SCP-5005

SCP-5005 in its mixed state.

Item #: SCP-5005

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedure: SCP-5005 is to be kept in a completely glass room made out of 10 inch thick bulletproof glass. It is to be locked at all times, except during testing/examination. Experimentations may only be done once approved by Site Manager from a formal request.

Description: SCP-5005 is a 3x3 Rubik's cube that is completely mixed up. Whenever a researcher needs to come inside, he should be accompanied by at least one Facility Guard and one D-Class (optional). SCP-5005 seems a bit simple, but don't be fooled by this. SCP-5005 has an attracting innocents and is what caused the death of multiple small children to be killed before SCP-5005 was contained.

Once SCP-5005 is touched by a living organism, the organism that touched instantly gets a feeling that something bad would happen if the Rubik's Cube is not completely solved on all sides. Many people who have experienced this said that they had someone whispering to them, this whispering would keep going until 30 seconds after the Rubik's Cube is complete. This whispering would be in an unknown language that no one could understand.

Many D-Class couldn't complete this Rubik's Cube, because everytime one of the sides is turned a random cube switches from it's color. Keep in mind the last turn doesn't make any of the cubes switch color.

Once someone starts solving the cube they won't stop, if they get separated they will start fighting anything that gets into his/hers path. She/He will have increased strength and speed. One of the people affected by this cube even withstood 10 5.5mm bullets to the lungs, heart, and stomach region. If they get into a 2 foot radius of the cube they will slightly come down and once they are solving the cube they completely come down. Once someone starts solving the cube the desire for food, water, and sleep disappears. So most subjects die of dehydration or lack of sleep before they finish the SCP-5005. Once SCP-5005 is solved the subject will faint and wake up approximately 12 hours later. After being solved SCP-5005 will mix up randomly all over again with a different pattern everytime.

SCP-5005 seems to be indestructible after surviving multiple gunshots and a grenade and came out with only a 1x1mm dent on the middle piece, but it seems to have regenerative powers too since the next day it was completely fixed and no signs of the dent were to be seen.

Addendum: SCP-5005 was found when it was reported that a child killed it's whole family just to get to the Rubik's Cube. When the child was found it was covered in blood and was on it's bed playing the Rubik's Cube, after that incident the girl was questioned about how she got it and she said, "I got it from a man in a black robe in the playground." The man was never found. It was speculated he was a cult leader, but this was never confirmed.
