SCP-XXXX, this will be changed to a better image of SCP-XXXX later.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a standard room that has an appropriate ventilation system that allows for removal of tear gas

Description: SCP-XXXX is a piece Coral that has 4 rocky tendrils that connect to a base of a rock. SCP-XXXX when outside of water will be encased in an impenetrable bubble. The tendrils are covered in microscopic holes that allow for intake and excretion of chemicals.

SCP-XXXX excretes 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile (C10H5ClN2), more commonly known as tear gas. The tear gas is excreted from the microscopic holes on the rocky tendrils which form bubbles containing the gas. These interior bubbles rise and leave the outer bubble surrounding SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX ignores the conservation of mass principle as it seemingly coverts water (H2O) into tear gas in a matter of seconds while maintaining water levels inside the bubble to ensure that no surrounding water is lost in the reaction.

The bubble is identified as water but is impervious to damage and maintains it's spherical form constantly. SCP-XXXX weighs around 0.827 kg. When SCP-XXXX is submerged in water it will still keep it's surrounding bubble and continues its chemical reactions.

When SCP-XXXX is clasped in a human subject's hand the tear gas will change into an unidentifiable neurotoxin that will cause a 4 stage reaction process that incorporates mass hallucinations and change in neuron structure of the individual's brain, each stage is listed in detail below. The neurotoxin is unidentifiable due to it only affecting the individual holding SCP-XXXX. The neurotoxin can be filtered by a standard gas mask and not effect individuals wearing this protection.

Important Notes regarding the Stages: during all stages subjects holding SCP-XXXX will remain unresponsive to speech directed towards them until this speech is altered in stage III, subjects will return to normal after a minute of SCP-XXXX being removed from their hand. SUbjects will lose all knowledge of SCP-XXXX due to alterations in the hippocampus while under the influence of its neurotoxin.

Recovery Annendum XXXX-1: SCP-XXXX was first discovered by a marine biologist in Australia, specifically the Great Barrier Reef, during a routine dive Dr Mitchell spotted SCP-XXXX and removed it from its coral outcrop to study it as he had never seen coral like it before, Dr Mitchell removed SCP-XXXX from the ocean subsequently creating its bubble and initiating the creation of tear gas. Dr Mitchell then proceeded to inhale the excreted tear gas after placing SCP-XXXX down, Dr Mitchell activated his emergency distress beacon to which SCP-XXXX was given to authorities who were equipped with gas masks and shortly after to foundation agents Etsia and Rote. both Authorities and Dr Mitchell were administered A-class amnestics.

BY ORDER OF 05-COMMAND

In regards to multiple requests from researchers

SCP-XXXX will not be returned to it's original habitat in order to possibly negate it's anomalous effects, due to SCP-XXXX's abilities of ignoring the conservation of mass and producing water and tear gas indefinitely these resources are very valuable, can be utilised by the foundation, and are not being put back into the ocean. Especially in case other individuals somehow come across SCP-XXXX, therefore please stop requesting the return of SCP-XXXX to its reef. Any further requests will result in the removal of researchers from being permitted to experiment with SCP-XXXX.
