Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a small container sealed with glass. Researchers are permitted to conduct tests with SCP-XXXX using D-Class personnel, as long as tests do not exceed 30 minutes in length, due to the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX. If an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is created, they are to be sedated and placed in a cell until they wake up. Afterwards instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be put under psychological examination, if subject continues to exhibit side effects of SCP-XXXX, they are to be kept under psychological examination until they have reverted to their mental state prior to being exposed to SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a polaroid photo, somewhat deteriorated presumably due to age. SCP-XXXX does not have a set appearance, and it is currently unknown if SCP-XXXX has a set appearance that is not observable due to its effects, or if it is completely dependent on its holders. When a person holds SCP-XXXX, if the holder breaks eye contact with SCP-XXXX, if the holder looks back to SCP-XXXX, the photo will have changed to a location, object, person/persons, or occurrence that is significant to the holder's childhood. The effect of SCP-XXXX even extends to digital media, changing appearance for people who view the photograph from a picture, video, or other forms of digital media. SCP-XXXX is able to create these images, somehow without the photos being taken in the first place, it is currently unknown how SCP-XXXX is able to access these memories, or how the images are made in the first place. If a person holds SCP-XXXX for an amount of time exceeding 30 minutes, the holder will begin to experience feelings of extreme nostalgia and sadness, and are then to be classified as SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 exhibit varying acts and behaviors, documented results are different for each individual classified as SCP-XXXX-1. Recorded observations include the following:
*The holder crying, this can range from quiet sobs, to the holder crying nonstop for hours.
*Extreme distress when attempts are made to remove SCP-XXXX from subject.
*Hostility towards personnel attempting to remove SCP-XXXX from subject. This can range from
shoving and making sure that personnel move away from subject and SCP-XXXX, to subjects
attempting to claw at, strangle, or even bite any personnel that attempt to separate
SCP-XXXX from subject.
*Attempting to verbally deter personnel from trying to take away SCP-XXXX from subject, this can include insults, threats, and pleading for personnel to let subject keep possession of SCP-XXXX.
*Losing the ability to form proper sentences and responses, most likely due to putting all attention
and efforts into keeping hold of and protecting SCP-XXXX.
Additional Information:SCP-XXXX was found in ██████ █████, Florida in 19██ after reports of individuals fighting each other over a photograph surfaced. The fights over SCP-XXXX resulted in █ casualties.
