Starfish Limb Regenerator

Containment Procedures:

Both instances of SKIP are to be contained in separate humanoid containment cells. If a new instance of SKIP is created, it is also to be contained in a separate standard humanoid containment cell. Both instances of SKIP have been given tattoos on their hands and feet for identification purposes in the event that a new instance of SKIP is created. Under no circumstances should an instance of SKIP be allowed access to any objects that could facilitate the removal of a limb. If an instance of SKIP has a limb removed, both it and the limb are to be separated and contained until they have completed the regeneration processes, at which point the new instance will be designated SKIP-2.

Description:

SKIP is a human approximately thirty-five (35) years of age with the ability to fully regrow any severed limb. The exact process of growing the new limb is unknown, as it has occurred only once prior to containment. It is believed to take between five and eight hours for the regeneration process to complete. The new limb will be identical in appearance and function to the original. The severed limb will also undergo a process of regeneration rather than becoming lifeless. A new instance of SKIP will grow from the severed limb that is indistinguishable from the original. The new instance of SKIP will be physically identical to SKIP, even on a genetic level. The new instance will also share identical memories with the original leading up to the point of the limb being severed. This makes the new instance of SKIP convinced that it is actually the original instance.

SKIP was contained on June 22nd, 2018 from the LeConte Medical Center in Alabama, U.S.A. It was transported to the medical center after one of its limbs was removed in an accident in its wood shop. Medical personnel in the ambulance noted that the wound stopped bleeding in an unusually short amount of time. SKIP reached stable condition by the time the ambulance arrived at the medical center. Given that the limb was wrapped in a bandage, SKIP's anomalous healing properties went unnoticed. The severed limb was left in the room with SKIP to be disposed of in the morning when appropriate staff were available. Later that night, police were called when the medical staff were alerted to loud shouting coming from SKIP's room. The Foundation was alerted to a possible anomalous humanoid when an agent within the police station was sent to the medical center, leading to the containment of both instances of SKIP. Amnestics were given to all present medical staff to eliminate any memory of SKIP's hospitalization. Both instances of SKIP were transported to site-(is there a site for harmless humanoids?) for containment and research.

Both instances of SKIP firmly believe and insist that they are the original instance. Each instance has told a slightly different version of the events that transpired the night they were contained. The following logs are a series of tests conducted to determine which instance of SKIP is the original instance. Each instance has been arbitrarily designated SKIP-A and SKIP-B for the sake of clarity.

- SKIP-A claims to have been injured by a mounted table saw, while SKIP-B claims to have been injured by an unmounted circular saw. Investigation into SKIP's workshop shows that both types of saw were used near each other, and both bear blood stains consistent with an impromptu amputation. Result: no conclusive evidence in favor of SKIP-A or SKIP-B's claims.
