Special Containment Procedures: The shopping mall which houses the parking lot SCP-4783 is in has been acquired by a Foundation front company and designated Provisional Site-4783. Two researchers and the MTF ζ -15 is to be housed in the Provisional Site-4783 at all times. CCTV cameras are to be set around the parking lot SCP-4783 is in to analyze its movements and behaviour. All vehicles and objects in the parking lot has been removed and every edge smoothened. No personnel except D-Class are allowed inside SCP-4783’s containment area and the [25 * 2x] meter diameter sphere around it. Testing is forbidden. The current SCP-4783-1 instances are kept in seperate modified humanoid containment cells with every sharp edge smoothened and all objects removed . In no circumstances is the welding mask on the current SCP-4783-1 instances wear to be taken off or instances killed.

Description: SCP-4783 is a humanoid of inderterminate age and gender. SCP-4783 is humpbacked and has a very pale skin. SCP-4783 is inside a glass room in the underground parking lot it is in for most of the time but it is able to pass through the glass at its will. SCP-4783 is usually dormant and unresponsive. SCP-4783 has a worker’s overalls and a welding mask lowered on his face, completely blocking view to its face.
When a human enters inside the parking lot, the glass of the room SCP-4783 is in becomes opaque and SCP-4783 manifests behind the subject. In all recorded cases, SCP-4783 has followed its victim closely for on average 14 minutes (longest recorded 58 minutes, shortest recoreded 5 seconds) before touching the subject’s left shoulder. If the subject turns around or touches SCP-4783 willingly, SCP-4783’s right arm will shapeshift into a welding torch and it will proceed to delve a hole (diameter 5 centimeters) into the heart and the forehead of the subject by burning and melting the tissues.
Upon the subject’s death, SCP-4783 will take the subject inside the glass room in the middle of the parking lot, going through the glass. SCP-4783 will stay inside the glass room for 360 180 90 for [t] days [t=360/(x)], [x] being the amount SCP-4783 has captured prey. Upon the time elapsing, a SCP-4783-1 specimen will manifest. SCP-4783-1 appears to be the prey SCP-4783 has captured except wearing a copy of the welding mask on SCP-4783’s head with the [x] number written on the visor of the mask. SCP-4783-1 instances will exit the containment area if allowed and will utilize it’s surroundings to take off the welding mask it wears, shouting “Take it off” at 70 dB with the voice of the original prey. . If successful, the SCP-4783-1 will emit a Gamma ray towards SCP-4783 and vanish afterwards, triggering a W-Event. A W-Event is when the glass of SCP-4783 “activates” (glass of the room becoming transparent). Upon this, SCP-4783 will emit an audible memetic message throughout a 25 50 100 [25 * 2x] meter diameter sphere directly heard by people as coming from inside of their head, stating “[MEMETIC HAZARD REDACTED]. [x] WELDS DONE.”, forcing humans hearing/seeing the message immediately run towards the nearest entrance to SCP-4783’s containment area. Deaf personnel is also affected by unknown means. When an affected human enters the area, the memetic effect ends. It is possible to enter the containment area (except the glass room) while SCP-4783 waits for the current SCP-4783-1 instance’s response.
The current containment procedures are focused on reducing casualties and endless looping of a W-Event. With each successful W-Event, SCP-4783’s activation period halves and the diameter of the danger sphere increases.
Discovery: SCP-4783 was discovered on 19/06/2019 in ████████, Turkey. In a maintenance welding to the escalator going from the basement floor to the underground parking lot of the █████████ shopping mall, the welding worker ███████ █████ inhaled Argon gas and fell into the open mechanism of the escalator. After an unknown phenomena occured, ███████ █████got up from the escalator and captured a civilian inside the glass room escalator was in, focusing Foundation attention. MTF ζ-15 (Contunmant Brunch) was dispatched and the mall was subjected to a gas variant of the Class-A amnestic. The mall was evacuated with the single casualty being the civilian captured by ███████ █████. ζ-15 operatives reported beating sounds coming from inside the glass room SCP-4783 is in. ζ -15 operatives were unable to break or incise the glass or move the room SCP-4783 is in. The original end point of the escalator was found closed and the escalator was found missing when by ζ-15 operatives traveled to the end point. All attempts at entering the glass room from above or below has failed. ███████ █████ was designated SCP-4783 and the mall was acquired by a Foundation front company and designated Provisional Site-4783. Incident 4783-1
On 14/06/2020, exactly 360 days after initial containment, a SCP-4783-1 instance appeared inside the containment area with the number one written across the visor of its welding mask. Unnoticed by the staff at first, SCP-4783-1 instance removed its welding mask on a bollard, resulting in the first W-Event. 27 Foundation personnel and 5 D-Class personnel were affected. MTF Z-15 (now housed in site) intervened, shooting the SCP-4783-1 instance. Instance emitted pressured Argon gas and produced a plasma torch. The instance proceeded to light the gas with the torch despite it having no power connection, resulting in 7 Foundation casualties including the ζ-15 operative that shot it. Another SCP-4783-1 instance appeared from inside the glass room. ζ -15 operatives contained the instance. Instance removed it’s welding mask on the table of its containment chamber, resulting in the second W-Event. Lockdown of the containment area and fast acting of ζ-15 operatives saved all but one affected Junior Researcher, Benjamin Dahl. The D-Class was killed and taken into the glass room by SCP-4783. After the events, a research area was built next to the containment area and cameras installed. The danger sphere where the memetic message was audible measured at 25 meters in diameter.
Incident 4783-2

On 11/12/2020, 180 days after Incident 4783-1, a new SCP-4783-1 instance appeared, number two written on the visor of its welding mask. After the manifestation of the SCP-4783-1 instance, Junior Researcher Ronan, who had a romantic affair with Junior Researcher Dahl when SCP-4783-1 killed Junior Researcher Dahl, exclaimed excitement and entered the containment area unauthorized. Junior Researcher Ronan proceeded to take the welding mask off the face of the SCP-4783-1 instance, triggering a W-Event. Timely action by ζ-15 operatives prevented any Foundation personnel entering the conatinment area. Junior Researcher Ronan was killed by SCP-4783, becoming the third victim of SCP-4783. After this incident, all edges around the parking lot was smoothened and all objects were removed. The time between SCP-4783 capturing prey and SCP-4783-1 appearance shortening and the memetic sphere embiggening was noted by the personnel. Containmnet Procedures were updated in light of this event and Provisional Site-4783 was set up as a minimal personnel area. Danger sphere measured at 50 meters diameter.
Incident 4783-3

On 11/04/2021, 90 days after Incident 4783-2, the new SCP-4783-1 instance exited the glass room. Personnel present were two senior researchers and the ζ-15 team. Unnoticed before, a welding kit was left in an area not visible to the cameras accidentally by a worker. SCP-4783-1 picked up the kit before ζ-15 operatives could act, and produced a rectangular prism shaped object (10x5x5cm) and welded the piece to a wall nearby. SCP-4783-1 instance returned inside the glass room with the welding kit. SCP-4783 exited the glass room with the welding kit, vocalizing “[MEMETIC HAZARD REDACTED]. THE WELDERS WILL UNITE. WE WILL NOT BE DETERRED.” 5 SCP-4783-1 instances exited the glass room. ζ -15 operatives were successful in killing all instances but every killed instance resulted in two more exiting from the glass area. These SCP-4783-1 instances proved to be hostile, swarming the entire ζ -15 team. One of the SCP-4783-1 instances managed to take its welding mask off, resulting in the third W-Event. The welded object was of unknown composition and proved impossible to remove by any means. Attempts at walling off the containment area proved impossible due to the discovery surface being replaced by an unknown alloy with an exact same texture and feel to concrete. The material is resistant to all drilling and prohibited sticking of any substance to it. A new ζ -15 team was established. Danger sphere measured at 100 meters in diameter, 4 civilians being affected but unable to enter the site. Civilians were administered Class-A amnestics and released.
Addendum 4783-1
On 16/05/2021, 45 days after Incident 4783-2, 5 new SCP-4783-1 instances appeared from the glass room. ζ -15 operatives captured all 5 instances before any could remove its welding mask, regular sedatives proving capable of incapacitating the SCP-4783-1 instances. Containment of the all instances is of high importance and two more MTF’s are planned to be transferred to Provisional Site-4783. A small book with the title “Welders’ Unition” was discovered on all SCP-4783-1 instances. Books were destroyed and deleted but researchers were successful on putting a part of a page together. Addendum 4783-2
By O5 order, the surrounding area of the Provisional Site-4783 has been demolished with a biohazard leak shown as the reason. Civilians were moved to other parts of the city. Object has been reclassified to Keter.
