Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5838-A is to be kept in a locked room in a 1-foot x 1-foot x 1-foot box that isn't transparent. The person who puts SCP-5838-A inside the box is to be blindfolded so he doesn't get put under the effects of SCP-5838. Two guards are to guard the entrance to the locked room containing the box containing SCP-5838-A. Anyone who trespasses into the room and looks at the book will be terminated.
Description: SCP-5838-A is an anomalous book. It may seem ordinary, but anyone who looks at it will be put under the effects of SCP-5838-A. The effects of SCP-5838-A will make its subject become interested in the book and want to read its full contents. As the subject finishes reading the book, the subject will fall asleep, dreaming about the book. As the dream ends, the subject disappears, and, to the SCP foundation's understanding, the subject gets teleported to another dimension, similar to the book's contents, except the person is free. The subject will live there until the subject dies of whatever reason. There is no way of coming back.
If the subject starts reading the book and stops in the middle of the book, the subject forgets everything he read in the book the moment he looks away. The subject starts imagining what could happen next, and when the subject imagines the end of the story, the subject falls asleep, and the subject's dream is whatever he imagined. When the dream ends, the subject gets teleported to his imagined dream and lives on until the subject dies of whatever reason.
SCP-5838-B is the dream that the subject has, and SCP-5838-C is the dimension that subject gets teleported to. These two forms do not have to be contained, for they are only accessible from SCP-5838-A.
The contents of the book are based on the subject's interests. If the subject is interested in horror books, the book from the subject's point of view is based on the horror genre.
