Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is to be kept inside a standard combination safe (code available from level four (4) authorized staff personnel and above with valid testing credentials), contained within a reinforced storage locker with one (1) armed personnel guard.
As of 12-04-████, special containment procedures have been updated as listed below following test
SCP-XXXX-Test-2
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept suspended in a 1m3 clear resin cube, said cube is to kept inside a high security containment room under automated lethal security. No SCP foundation staff are permitted to enter containment room of
SCP-XXXX unless given authorization from two (2) level 5 SCP personnel. No testing is currently permitted of SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Roman era signet ring, made from an electrum composition (a naturally occurring gold and silver alloy) with trace amounts of copper, the ring depicts an image of an antelope in stride with two (2) small indentations not thought to be of the original design. The ring measures as an eight (8) as a standard United States ring size at 18.1mm in diameter.
SCP-XXXX starts its anomalous effects when worn by a living human individual, hereafter mentioned as
SCP-XXXX-1. Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will gain the ability to have everything they say to another human or humans, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-2, seem to be the complete truth to an SCP-XXXX-2 instance, regardless if it actually true or not, no matter how seemingly unrealistic it may seem. For example,
SCP-XXXX-1 telling an SCP-XXXX-2 instance that 'if can fly' will not give an SCP-XXXX-2 the ability to fly, it will just think it can. An SCP-XXXX-1 instance will not realize they have the ability SCP-XXXX gives unless they are told or discover it for themselves.
Recovery Log: The SCP foundation was made aware of a potential SCP on 6-13-████ after a large scale mass suicide in a food court at the ████ Mall, ████████, Costa Rica resulting in ███ deaths. CCTV footage of the incident shows a young male individual (SCP-XXXX-1) standing on a ledge overlooking the food court and shouting something, what was said is unclear as the CCTV system did not have any audio recording capability. The SCP-XXXX-1 instance then ran from the scene towards the main exit as SCP-XXXX-2 instances started to commit suicide in various ways, seemingly choosing the option closest to them without regard to potential speed of lethality.
The SCP-XXXX-1 instance was picked up by local police forces two (2) hours after the incident and held in a local police department cell, SCP-XXXX-1 was identified as 'Matías ███████', age 14, residing in ████████, Costa Rica. under talks with the Costa Rican government, the SCP-XXXX-1 instance was taken into SCP Foundation custody and a cover story of a 'gas leak' was put forward to the press as the cause of the incident.
SCP-XXXX-1 had belongings and clothing removed (Beige hoodie, ███████ soccer club jersey, blue jeans, white underwear, pair of black socks, pair of black sneakers, █████ brand phone, SCP-XXXX) without incident and given standard D-Class clothing temporarily. SCP-XXXX-1 was then interviewed by Dr ████
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-1 (Matías ███████)
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Foreword: Interview with an SCP-XXXX-1 instance, name, Matías ███████. Picked up by Costa Rican police force after SCP-XXXX recovery, then transferred to SCP Foundation.
<Begin Log, 19:33, 6-13-████>
Interviewer: Hello Matías, my name is Dr. █████, can you tell me more about yourself?
Person: [SCP-XXXX-1 remains silent]
Interviewer: Anything? age? school? family?
Person: I didn't want to hurt anyone
Interviewer: You didn't want to hurt anyone?
Person: [SCP-XXXX becomes visibly upset, begins to cry]
Interviewer: Please Matías, we need to know exactly what happened here
Person: I didn't do it, i didn't mean to do it, im sorry, i didn't want to hurt anyone. I just wanted to test it, i didn't think it would actually work.
Interviewer: Wanted to test what exactly?
Person: That ring, Hugo told me about it
Interviewer: Hugo?
Person: My friend in school, he said if you wear the ring people believe anything, i didn't think it would actually work
Interviewer: But you tried it anyway?
Person: He told me to test it, i didn't really want to do it
Interviewer: Why didn't he test it himself?
Person: I don't know, please let me go, i want to go home.
Interviewer: Its OK, we'll get you home soon, i just need to know one more thing, what exactly did you shout at the mall?
Person: Hugo told me to shout out that everyone wanted to die now
Interviewer: Where was Hugo when this happened?
Person: He said he would be outside waiting, when i got there he wasn't there anymore
Interviewer: OK, thank you for talking to me we'll get you home as soon as possible OK?<End Log, 19:37, 6-13-████>
Closing Statement: The SCP in question is seemingly the ring that was worn by him, would suggest placing all belongings into secure containment, the ring to be placed in a separate containment compartment. Suggest this 'Hugo' individual be picked up and interviewed by foundation personnel. As for SCP-XXXX-1 upon confirmation that the ring is indeed the SCP in question, i would suggest SCP-XXXX-1 be given a Class C Amnestic and released to a hospital facility closest to the SCP-XXXX recovery location with the cover story of him being a 'survivor of the gas leak'.
