SCP4371 is a computer virus that travels through networks, wifi, internet, and usb cords. highly destructive it appears to "eat" files and code, absorbing it into itself, and decays if without eating for long periods of time. it has been known to inhabit entertainment sites and go through them the way a person might use the site. this has led people to believe it "enjoys" these sites and is therefore sentient. further evidence to it's sentientism is that it uses loopholes in different firewalls that it seems to have learned. in addition to destroying code it is able to rewrite it to do other things. it has been recorded to change code functions in ways that could be considered "pranks" and on one occasion hijacked a robot. early tests revealed it could be communicated with in code. this communication has been difficult as computer code is not meant for communication. so far responses have been confusing and it is unclear if it truly understood the question. the only thing that has been revealed is that it refers to itself as testfile87lndsn. the lndsn may link the creation of SCP4371 to eric landson, a code devoloper who seeks to upgrade AI with emotions.
current containment is large file storage device with no paths for code to be transferred. this device is in site-15. it also has a file creating program protected by selected firewalls in order to feed it. personell check on the firewalls rutinely.
