Description: SCP-XXXX is a species of katydids, belonging to the subfamily Saginae3. As of writing there are 4 5 3 living specimens of SCP-XXXX in foundation custody (SCP-XXXX-1-a brown female, SCP-XXXX-2-a green male and SCP-XXXX-3-4-a green female). SCP-XXXX posses a highly durable exoskeleton, rendering it difficult for most insect species to penetrate it. The exoskeleton covers the mandibles, but SCP-XXXX are able to split it at the "chin" in order to feed. Colours of the exoskeleton range from brown to green. SCP-XXXX stand upright at a height of around 20 cm in males and 17 cm in females. They are capable of jumping 50 cm into the air. The arms are lined with sharp, short spikes which are used as a last resort during combat or in fights with fellow SCP-XXXX. Molting occurs every 2-3 weeks. After molting, SCP-XXXX will use sharp rocks and other tools to make weapons out of their old exoskeleton. Weapons range from spears, swords, daggers or even tools to make creation of new weapons easier. Tools/weapons that are not being used are stored at nests, usualy created out of small twigs and leaves or in some cases, excavated. SCP-XXXX are not succesful as a species in the wild. This is a combination of their hunting and feeding habits, along with the time it takes to bring up young SCP-XXXX.
Currently the lifespan of SCP-XXXX instances is unknown. SCP-XXXX hunt and live alone and will fight other instances of SCP-XXXX in "unarmed" combat, utilizing the spikes on their arms. Fights for teritory and/or females (in case of males) or larvae/pupae/eggs of SCP-XXXX (in case of females) will occur on fields lacking vegatation, usualy created/expanded by SCP-XXXX into a circle with a radius of 3 m. The two instances will go to either sides of the circle and stare eachother down in an attempt to make one instance stand down4. After this, the instances will charge at eachother and hit eachother with their spines, aiming for the torso and appendages, never the head. Fights usualy last from anywhere between 1-5 minutes. Deaths during these fights are very rare. Fights for females, have been interrupted by the female instance, if it has chosen a male before the fight has finished. Territories of SCP-XXXX are usualy
