Special Containment Procedures: In order to find more information about SCP-XXXX, all interviews conducted within Site-37 are to be transcribed and recorded, with notes taken by the researcher if applicable.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon that affects the transcripts of select Foundation audio logs, generating dialogue that never took place. Current potential anomalous activity is centered around Researcher Dr Jean Nelson. A cursory investigation has not yielded any technical problems that could be responsible for the issue, although investigation is ongoing. For an example, see the below excerpt from an interview log for SCP-████, between Dr Jean Nelson and PoI-9461.

Interview Excerpt:

Excerpt from Interview ████.3: SCP-████ is a flute created by PoI-9461, that puts listeners into a coma when a specific tune is played.

[BEGIN EXCERPT]

PoI-9461:: I’ve been getting back into reading philosophy lately. I appreciate the book privileges.

Dr Jean Nelson: Which of course will only remain given continued cooperation. As you have stated the flute was a commission, we can discuss the reinstatement of further rights and privileges with more information about the commissioner.

PoI-9461: Like freedom?

Dr Jean Nelson: I did not say that.

PoI-9461: Okay. Well, since that conversation is just not going to happen, you wanna hear about this book I’ve been reading? By a philosopher named Witt… uh, Wittstein, I think. Or something like that.

Dr Jean Nelson: I suppose that should be about what was expected. You could talk, and we could skip getting this matter escalated?

PoI-9461: This book of his, which has a fantastic nonsense title, Tractatus Something-Philosophicus, not at all structured like an actual book. But apparently he thought-

Dr Jean Nelson: Ah well, Cassandra, be so kind as to fetch the pliers, and that member of that Mobile Task Force… oh, you know the one. We spoke with them about fingernail removal the other day.

PoI-9461: -he thought it was the only piece of philosophy the world would need. Basically, it’s all about communication and the confusion that comes from unnecessary words, and he sums it up with-

Dr Jean Nelson: Are you sure you wouldn’t rather speak? I can absolutely promise you this will not be pleasant for anyone involved, except the task force member.

PoI-9461: Ha. No. As, uh, Wittgenstein said, “Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.”

Dr Jean Nelson: Cute. Really cute. Some people plead the fifth, but no, you’re the artist, you go the pretentious route. Cassandra?

PoI-9461: Oh that’s not very nice. I can be pretentious if I want to be. I wasn't always into music, though. I remember when I was younger, I wanted to be a painter. So when I was a kid, I wanted to scream, scream until my lungs turn as black as blood, crush my fingers one by one so that the pain would be simple and I would never sleep, never silent, always screaming, be heard, not forgiven not absolved but rebellious, a blasphemous chorus with every waking breath spent on the screeches that curdle with blood in my torn and broken throat to make noise, to be heard to rage to fight to please be heard, hear me no please, please, please, please or instead of a painter, I would've been happy as a conductor or something, I guess. I dunno. I do love what I do, though. So anyway, let's get on with it, eh?

Dr Jean Nelson: Be a conductor… I can respect that. I enjoy trains, personally. Cassandra, really now, where are we with those pliers?

Silence.

As Dr Nelson has mutism and has never spoken, their associated lines of dialogue did not occur. When checked against the recording of the conversations, PoI-9461 was talking to themselves. PoI-9461 is currently unwilling to assist with the investigation, but attempts are being made to clarify what occurred in their meetings.

This is at such an early stage, and I'm still not convinced this isn't just a glitch in the system or the auto-transcriber thing. This is a preliminary document, I'll either update it as we find more out, or delete it when this all gets settled.
