Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
Any instance of SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept in a bed inside a standard humanoid containment cell in Site-88. SCP-XXXX-2 is to remain in a medically induced coma. SCP-XXXX-2 must be kept alive through the use Intravenous therapy.

SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept inside a bed inside a standard humanoid containment cell in Site-88 separate from that of SCP-XXXX-2's. SCP-XXXX-1 is to remain in a medically induced coma. SCP-XXXX-1 must be kept alive through the use of Intravenous therapy.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomaly that manifests as two members of the Homo sapiens species. When in proximity of the other, one humanoid's body experiences deformations. This humanoid is designated as SCP-XXXX-2 while the other is designated as SCP-XXXX-1.

SCP-XXXX-1's anomalous property activates upon death. In approximately an hour, SCP-XXXX-1's consciousness is transferred to a body of a previously deceased human. If the body is damaged, it regenerates until it is able to function properly. This regeneration only occurs when SCP-XXXX-1's consciousness is first transferred to a new body and does not persist afterwards. The new body of SCP-XXXX-1 functions exactly like a normal human body. SCP-XXXX's consciousness is transferred involuntarily. Only one instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is active at a time.

SCP-XXXX-2 always remains within five hundred meters of SCP-XXXX-1. If SCP-XXXX-1 is not within five hundred meters of SCP-XXXX-2, SCP-XXXX-2 seemingly develops the ability to be aware of the location of SCP-XXXX-1. Once SCP-XXXX-2 is once again within five hundred meters of SCP-XXXX-1, it loses this ability. If SCP-XXXX-2 dies, its consciousness is transferred to a body of a previously decreased human after approximately five hours. If the body is unable to function properly, it regenerates until it is able to function. If the body of SCP-XXXX-2 is damaged, it regenerates at a slow rate. If sufficient damage is dealt to SCP-XXXX-2, it ceases life function. However, its consciousness is once again transferred after approximately five hours. SCP-XXXX-2 appears to be a normal human when not in the proximity of SCP-XXXX-1.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will attempt to locate and terminate SCP-XXXX-1 instances in any way possible. When another instance of SCP-XXXX-1 manifests, the instance of SCP-XXXX-2 will once again attempt to locate and terminate the SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are seemingly willing to do anything to continue pursuing SCP-XXXX-1, including suicide if contained. The body of SCP-XXXX-2 begins to decay when within five meters of SCP-XXXX-1. Only one instance of SCP-XXXX-2 is active at a time.

A new instance of SCP-XXXX-1 is created if the following conditions are met:

  • A human understands the situation of SCP-XXXX-1.
  • The same human must believe that the anomaly exists.
  • The same human must verbally promise SCP-XXXX-1 that they will help it in any way the human can.

If the conditions are met, SCP-XXXX-1 is able to transfer its status to the human. The human then becomes SCP-XXXX-1 and gains all its anomalous properties. The previous SCP-XXXX-1 instance then becomes SCP-XXXX-2 and the previous instance of SCP-XXXX-2 is permanently terminated.

Addendum:
Interview Log-XXXX-1: The following is an interview with a previous instance of SCP-XXXX-1.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-1

Interviewer: Dr. Petrov

Foreword: SCP-XXXX-1 was being pursued by a male humanoid with various cuts in its flesh. The skin of this humanoid decaying and its face appeared to be in a liquid state. Both SCP-XXXX-1 and the humanoid, identified to be SCP-XXXX-2, were apprehended by Foundation personnel and brought in for questioning. They were both kept in separate cells and SCP-XXXX-1 was interviewed first.

Dr. Petrov: Hello. Could you please state your name?

SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 looks around the room frantically.] Where is she? Where the fuck is she?

Dr. Petrov: Where is who?

SCP-XXXX-1: The piece of shit that was chasing me! Alison!
Dr. Petrov: The one chasing you was confirmed to be a male named Christopher Rudolph. Why do you call him Alison?
SCP-XXXX-1: Because her name is fucking Alison. Just because her body is a guy's doesn't mean that she's a different person. Now, where is she?
Dr. Petrov: Please state your name and I will answer your question.
SCP-XXXX-1: Why the fuck does it matter? I could be named Bob and I wouldn't be able to prove it with this body.
Dr. Petrov : Please state your name.
SCP-XXXX-1: It's Will. That's not the name of this guy, though. Where is she?
Dr. Petrov: We have identified you to be Joseph Charleston. Why do you claim that your name is Will?
SCP-XXXX-1: Because that's my name you retard. Where is she?
Dr. Petrov: Why is your name different from the one on record?
SCP-XXXX-1: I'm not telling you shit. You're not answering me.
Dr. Petrov: I'll ask Alison then. [Dr. Petrov has two guards open the cell and escort SCP-XXXX-2 inside. SCP-XXXX-2 enters the room with containing Dr. Petrov and SCP-XXXX-1.]
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 visibly becomes distressed] Don't let her get near me! Please!

<End Log>
Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX-2, who was being held by two guards, screamed and ran towards SCP-XXXX-1 and bit off SCP-XXXX-1's jugular vein. SCP-XXXX-2 then ran towards Dr. Petrov. SCP-XXXX-2 was promptly shot and SCP-XXXX-1 died of blood loss shortly after.

Incident XXXX-1:

Security camera footage shows a deformed humanoid pursuing a human. The deformed humanoid eventually reaches the human and stabs them multiple times with a knife. Once the human died, the humanoid's deformations vanished and it appeared to be a normal human. The humanoid is believed to be a previous SCP-XXXX-2, while the murdered human is believed to be a previous SCP-XXXX-1.

Incident XXXX-2: Another interview with the same previous instance of SCP-XXXX-1. This interview resulted in the creation of new SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 instances.

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-1

Interviewer: Dr. Petrov

Foreword: A deformed humanoid was walking behind SCP-XXXX-1 holding a knife. Both SCP-The humanoid was identified as SCP-XXXX-2. Both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 had different appearances when compared to the previous interview and incident. The humanoid was subdued and put into a containment cell. SCP-XXXX-1 was taken into a separate containment cell for questioning.

Dr. Petrov: Hello, SCP-XXXX-1. Please state your name.

SCP-XXXX-1: What does that even mean? It's me, Will, the guy you let get murdered a while ago. Thanks for that, asshole.

Dr. Petrov: [Dr. Petrov pauses for a moment] We have identified you as Alex Christi. Your funeral was five days ago. Why are you alive?

SCP-XXXX-1: Because I'm not Alex Christ or whatever his name is. I just told you, my name is Will.
Dr. Petrov: Please elaborate.
SCP-XXXX-1: It's a long story.
Dr. Petrov: Go ahead. I have time to hear it.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 looks down.]] Promise me something first.
Dr. Petrov: What would you like me to promise you?
SCP-XXXX-1: Just help me. Promise me you'll help me in any way you can. Whether it's keeping me in a cell forever or killing Alison over and over again, I don't want to do this anymore. Promise me you'll help.
Dr. Petrov: I'm not sure I have the authority to do that.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 becomes agitated] JUST FUCKING DO IT!
Dr. Petrov: [Dr. Petrov pauses] I will help you in any way I can.
SCP-XXXX-1: [SCP-XXXX-1 appears calm.] It's been a year, I think, before this started. My sister had been murdered in the night. She was apparently walking towards her car when she was killed. Her body had stab marks everywhere. Her face, stomach, back, legs, hands, eyes, everywhere.
SCP-XXXX-1: She was single, so we all pitched in for her funeral.
Dr. Petrov: 'We?'
SCP-XXXX-1: Family. You're supposed to trust family members the most right? They're the ones that won't abandon you, right? Well, fuck that.
Dr. Petrov: Please continue.
SCP-XXXX-1: A couple months later, I heard my doorbell ring. I opened the door and saw a little girl that couldn't have been older than… Seven? I thought she was a lost little kid in our neighborhood or something so I asked her where her parents were. She looked up at me with eyes that no kid should have and said, 'Will. It's me,
SCP-XXXX-1: For some reason, I almost believed her. I asked her what Alison's favorite flower was, and she- [SCP-XXXX-1 becomes agitated] Why the fuck does this matter? This girl was definitely Alison. Just know that.
Dr. Petrov: Simply making sure, Alison is your sister?
SCP-XXXX-1: Yes.
Dr. Petrov: Please continue.
SCP-XXXX-1: I started asking her a bunch of questions. I asked her how she was alive, why she died, and some other shit. She gave me this bizarre story about how someone she'd been dating suddenly became a monster and killed her. She said that she found herself in another body a bit later, but the monster found her again and killed her. She apparently kept waking up in different bodies, but no matter where she went the monster would just keep finding her and killing her. She eventually came to my house for help.
Dr. Petrov: Did you believe her.
SCP-XXXX-1: Kind of, but at the same time, I was doubting her story a bit. She swore that she was telling the truth and I… Fuck, that was pretty stupid. I asked her to prove it. She looked at me scared and nodded. She said she'd go to a park nearby, and that if she stayed there, the monster would come. Wow, I was really being stupid. I drove her to the park and she sat down on a swing and just waited, looking down at the ground. I pushed the swing and just waited.
Dr. Petrov: Did anything happen?
SCP-XXXX-1: I had to go for a leak so I took my eyes off her for a bit and went to one of those porta potties. Around the time I was finishing, I heard a scream. I ran towards it and saw the body of the little girl on the ground. Standing above it was a guy wearing tattered clothes. He turned around, saw me, and ran away. I couldn't catch up to him.
SCP-XXXX-1: A week later, my door bell rung again. I answered it and there was a guy at the door. They looked like they were in their forties or fifties. As soon as I opened it, they said, 'I'm Alison.' I asked him what his full name was and she gave me Alison's full name. I asked her how she died this time. She asked me whether I was talking about the last time she died, or the last time I saw her die. She said that after the incident at the part, she got killed a bunch more times by the same monster.
Dr. Petrov: Which death did you ask about, then?
SCP-XXXX-1: The death at the park. She said that she was choked to death. I asked her how long this was going on, and she said that it had been happening over and over again since she first died. It was an endless game of hide, seek, and kill. I was feeling terrible at this point and asked her if there was any way I could help. She asked if I believed her story, and I told her yes. She wanted me to promise that I'd help her in any way possible, so I did. After that, she told me that she had a plan. So, of course, I asked her what it was. [SCP-XXXX-1 closes its eyes and groans]
Dr. Petrov: What was it?
SCP-XXXX-1: She said that she figured out that if she wasn't within a certain distance near monster, it would know where she was. She always had to move, otherwise the monster would find. She was betting on the fact that the monster knew where she was right now, and was heading over here as we spoke. She wanted to wait for the monster to come. She said that two men would be enough to knock the monster out. I told her that if it really was a monster, we wouldn't be able to knock it out so easily. She said that it was still a human, and I'd get why she called it a monster when I saw it. I asked her why we couldn't just kill it and she said that it kept coming back just like her.
Dr. Petrov: Did the plan succeed?
SCP-XXXX-1: I heard the banging of my back door. We didn't know if it was the monster or not, but I got a sledgehammer from the garage just in case and had my sister open the door. When she opened it, I saw a person that couldn't have been a person. Their skin was rotting and their face looked like it was melting. I panicked and hit its ribs with the sledgehammer. It fell to the ground, wheezing. I backed away, asking my sister what to do next.
Dr. Petrov: What did she say?
SCP-XXXX-1: She asked me if I understood why it was a monster. Seeing the thing in front of me, I knew it was. I nodded and again, asked her what to do. She looked at me and smiled. She told me that the conditions were met. I asked her what she was talking about. She told me that the thing on the floor wasn't always like this. It was a human like me or her first. It went through the same loop until it met the same conditions. She told me that another person had to understand what was happening, believe it was all real, and promise to help the current person trapped in the loop. She knew that because she was tricked into being trapped in the loop. Like she tricked me. Just like I've tricked you now. [SCP-XXXX-1's face appears to melt. It lunges at Dr. Petrov and chokes him using both hands.]
<End Log>
Closing Statement: Dr. Petrov became the new SCP-XXXX-1 instance, while the previous SCP-XXXX-1 became the SCP-XXXX-2 instance. The previous SCP-XXXX-2 instance in containment ceased life function once the conversation between Dr. Petrov and the previous SCP-XXXX-1 instance ceased. The new SCP-XXXX-2 committed suicide by biting their tongue and bleeding to death. Both SCP-XXXX-1 and SCP-XXXX-2 were located, tranquilized, and contained.
