Item #: SCP-[Number chosen later.]

Object class: Safe

Special containment procedures: The object is to be kept in a standard inanimate objects locker. No personnel below the security clearance level 1 is to be granted access to the locker of SCP-X.

Description: SCP-X is a well-worn leather jacket. It appears to be made of tanned leather. However, after studying the object, it has been confirmed to consist of almost strictly human DNA, with traces of artificial textures. The object has a size tag which states it is a mens size L although the jacket seems to fit any subject perfectly, regardless of physical build or height. SCP-X has a zipper which seems to seldom jam. SCP-X is not to be worn without protective measures. Protective measures include but are not limited to inorganic materials such as glass fiber or objects made of noble metals. After approximately an hour of wearing the jacket, the object will cause mild pain and itching on unprotected skin. It is to be noted that wearing the jacket it will eat away organic materials, at which point direct contact with the subject's skin will be established. It is unknown as to how the object seems to "remove" clothing covering the subject's skin. The mild pain and itching is ignored by the subject in most cases. After approximately 2 hours of wearing the object, feelings of nausea will arise and the subject's skin will stick to the object. The subject will experience feelings of burning on their upper body. The pain has also been described as a blister, sunburn, or rash. At this point, the subject will in most cases try to remove the jacket. The subject's skin will rip off whenever the object gets further removed. The result of completely removing the jacket will usually be near complete loss of skin in the upper body. It is to be noted that subjects with higher muscle mass will also experience tearing of muscle tissue. The object has not been observed to affect body fat. The jacket will absorb the tissue it rips off of any subject, and may visibly grow in size. This does not affect the overall wearability of the jacket. Fatalities may occur in cases where subjects fail to receive medical care, as the open wounds are quickly infected and the subject will lose blood rapidly depending on length of exposure.

SCP-X was discovered in [REDACTED] after a man who had gone missing was found deceased, missing the skin on his upper body. The cause of death was severe bloodloss as a result of being exposed to SCP-X.
