP-096 started pacing around the room, in an agitated state. After 2 minutes, he returned to his normal position and proceeded crying, at a recorded 34 dbs louder than usual. After 13 minutes of this, SCP-096 calmed down and returned to its normal state.
Addendum 5070-1 Experiment log 1
Subject D-14362; Male 34, history of arson and 2 counts of public urination.
Supervising Researcher: Dr. Alex Cramer
Location: Site Alpha (SCP-5070's original location) in [REDACTED]
Subject D-14362 is requested to step forward. Subject D-14362 does so as requested, and immediately starts convulsing and foaming at the mouth. After 3 seconds, the subject's ears start to bleed. After 3 more seconds of torture, the subjects eardrums and veins burst. After another 4 seconds of continued convulsing, the subject's [REDACTED], due to an overflow of blood in the brain.
Dr. Cramer: "Make a note about how the subjects blood didn't stop the sound after entering the kill zone."
Researcher 1: "Got it, but what about the part of the subject's head [REDACTED]? We're just not going to touch on that part?"
Dr Cramer: "No, make a note of that too. That is very interesting, that hasn't happened before. Alright take out the test subject, and bring in the next. We're going to run this again to see what happens if the subject is asleep during this."
