Item #. SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX must be kept in a 5m x 5m x 20m (lwh) room in which a singular spotlight is to shine in the center of the room. An enclosed ventilation system is to be built within the chamber and lit with LED aisle lights to provide enrichment. Any food, objects, or samples are to be given/taken through these vents. Another 5m x 3m x 10m (lwh) is to be connected by a high security airlock separated from the containment chamber by an 8 cm thick sheet of heated glass. The connected room is to remain completely dark with the exception of aisle blacklights. No light source other than blacklight can be within sight of SCP-XXXX for more than twenty seconds. All electronic devices are prohibited within SCP-XXXX’s containment chamber unless authorized by personnel with Level Three access.

Description:
SCP-XXXX, when contained in a stable light source, appears as a figure covered in heavy tar, the basic form underneath showing through only when the figure is sitting up straight. Upon being submerged in a luminosity of less than 100 lux, it will spare any energy to form a muscular and skeletal structure similar to that of a humanoid, of which it will maintain until the lux levels have risen again. During this time, its outer appearance resembles that of a pure white colored adult human female when in light, but then transfers into a pitch dark figure with bioluminescent eyes and markings mimicking the effects of an industrial blacklight. At 50 lux, it will become hysterical and sprint to the nearest available light source. If no source is in view, it will curl up and sob, all markings fading except those on her neck and chest. This is used as a luring/hunting tactic in hopes of tricking a sentient being into turning on the lights. it will transfer into the brightest light source at top speeds of 86 miles per hour. When in its natural state, its speed reduces to about 5 miles per hour.

SCP-XXXX has proved able to communicate in many languages, including but not limited to, English, French, Spanish, Latin, German, Greek, and two languages specific to SCP-XXXX instances. Instances of SCP-XXXX seem to prefer to communicate in these, one too high for humans to hear without aid, consisting of shrieks and wails of varying length and pitch between 35,000- 45,000 hertz. Any human who is in range of these sounds, despite being unable to hear them, will experience chronic migraines for the following 48 hours. No lethal or lasting effects have been recorded during exposure testing. The other is made of many squeaks, clicks, hums, and moans, all of which appear to be omitted from the luminous markings around the neck. The voices are feminine, each instance having the exact same voice and accent despite where they were discovered. It is theorized that all instances are split from a parent instance through asexual reproduction, though no reproduction of an SCP-XXXX has been recorded by foundation personnel or otherwise. Instances refuse to answer any questions about relations.

SCP-XXXX has been known to favor the company of D-Class personnel, saying that doctors “…scare her.” When asked why, the two instances, SCP-XXXX-1 [DECEASED] and SCP-XXXX-2, began speaking in their second language, as if to indicate that they wanted the interviewers to be aware of the discussion. They never gave an answer. Despite this, the instances seem to enjoy human contact as long as their lights are kept lit. However, the instances will sometimes choose to reject contact, often becoming violent when direct contact is made with some individuals. These occurrences include Dr. [REDACTED], four male Class-D personnel- three deceased, Miss Irene [REDACTED] who was present upon discovery, and eight female class-D personnel- five deceased. In these violent attacks, the instances will speak only in their first language. No further incidents have been reported since the termination of SCP-XXXX-1. XXXX has become increasingly distant from personnel, and has made several requests to see XXXX-1, all of which have been declined.
No connection between incidents has been found, and targets seem to be chosen at random. Further research is advised.

SCP-XXXX is a generally defenseless anomaly, but due to the unpredictable nature and rare episodes of delirious, violent mania, this SCP has been upgraded from SAFE to EUCLID.
Due to these circumstances, no unarmed personnel are to interact directly with any instance of SCP-XXXX until further research is conducted.

Addendum 1-1, XXXX-2: Research Report
Scp-XXXX testing has yielded further hostility results. Upon further cross-referencing, its has been found that the majority of attacks occur most notably on the fourth of any given month, where the SCP seems to be in a constant high-stress state. When asked, Scp- XXXX-2 stated “The death day.” and ceased all communication with all personnel for 48 hours. In this period it was observed to fall into a comatose state of its first form, in which even the loss of light elicited no response.
Interview of Scp-049 confirms to have never interacted with Scp-XXXX, though did comment that the study of the physiology of the instance would be “An interesting and challenging development in [its] research”. Further investigation into the identity of ‘The Doctor’ pending.
Further interrogation of XXXX-2 approved once contact is reestablished.

The following interview was conducted by Doctor Chris Patnich just before SCP- XXXX-2 was relocated from Site 06-3

Interviewer: Doctor Patnich, Site 06-3
Subject: SCP-4807-2
Date: [REDACTED]
Notes: Interview conducted within SCP-XXXX containment, with Doctor Patnich in the subchamber. XXXX-2 is seated at her desk with her head covered.

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr: XXXX, head up, please.

XXXX: [Quietly] No, sir… I'm much too lonely to look.

Dr: Do you know why you're being relocated?

XXXX:(a long pause, lifts her head) Because.. [incoherent, presumed name] and I hurt people…

Dr: What was that you said?

XXXX: [incoherent]… XXXX-1…

Dr: Why did you hurt those people? I know you, you wouldn't hurt a fly.

XXXX: I don't know, sir… I didn't want to. Neither of us wanted to hurt anyone…

(Long pause, presumably thinking)

Dr: XXXX?

XXXX: She and I were scared. They might have hurt us..

Dr: Why would they have hurt you?

XXXX: The Doctor never hesitated. They had that stench.

Dr: Stench? The stench of what?

XXXX: The one The Doctor had… They smelled like… like…

Dr: …Like what?

XXXX: Like liars…

Dr: Liars? All humans lie.

XXXX: Not these kind. Not like The Doctor.

Dr: Who is the Doctor? You always mention them.

XXXX: (No response)

Dr: We can't help you if you don't te-

XXXX: You're missing an “instance” in your records, sir… [incoherent] isn't SCP XXXX-1. The Doctor wouldn't take kindly to being missed..

Dr: Was The Doctor the first of you?

XXXX: ….no, but.. She made us. She made us from her own flesh. Said she…. She loved us! She lied, she's a LIAR!

Dr: I need you to calm down!

(XXXX tosses the desk toward the sub-chamber's glass wall, causing personnel to send in a flashbang to immobilize it. XXXX crumples and begins to sob.)

[Interview terminated due to instance becoming too hysterical to cooperate]

Notes: DNA analysis of SCP-XXXX-1 remains pending.

Addendum 1-2, XXXX: DNA Analysis Report
DNA graphing of SCP-XXXX-1 remains shows a human sequence, as well as spliced segments from slightly modified Firefly Squid (Watasenia Scintillans) and an unidentified species. The human sequence is not in any database available to the Foundation, nor any database referenced by personnel during the information sweep. It is assumed SCP-XXXX instances are partially superficial in nature. The intended purpose of the instances is still unknown.
