Item #:XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-A should always be placed at the center of a 5 by 5 meter cage made of a reinforced iron frame. Due to the accelerated corrosion of iron by the item's presence, maintenance must be performed every 3 weeks, with SCP-XXXX-A being relocated quickly via a smaller (3 x 3 meter) cage of similar construction if repairs are needed. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 should be contained in containers lined in a ferrous material. To decrease their occurrence, all site staff are forbidden to sleep within 50 meters of the main containment wing of Site-37. As of Incident-XXXX-02, any individuals who have received any substance, up to and including amnestics, which impede on the access of short and/or long term memory are to be disallowed access to Site-37, with punishment up to and including termination acceptable for violators. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to always be treated as hostile upon contact and thus all staff on site must have on their persons an iron-based weapon or a firearm capable of firing iron bullets to eliminate any sightings as necessary. Site personnel are to be constantly on the watch for following shadows and flitting black forms in the corners of their eyes, which are typical of stalking by a XXXX-2 instance. If no weapon is available, quickly running to the nearest area in full sunlight is a staff members best bet for survival.

[AWAITING FURTHER DECLASSIFICATION]
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Containment Procedures: The post office in which SCP-XXXX resides shall be closed indefinitely to the public under the cover of hazardous building repairs. SCP-XXXX itself requires a Level-2 or higher security personnel to double as a guard and help other staff locate passages addressed to them. Any packages relating to civilians should be collected on site then rerouted every 6 hours to the nearest government post office. Any packages relating to a potential breach of containment or security or related to Doctors ██████, ███, or any members of the O5 council are to immediately reported via a dedicated communications system. Any packages related to Groups of Interest should be phoned in and cataloged immediately as with Foundation packages and opened on the spot in a designated temporary testing area in an neighboring abandoned store1. A small task force designated under the working name of MTF Kappa-16 (Letter Boys) is to be constantly on hand to retrieve Foundation staff who receive mail in SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a wall of standard United States Postal Service(USPS) PO boxes located in ████████████, Kansas, the United States of America. There are a maximum of 100 PO boxes (SCP-XXXX-001 to -100) each a light blue color with a identification number on a small metal plaque and a slot for name tags, both on the door. The amount and size of the PO boxes, along with their contents, shift at 12:00 AM each day2. It should also be noted that all attempts to relocate or damage the boxes inevitably fail as the wall will reset to its former position and condition at the aforementioned time.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous traits can be observed starting at 12:00 AM. Every empty PO will have potentially changed shape and location on the wall and will always have a package(s) located inside of them from an unknown sender (hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-3). Any PO boxes that have not been emptied the previous day will simply move position but retain its size and contents. Each PO box will have its previous identification number retained, but will have its name tag replaced with a new name relating to its contents (persons named on these tags are hereby referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, until they open the package). Each and every package will have its top face unerringly covered with the following:
- A message stating in some matter that the sender sees no need to put in their actual address where the return address would be3
- Random stamps of varying amount
- The physical location of the SCP-XXXX-2 instance who's name is stated on the front of the PO box at the time the box was reset
The contents of the package are always an item or items that the selected needed or wanted at some point during the previous day, along with a letter with a short, but typically cryptic letter related to the contained item.
Contents have included:
- shotgun shells
- an umbrella
- earmuffs
- [DATA EXPUNGED]
- 2 ear plugs made of ████
- A collection of human phalanges (finger bones)
- A kitten (it was alive, how is uncertain)
- A fake Level-3 ID for Assistant Researcher ████ ███ (the attached letter was taunting in nature, stating "I know how your Foundation works". Further investigation into SCP-XXXX-3 entity's knowledge of the Foundation is ongoing)
- A bucket full of nitroglycerin
- A helmet made up of telekill alloy
- [DATA EXPUNGED] (MTF Kappa-16 are to now always have on hand a Level-3 Biological Containment Unit and appropriate hazard gear)
A log of the items that appear in SCP-XXXX and their related SCP-XXXX-2 instances can be found in Document XXXX-A
Addendum XXXX-01:*
Further insight into the actions of SCP-XXXX due to observation of its effect have revealed the following:
- SCP-XXXX seems to adhere to the censorship surrounding the various GoIs it sends packages to including the Foundation
- It has been confirmed that SCP-XXXX can either create the packaged items from seemingly nothing but prefers to pull items already in existence in a 100 km radius of its location
Recovery Log XXXX
SCP-XXXX was recovered by Agent Lemon after an attempted assault of a nearby site by the GOC insurgents led him to retreat into the post office that holds it after running out of ammo. Upon running into the office, with 2 hostiles in pursuit, he banged on SCP-XXXX-082, which was assigned to him and open up to reveal 4 magazines for his then empty weapon. He was able to eliminate the hostiles and send a containment team to SCP-XXXX;s present location
"I just smacked that PO box out of desperation and I had the luck to choose the one that was addressed to me. I should smack stuff more often, might get lucky and get something worth while.
- Agent Lemon shortly after SCP-XXXX's Containment
Item #: SCP-4320
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4320-1 are currently contained to to the interior of Site-11 the entirety of the land referred to as Site-11 (see Incident-4320-02). As the entity's ability to instantly teleport around the confines of Site-11 makes capture efforts difficult, focus should be put on negating this ability in order to capture it. As the entities have teleportation abilities and tend to disappear almost immediately after their effects manifest, attention should instead be focused on locating their parent entity SCP-4320-A and devising methods for containing it.
Description:
SCP-4320 is the collective designation for a group of teleporting, metamorphic entities that most commonly appear as a 30 cm by 15 cm by 10 cm cardboard box, otherwise taking the shape of unassuming inanimate objects which one would normally not second guess for being left lying around on the floor (toolboxes, lunchboxes, pieces of paper, shoes, etc.). This is all done with the main goal of tripping passing humans. These ground-based entities are collectively referred to as SCP-4320-1 and seem to originate from one parent entity, labeled as SCP-4320-A. SCP-4320-A has only been seen once and finding its whereabouts is paramount to this objects containment. It is unsure if the SCP-4320-1 entities are sentient, however their behavior has shown that they are to some degree.
While SCP-4320-1 can theoretically turn into any inanimate object, they still have some defining characteristics no matter the form which separate them from the mundane objects they mimic:
- The object is always solid, or mostly solid, no matter the current surrounding temperature.
- Despite all attempts and available resources to the Foundation, the object will appear to be immovable by any means, with no equipment or personnel able to move, pick up, or otherwise disturb the object from its chosen position.
- Anybody who trips on the object will always immediately be ridiculed by nearby individuals.
- The item will unnaturally resist being opened (if such an option exists for its form), often requiring extreme measures to be used to force it open(i.e., a cardboard box requiring a power saw to remove the tape from its flaps).
SCP-4320-1 can teleport freely around the confines of Site-11, unhindered by any countermeasures employed by the Foundation so far, in including [DATA EXPUNDED].
The main effects of SCP-4320 are visible whenever SCP-4320-1 appears in front of an oncoming human. SCP-4320-1 will appear in front of a walking human on the ground, who in all cases is not paying attention to where they are walking. Even if noticed after teleporting, the item is seemingly unavoidable even if personnel can see it and identify it as an anomalous item, and any cases of trying to avoid being tripped up end up in failure (with often a more extravagant result than if they had not tried to avoid it). Once the chosen victim has tripped over the item, they either stumble and fall or stumble and regain balance - these account for 100% of all interactions. The victim will always invariable hit the floor within 1 minute after contact with the item. It is common for an unfortunate series of events to follow said tripping action, such as knocking over a tray of food or running into other personnel. In all eventualities any humans who view the event will burst out in raucous laughter. Even personnel who do not learn of the event until later or view it indirectly but are in a 2 meter radius of the event will begin to giggle or smile without any prior knowledge as to why.
SCP-4320-1 seem to choose their targets at random, something which several personnel state is not the case, with several cases of the item having targeted them. However, this activity is still viewed as random, as almost all staff who have visited the main R&D and containment building have been tripped at least once. It has been noted, however, that SCP-4320-1 entities seem to have a preference for non-permanent personnel, such as visitors and guests, with an instance of a containment inspector having claimed to have been targeted by the entirety seven times throughout their inspection of SCP-████'s containment chamber. The entities will also rarely target more than one human at a time with each appearance, with its pulling effect only being exerted on one person at a time per entity. However, their immovability prevents any outside force from moving the object to preventing the target from tripping.
It should be noted that SCP-4320-1 instances will avoid stairs or anywhere in which tripping a human could result in serious injury or a fatality, instead opting to stay in areas that have a low chance of an individual hurting themselves. It's suspected that the items are merely trying to sustain themselves and the emotions caused by their actions may be what fuel their movements.
Please stop spreading the notion that SCP-4320-1 singles out D-class and those with lesser security clearance, its causing people to focus so much on their feet that they don’t focus on where they are headed! We have lost 2 D-class and one technician to this hoax.

Update 02/23/██: Before this point, SCP-4320 was assumed to have been one single metamorphic entity. However, on this date it was brought to the attention of site staff that SCP-4320 seems to either have duplicated or there are multiple instances in play. Security camera footage has captured 3 simultaneous pranks by the item on 3 separate levels of the Research Wing. The need to find the source of these manifestations is paramount. Descriptions of the item have been updated
Update 05/██/██: After extensive review of supply ledgers for the site, it has been discovered that the first appearance of SCP-4320-1 correlates with the arrival of a cargo transport from Area-██ 2 days prior. The effects of the item are believed to not have manifested at Area-██ due to the storage being a separate building from the main research and containment complex. The unusually high rates of incidents involving storage staff seems to coincide with this hypothesis. Efforts to narrow down the search for the parent entity of SCP-4320-1 have benefited from this finding and discovery is approximated to occur within the next month.
Incident-4320-01:
On 06/17/██, Site-11 security and containment personnel were able to triangulate the rough location of the main instance of SCP-4320 (from now on referenced as SCP-4320-A). Upon entering the storage bay, personnel were immediately tripped over a large piece of plywood on the floor. After taking approximately 4 steps, they were again collectively tripped, this time over a pipe. This cycle repeated for the next 30 minutes until the group collectively ran into a large cargo crate. Upon tentative contact with the crate's surface, it disappeared. From that point onwards, encounters with SCP-4320 spread outside of the main, interconnected Research, Development, and Containment facilities of Site-11 and spread to the entirety of the land mentioned to as Site-11. On the floor where the crate once stood a sore agent retrieved the a torn piece of paper with the following message written on it:
too slow, watch your head
The intent of this message is unclear, and site staff have been told to be on high alert. Following this incident, SCP-4320-1 were not seen within Site-11 until the next major incident and were thought to be neutralized.
Incident-4320-02:
On 06/20/██, Junior Researcher H█████ was walking to the cafeteria in Site-11 residential complex when he abruptly tripped over a door stop, causing 6 agents who where passing by to spill their lunch all over their uniforms. In the resulting confusion Agent R███ witnessed the door stop abruptly vanish. With the reports of 6 additional appearances of SCP-4320-1 spanning from residencies to the parking lot, it is now to be assumed that SCP-4320-1 can now appear anywhere within Site-11. Containment efforts are being renewed two-fold with this development.
Incident-4320-03:
On 07/25/██, Agent T██████ was walking down Hallway 3-B staring at his feet, as is the norm for persons experienced with SCP-4320, when he suddenly walked into a neck-high iron rod strung across the width of the corridor. He then proceeded to stumble backwards, only to trip over an SCP-4320-1 instance. Said rod was confirmed to be a SCP-4320 instance when a janitor attempted to remove it with a diamond-toothed, only for it to repulse all his effort then disappear before the present staffs' eyes. This new entity is referred to as SCP-4320-2. The search to find SCP-4320-A and find ways to contain its instances are now being doubled as the item seems to be gaining or employing new forms to torment staff with.
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: The cave in which SCP-XXXX resides is to have all entrances except the main access sealed and the the main access is to have a reinforced wall with a gate constructed in its mouth. The gate is to be manned on its outside face with 4 Level 4 or higher security personnel at all times. Said gate should be locked and barred at all times unless when allowing access for exploration teams. Both sides of the gate are to be under surveillance via camera at all times. 4 pairs of high intensity spotlights are to be mounted on top of the wall and pointed into the cave. They should be active constantly and are to have 2 backup generators allotted to each pair. All personnel leaving the site are to be subjected to a full body check and a 2 week quarantine before release. Security personnel are to be on the lookout for dark markings on personnel at all times, and any found with such are to be detained immediately. Due to this, all forms of tattoo are prohibited on site. Any persons seeking to gain access to the cave without prior confirmation are to immediately be detained, given a full-body search and an x-ray and escorted off site, given amnesiacs, or terminated, depending on the search and x-ray's results.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of endo-parasites which forcefully replace a host's skeleton with their own skeleton-like body in order to use the host's flesh as a form of camouflage and nourishment. Discovered in a cave in [REDACTED], each stage in these organism's cycle is extremely hostile and hazardous to human life.
SCP-XXXX starts life as SCP-XXXX-1, which resembles a dark, almost black, colored shard of a currently unidentifiable material in the shape of a human skull bone, with a small conic spike on its curved side. The shard will share all the properties of a human skull bone shard of similar size and shape. Upon contact of the spike with any organism with an internal skeleton, the shard will adhere to the organism and merge itself with its flesh, effectively becoming part of its body. The shard will then proceed to follow 3 specific series Stages of transformation:
- Stage 1: The shard will burrow its way to major bone in the organisms skeleton, such as the humerus, fibula, and spine.
- Stage 2: Upon contact the shard will fuse itself to the bone and begin to replace the host's skeleton with matter similar to its own makeup in color, yet stronger. The host will begin to feel a burning sensation emanating from their bones and experience joint stiffness and large amounts of bruising.
- Stage 3: After time period ranging from 3 to 15 minutes, depending on point of contact, the new tissue will reach the skull of the host, where it will then project into their brain, killing them, and liquidate most the remains for use as nutrition, leaving behind the sections necessary for autonomous functions such as breathing. At this point the subject is referred to as SCP-XXXX-2 and should be terminated on sight once brain death has been confirmed outside of testing.
All human-based subjects who reach stage 3 so far immediately begin to feign wellness after their brain is destroyed, most likely as a possible avenue for escaping termination. Terminating subjects at this stage requires only for the extraction and incineration of the skeleton at a minimum as that is SCP-XXXX-2's main avenue of infection.
SCP-XXXX-2 will resemble its host and will retain their memories. How they retain their host's memories is unknown as they destroy their host's brain during their transformation. SCP-XXXX-2 are virtually indistinguishable from normal humans via visual examinations and can only be differentiated non-invasively via X-Ray examinations, in which their bones more resemble plastics or [REDACTED]. When its disguise is revealed, SCP-XXXX-2 will either attempt to kill the witness or burst out of its current body forcefully and infest theirs. After a period of 1 week, SCP-XXXX-2's body will begin to decay if it does not continuously intake nutrients in any form be it intravenous or digestion. However, this seems to only slow the decay process, rather than halt it. The longest the Foundation has been able to extend a SCP-XXXX-2 intance's host's body's life was up to 3 months via sedation and intravenous feeding, after which it rapidly decayed over the course of the following week.
Upon the decay of over 60% of SCP-XXXX-2's host biomass or if forced to by unfavorable circumstances, it will shed its host's body and become known as SCP-XXXX-3. Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 are the origin for SCP-XXXX-1, which arise from its spike-protrusions upon their spines. SCP-XXXX-3 appear normally as human skeletons, but if their host was not a human this may vary. Due to their skeletal nature, SCP-XXXX-3 are extremely hard to distinguish from normal human skeletons in poor lighting conditions. However, shinning a light into their eye sockets will cause them to shine as there seems to be a black-reflective coating at the back of the ocular cavities. Doing so seems to invariably stun the creatures for 15-20 seconds, and this reaction should be abused to the fullest in the unlikely event of an encounter with SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-3 tend to spend most of their time laying still on flat surfaces, or propped against walls, only moving their heads when another SCP-XXXX instance passes by. Exceptions to this occur when it senses a potential host in its proximity through as of yet unknown means. SCP-XXXX-3 have been known to enter a state of hibernation when in to little to no light conditions and are almost completely immobilized. -It is currently unknown how long they can remain in this state.-(See Addendum-XXXX-02). When unrestrained, regardless of light intensity, SCP-XXXX-3 will exit this meditative state and resume normal functions. To date, not one SCP-XXXX-3 instance has been noted to feed or attempt to feed - it is widely accepted that they subsist of off nutrients gained from their time as an SCP-XXXX-2 instance. SCP-XXXX-3 can only be terminated via the destruction of 40% or more of its skull, any less than this will allow it to live on, however it will become much more aggressive in its search for a host.
SCP-XXXX-3 can become SCP-XXXX-2 instances once more by following a chain of events similar to the assimilation carried out by instances of SCP-XXXX-1, except for the following:
- SCP-XXXX-3 will be visible for the majority of the process, as it must merge its entire body with its host. This is assisted by several pacification and numbing agents their hands can pump into their future hosts when first merging
- This merging process will leave being large black hand prints on the host's bodies - these are major identification points for infestations and security should always be on the lookout for such markings during body searches.
- Unlike the quick death employed by SCP-XXXX-1 instances, SCP-XXXX-3 more slowly merges with its host's skull and just as slowly destroy their brains. The reason for this is suspected to be due to size differences.
- SCP-XXXX-3 instances are typically limited to hosts of the same species as their previous host, however very few exceptions have been noted.
Instances of SCP-XXXX-3 that complete this process are thereafter referred to as instances of SCP-XXXX-2 and should be treated as such.
SCP-XXXX were first discovered after local [REDACTED] law enforcement agencies received repeated missing notices for spelunkers who visited the nearby ██████ Cave and numerous reports of "skeletal creatures" seen lurking around the cave's main entrance. These calls were routed through the proper Foundation channels and amnestics and cover stories were deployed as necessary. Provisional Task Force Rho-20 (Skeleton's in the Closet) was sent from a nearby site was to investigate the cave. MTF Rho-20 encountered only black, desiccated human skeletons and one damaged video camera with severely corrupted footage (See Document-XXXX-B) noted to belong to one of the missing persons, but no obvious anomalies or abnormalities. SCP-XXXX was therefore officially recognized when Agent ████, who his team members had mentioned had cut himself after tripping and falling on one skeleton, was revealed to be an instance of SCP-XXXX-2 when an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 burst from his body 3 weeks later in the search for a new host. The instance was quickly terminated via concentrated arms fire and a comprehensive diagnostic was run on all members of Rho-20 who visited the cave. Three more instances of SCP-XXXX-2 were discovered and subsequently incinerated. Site-XXXX was erected over the mouth of ██████ Cave and the current containment procedures were created and enforced. To date, only 5 recorded outbreaks of SCP-XXXX outside of their origin have been noted by the Foundation. However, due to the entity's abilities to easily disguise themselves as humans or animals, an untold amount of SCP-XXXX-2 instances may have escaped the cave prior to Foundation containment. The site staff in the surrounding ██ sites have been informed and warned about the signs of SCP-XXXX incursions.
This document is a audio-visual transcription of the severely corrupted footage recovered from the ██████ Cave by MTF Rho-20 who approached it from a nearby site. The sound had been completely corrupted in many places and the video was patchy and frequently dissolved into static. The recovered footage proceeds as follows:
|
00:00 - The civilians known as R█████, I██, M█████████, and F█████ (mentioned henceforth referenced as R, I, M, and F respectively) are identified standing outside the mouth of ██████ cave. The camera is presumed to be held by the final civilian stated to be in their group, C████ (mentioned henceforth as C).
|
09:00-14:59 - The civilian group enters the ██████ Cave, with the camera-wielder taking the back of their group. The cave itself appears to be limestone based, with the occasional fossil being seen lodged in the cave walls. The cave appears relatively dry, an oddity considering its makeup.
|
15:00-23:00 - [VIDEO CORRUPTED]
|
23:05-27:46 - The video returns to the camera being held by M, with the camera now being focused on C, who appears to have gotten the shard of rock lodged in her leg. The rest of the accompanying group and the camera then turn to rummage through their backpacks for medical supplies. When the group returns their focus to C, they express concern over the shard's apparent disappearance, but C claims that she removed the object herself. Her expression is more wide-eyed than previously however. By 25:36 they resume their trek.
|
27:46-29:01 - At this point the sound briefly returns to the echoes of skittering behind the group, which appear to not notice. At 28:02, a dark form surmised to be an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 tackles R then flails its arms around wildly, striking the video camera once, before getting a grip on R's shirt and flinging her bodily off the cliff edge it is now apparent they were located on. She appears to fall only 1 story, but does not respond to their hails. The dark figure leaps after her and the video cuts out abruptly at 29:01.
|
29:02-31:56 - [VIDEO CORRUPTED]
|
31:57-34:30 - The sound, but not the video flares to life for this period of time. Based of the perceived noises, the group of now 3 are running upon a slightly damp, rocky surface, with the sound of what can best be attributed to bones clacking along the rocks following them.
|
34:31-35:00 - [VIDEO CORRUPTED]
|
35:01-35:20 - I is seen bludgeoning the skull of what appears to be an instance of SCP-XXXX-3 based on a canis lupus familiaris(dog) with a shovel. The video cuts out as F places her hand on his arm. C is not visible for the entirety of this clip.
|
35:21-38:15 - [VIDEO CORRUPTED]
|
38:15-41:01 - The video resumes with patchy audio as the trio of I, F, and M arrive to the still body of R. F kneels besides R's body and I stands besides her. R's body suddenly begins to heave and is soon revealed to be an instance of SCP-XXXX-2. An instance of SCP-XXXX-3, surmised to be the dark figure from earlier in the footage, bursts from R's corpse and leaps at I. F and M begin to attack the instance, which attempts to merge with I. Suddenly, 3 additional instances of SCP-XXXX-3 appear in the corner of the footage. Based on I expression, F is able to warn M of the danger and they are both forced to run from the scene. The video cuts out at 39:50 with the 2 running into an apparently unharmed C. The words "I found an exit" are heard, presumably from C, as the audio finally cuts out at 41:01.
|
41:01-[] - The video with extremely poor audio resumes to the newly reunited trio of C, F, and M walking through an unrecognizable dry, rocky corridor, identical to material previously visible in the video. F and M express their concern of not being able to recognize any of the cave formations they pass. It is noted that the occurrence of fossils. which until this point were only briefly visible and scarce, has grown to the point that fossils now line the floor, ceiling, and walls. The trio finally enter a large, dead end cavern filled with larger fossils and numerous instances of SCP-XXXX-3. F and M appear distressed, while C moves to stand in front of the corridor's entrance. She lifts her shirt to expose large, dark imprints on her abdomen indicative of a recently infested SCP-XXXX-2 instance. C then steps aside to reveal the largest currently known instance of SCP-XXXX-3, which appeared to be based on [DATA REDACTED]. The camera is dropped as M is swept of his feet by the SCP-XXXX-3 instance and the footage finally cuts out to M and F being swarmed by instances of SCP-XXXX-3 as the larger SCP-XXXX-03 instance slowly steps on it.
|
??? - the audio is noted to fade back into existence for approximately 15 seconds, during which only the clacking of claws on rock can be heard, followed by the apparent sound of the video camera being dropped, after which the clacking sound retreats from hearing range.
Addendum-XXXX-02:
Due to the environment of the last pieces of footage recovered from the recorder, current knowledge on SCP-XXXX-3 instances, and the physical appearance of the large instance of SCP-XXXX-3, Foundation scientists fear that [DATA EXPUNGED]. Foundation plants in museums worldwide reviewed the many fossils stored revealing that [DATA EXPUNGED], which if resuscitated could result in a mass release of SCP-XXXX-3 instances worldwide. Efforts to retrieve these fossils have already started, however Foundation specialists estimate that a [REDACTED] amount of the currently uncovered fossils [DATA EXPUNGED].
Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a 2 meter by 2 meter containment chamber in Site-47, which is to be locked via ID card reader and a 10-digit keypad lock, which is to have its password changed monthly. The hallways around the containment chamber are to be superficially symmetrically arranged. SCP-XXXX itself is to be on a 1 meter tall conical spike, which it should balance on automatically - failure for the item to do so is to be immediately reported to the site administrator. Every single surface of the containment chamber is to be coated with a one-ply layer of SCP-XXXX-1. This layer is to be examined at the end of every day and replaced accordingly. Any personnel handling SCP-XXXX are to wear the gloves composed of SCP-XXXX-1 located on a hook on the inside wall of the containment chamber. When SCP-XXXX is being transported, the transport is to be subjected to the same procedures as above. Additionally, the routes being taken must avoid large standing bodies of vegetation (like forests) as often as possible.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be harvested by hand within the containment chamber. When harvesting SCP-XXXX-1 for use in containment, personnel are to leave only the smallest amount of the underlying SCP-XXXX exposed before returning it to its perch.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a weapon of unknown make and origin. Its design resembles that of a 'Z' with a line through the center (commonly referred to as the "hilt"), with the two "arms" on each side of the middle line being blades. The top and bottom lines that make up the letter are curved outwards away from each other so as it resembles an incomplete circle. The object is made up of an unknown green substance with the visual properties of jade, but the physical properties of steel. So far, it has proven to be indestructible, taking extremely long periods of time to damage with diamond-edged power tools, only to repair the damage taken over the course of a few seconds. The bladed edges are extremely sharp and are capable of cutting through almost all introduced materials with ease, including [REDACTED].
The most notable exception to this cutting ability is SCP-XXXX-1, a linen-like material cut into strips and wrapped around the hilt of SCP-XXXX. When strips of the material are cut from the hilt until the green materiel underneath is exposed, it will slowly regenerate until it is completely recovered, taking at most a single hour, however reaching this point is not recommended. Pulling on SCP-XXXX-1 continously as it regenerates will cause a long strip of the material to rapidly generate, stopping only when the pulling force stops. SCP-XXXX-1 nullifies most of the anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX when its effects directly contact it or when covering 80% the object itself. However, this is not suitable for long term containment as direct contact with the blades of SCP-XXXX will slowly erode SCP-XXXX-1 away.
When SCP-XXXX is held firmly at the hilt by a human and swung, 3 spectral after-images of the weapon will be flung from the outwards blade. These after-images are as sharp as SCP-XXXX itself. However, they can only cut objects that hits the edge of their blades - objects that touch the flat of the blades will simply pass through them. Depending on what they hit, these phantasms will have the following effects:
- If it hits a non-symmetrical object or being, the phantom will cut through it and continue to travel - it may do this three more times before fading out of sight
- If it hits a symmetrical object or being, it will pass through it harmlessly then evaporate, unvariably leaving a sense of content and well-being withing living beings
- If it hits a non-plant organism, it will cut through the being, often causing death, and split into 3 copies of itself upon exiting the organism's body. These copies will behave like the original and can repeat this action indefinitely
- If it hits a plant, it will simply replicate and pass through it without causing any harm to the organism
- If it hits SCP-XXXX-1, it will disappear
- If it hits a living organism with SCP-XXXX-1 wrapped around their hands (or varient of such), it will disappear
Each of the 3 after-images will follow these rules unerringly until they follow a path that causes them to de-manifest. In addition to these effects, on collision with any objects, the phantasms will release a spray of what appear to be sparks, however, they inflict numbness instead and are unable to start fires. SCP-XXXX will also emit these phantasms if left on any surface it is unable to balance itself upon. It will begin to glow green and vibrate for approximately 1 minute then begin to emit after-images randomly. The object will continue to do this unless wrapped in SCP-XXXX-1, placed on a surface it can balance on, or it vibrates itself into a balancing position. In addition, the item will emit after-images when rotated while balancing on a point. Wrapping SCP-XXXX in SCP-XXXX-1 until up to 60% of its blades are covered will cause the after images it generates to weaken, only being able to pierce one object per after image before completely disbursing.
The runaway effect of these phantasms makes any single containment of this item near a large body of humans or vegetation a Level-2 threat, and measures are to be taken in such a situation to minimize the spread of the emissions as much as possible.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from a forested river gully in the ██████ Province of China. It was initially discovered after a slew of missing persons cases over the course of a month ended with the discovery of the diced remains of hikers. Local law enforcement covered the area only to be [DATA EXPUNGED]. At this point the Foundation had become involved and after administration of amnesiacs, MTF Pi-10 (Temple Runners) was called to search the aformentioned gully. It was reported to be "unnaturally carved" and "unusually scenic", with potentially artificial origins, however no anomalies where discovered pretaining to the gully itself.

Item #: XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX instances and the plastic containers they are contained in are to be stored in a Level-1 anomalous object containment safe in Site-47's Safe Containment Wing. The safe should be installed with climate controls to create conditions optimal for the preservation of mundane playing cards. Personnel should be careful to not create large tears in the cards to prevent a relocation event. When not in testing SCP-XXXX is not to be handled with human hands. Only Level-2 or higher personnel are permitted to handle SCP-XXXX and all tests should be cleared with Level-3 or higher personnel before hand.
