Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Due to the immovable nature of SCP-XXXX, it is currently contained at its location of discovery. An electric fence is set in a 100 m radius around SCP-XXXX with CCTV cameras placed at 40 m intervals. These procedures are explained to civilians under the pretense of nuclear waste disposal. In the case of a civilian entering SCP-XXXX’s area of effect, they’re to be administered Class-B amnestics and released to the general public.

In accordance with the Multiversal Collaboration Project, all instances of SCP-XXXX must be located as soon as possible, and once located, all information regarding it must be relayed to UNI-2346.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a short loop of audio with an average volume of 15 dB. It’s only audible within a radius of roughly 50 m centered within rural regions of ████, ████████ with no apparent source. All attempts to relocate SCP-XXXX has so far resulted in failure.

The volume of SCP-XXXX does not change depending on the listener’s location, and instead decreases over time, returning from the ending volume of 13 dB to the starting volume of 17 dB after the conclusion of each loop.1 Upon leaving the 50m radius, SCP-XXXX immediately becomes inaudible.

Audio analysis has shown that SCP-XXXX is similar to an encrypted audio message, though all attempts at decryption have shown no conclusive results. Conclusive results have since been found. See Addendum XXXX-1.

Despite SCP-XXXX’s anomalous nature, the audio itself has no anomalous property.

Addendum XXXX-1: During the 2017 Multiversal Data Transfer, discrepancies between the documents of the various instances of SCP-XXXX was found. Through further investigations, it was discovered that SCP-XXXX, when combined with other instances of SCP-XXXX from alternate universes,2 creates 3 encrypted audio messages, designated SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-3.3 The following is the transcript of SCP-XXXX-1 to SCP-XXXX-3.4
