Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 30cm by 30cm reinforced glass case. The chamber containing SCP-XXXX is sealed, and can only be opened by personnel of Level 3 clearance or higher via keycard and optical scanner. Any testing of SCP-XXXX is to be authorised by Dr. M█████.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a white, ceramic coffee mug. A design is printed on SCP-XXXX and covers most of the outside surface area. It depicts a number of bears engaging in sexual acts such as [REDACTED]. SCP-XXXX was designed by company ██████&██, which sells cooking supplies and utensils online.
SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effect can be experienced when a consumable beverage is poured into SCP-XXXX, and is ingested.
SCP-XXXX stimulates a release of a random hormone. Only seven different hormones (Parathyroid hormone, glucagon, insulin, gastrin, prolactin, human growth hormone, erythropoietin) out of some fifty have been observed to be released so far; it is unknown whether SCP-XXXX can trigger a mass release of every known hormone in the human body.
Test-XXXX-A
Procedure: D-7278 instructed to make milk tea inside of SCP-XXXX. D-7278 then instructed to consume milk tea.
Results: After five minutes of waiting, D-7278 began to show signs of severe hypoglycaemia. Blood sample taken, and D-7278 given a glucagon shot. After recovering, D-7278 led back to cell without any other adverse effects.
Notes: After analysing D-7278's blood sample, it was noted that the insulin levels were unusually high. This would have lowered the blood-sugar level of D-7278 and caused the hypoglycaemia.
Test-XXXX-B
Procedure: D-8943 instructed to repeat above procedure.
Results: D-8943 waited in chamber for half an hour. Nothing appeared to happen. Blood sample taken, D-8943 returned to his cell.
Notes: Analysis of D-8943's blood sample revealed a large amount of Human Growth Hormone, or somatotropin. Indeed, when D-8943 was interviewed a week after the experiment, he admitted to feeling stronger. Testing revealed significantly more muscle mass than one week prior.
Test-XXXX-C
Procedure: D-8561instructed to make and consume milk tea via SCP-XXXX.
Results: After consuming milk tea, D-8561 waited in testing chamber for half an hour. Blood sample taken, D-8561 returned to cell.
Notes: Blood sample contained high amounts of parathyroid hormone (PTH). One week afterwards, D-8561 complained of muscle pain and nausea. Investigation revealed that D-8561 had contracted hyperparathyroidism due to elevated PTH levels.
Test-XXXX-D
Procedure: D-8921 instructed to drink three cups of water from SCP-XXXX in under thirty seconds.
Results: Nothing appeared to happen. D-8921 waited in chamber for half an hour. However, when blood sample was taken and the needle withdrawn, D-7278 continued to bleed extensively. Subject taken to the medical bay, and the bleeding only stopped when clotting agent was administered. Throughout the process, D-8921 lost over a litre of blood. However, D-8921 reported feeling fine throughout.
Notes: It seems that D-8921 now regenerates blood as soon as it is lost. Interesting effect. More testing definitely required. - Dr M█████.
Test-XXXX-E
Procedure: D-8864 instructed to drink seven cups of water from SCP-XXXX.
Results: D-8864s flesh grew at an accelerated rate, expanding at about 5 cm3per second. Any contact with this flesh resulted in immediate fusion by unknown means and eventually the victim would be absorbed. Subject terminated via incendiary grenades and flamethrowers after 7 casualties.
Recovery Log:
SCP-XXXX was brought to the Foundation’s attention when a call involving ‘man vomiting acid’ was reported in ██████████, Australia. It appears that SCP-XXXX triggered a release of gastrin, which caused an overflow of acid in the stomach. Media coverage was suppressed, and the body was confiscated and cremated before autopsy could be performed. SCP-XXXX was retrieved and placed in containment.
Item #: SCP-2XXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2XXX is kept in a 50cm by 50cm by 50cm steel reinforced safe. Two security cameras survey the entire room with one operator monitoring live feed at all times. At least one armed Foundation guard is to watch the entry to SCP-2XXX's chamber at all times. Due to the capabilities of SCP-2XXX, any attempt at entry without proper authorisation will result in immediate termination. During testing of SCP-2XXX, D-class personnel are to be fitted with explosive collars. Additionally, D-class personnel are not to come into contact with SCP-2XXXX. Any testing, research or experimentation with SCP- 2XXX must first be authorised by
Dr. S███████. SCP-2XXX's containment chamber and container are to be disinfected every week or after testing or experimentation.1
In the event of a breach of security in SCP-2XXX's containment chamber and/or misuse of SCP-2XXX, protocol Birdseye will be initiated.
Description: SCP-2XXX is an old, windup Kawai brand metronome. On the right surface of SCP-2XXX, a peg is located, which is used for winding up SCP-2XXX and an adjustable slide indicating the note value of the beat that SCP-2XXX produces.
SCP-2XXX works like any other metronome of its make; winding up the peg gives the metronome kinetic energy to use for swinging the pendulum at the front from side to side, producing a click every time the pendulum changes direction. Using the sliding weight on the pendulum at the front, the frequency of the clicks can be changed in beats per minute. The maximum and minimum BPM of SCP-2XXX is 208 and 40 respectively.
SCP-2XXX's anomalous properties can be observed after winding up SCP-2XXX, setting a time from 40 BPM to 208 BPM with the slider and starting the pendulum. When this process is completed, SCP-2XXX's anomalous effects will affect a sphere with a radius of three metres around SCP-2XXX.
If the sliding weight is set to 60 BPM, there will be no difference between the affected area and the area outside of the three metre area. However, if the slider is set to above or under 60, organic material, light, sound, air pressure and air currents within the sphere appear to experience an accelerated or decelerated perception of time.
Subjects placed within SCP-2XXX’s area of effect have reported a perception of time opposite to what people outside of the area of effect are experiencing. Setting the slider to 208 BPM causes matter inside the area of effect to experience a flow of time about two hundred times faster than normal. When one D-Class personnel was asked to wait inside of the affected area for twenty minutes while the BPM was set to 208, he emerged only six seconds later. When questioned, subject reported waiting for twenty minutes, and seeing all action outside of the affected area as “Real fuckin’ slow.”. Moving the slider one BPM up or down results in an estimated 1% acceleration or deceleration of the flow of time within SCP-2XXX's area of effect. Subjects in SCP-2XXX's area of effect do not notice any change in their environment, in the subjects perspective they are moving normally. To anyone inside the affected area, it seems like the outside world has been affected rather than themselves.
Note that SCP-2XXX is one of the few SCP objects useful to the Foundation. It has been used in several military and capture situations with great effect. In saying this, Foundation personnel using SCP-2XXX must take great care to keep all body parts within SCP-2XXX's area of effect. See Test Log 24/2/██.
If we could replicate and enhance the effects produced then calibrate it to not affect the user…. Think of all the possibilities… – Junior Researcher Collins
That’s actually a good idea. If we could replicate this and enhance the effects it could be used as an effective mute device if it was calibrated to only affect sound waves. - Dr S███████.
5/2/██: Experiment Procedures: SCP-2XXX set to 40BPM, and Junior Researcher Collins instructed to throw ordinary baseball through SCP-2XXXs area of effect.
Results: When baseball entered affected area, it was decelerated from previous 80mph when thrown. When baseball left affected area it accelerated to 80mph.
24/2/██:Experiment Procedures: SCP-2XXX wound up, set to 160BPM, started and locked in safe. D-6490 was then instructed to stand with half of his body inside of SCP-2XXXs area of effect and half of his body outside. D-6490 told to walk around the perimeter of SCP-2XXXs affected area.
Results: [DATA EXPUNGED].
Notes: This type of experiment with SCP-2XXX is not to be repeated with living organisms. - Dr Y██████.
3/3/██: Experiment Procedures: SCP-2XXX set to 208bpm and started. Junior Researcher Collins given a day's worth of supplies and a tablet fully charged, with instructions to wait inside SCP-2XXX's area of effect for 24 hours. SCP-2XXX to be wound up if necessary.
Results: Junior Researcher Collins emerged 7 minutes and 12 seconds later. All food and water had been consumed, and tablet battery reduced to 14%.
Notes: It seems that all natural processes and electricity are affected by SCP-2XXX. Maybe possible to try aging some Bordeaux? - Dr W█████.
Why not? - Dr S███████.
4/3/██: Experiment Procedures: SCP-2XXX set to 208 bpm. One year old bottle of Bordeux placed inside a closed box within SCP-2XXX's area of effect and left for 55 days. Winding permitted if necessary. Wine described as "Very tart, with a dry flavour."
Results: As expected, wine aged approximately 30 years. Flavour and appearence of the wine changed. Wine described as "Mellow, with a hint of fruit." Bottle now kept inside Dr W█████'s mini cooler.
Item #: SCP-529-J
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
Special Containment Procedures have, as of yet, not been proven necessary. 'Pebbles' is allowed to roam the lower levels of the facility at her own free will. 'Pebbles' is quite affectionate, but staff are advised not to make any comments about her appearence or weight. Staff are not permitted to feed her more than once a day- she will become greedy if she is given too much food.
Description:
SCP-529-J is a large, fa- hey, Pebbles, what're you- small house cat (felis catus) with grey tabby markings.
Despite having a Special Diet, Please do not feed collar, Pebbles weighs ██ kg and behaves as if she lives for food. Pebbles is VERY sensitive about her weight. If she senses2 criticism about her size or weight, she will run at a top speed of ██km per hour which is shocking for an animal of her size OW! Ouch! Ugh. mmph! mmmmmph!, knock down the offending person and proceed to sit on their face. Due to her weight and bulk, the person will not be able to get up. She will proceed to sit on their face until that person has fainted.
If 'Pebbles' (more like Boulders Oof, gerrof me- mmmmmph!) cannot physically get to her target she will simply phase through walls and objects as if they are not there, or display amazing athletic feats. Pebbles was once observed to leap fifty meters into the air to flatten Researcher ████████, who had stated that "It's a wonder that cat hasn't sunk into the ground.'
Foundation personnel wishing to experience the hopelessness and terror of seeing SCP-096's face are advised to simply say, "Pebbles is fat."
Designation: D-9341, formerly Level 4 Researcher at Site-██. Was given Class-A amnestics and demoted to D-class due to unauthorised and illegal research of the hypothesised anomalous phenomenon [REDACTED].
Name: Benjamin Oliver Walker.
Description: Caucasian male, green eyes, 80-something kilos, height is unknown.
“Subject [REDACTED]. Subject demonstrates extraordinary luck and complete mastery in even the most fatal of circumstances and an uncanny ability to predict even the most unpredictable of hazards, almost as if it has performed these impossible tasks several times before. Further testing is required to determine whether the subject should receive SCP classification.”
It's assumed that his research on the phenomenon [REDACTED] has caused him to gain these abilities.
As for the phenomenon itself, it's hypothesised that it causes the meshing of two dimensions and two beings. When Benjamin dies, the other being lives and is able to learn from his death.
