Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is contained in a standard containment box for small objects, filled with foam.
It is to be stored in the ASF1 near Site-36.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a worn out bootleg Superman figurine. It is roughly 17cm in height and 7.5cm in width. It is made of plastic, small electrical wires and faded paint.
It is equipped with a small soundsystem, a small round button at the back of it's head and a battery socket on its back, fitting one AAA-Battery (lid missing).
When powered up by a battery and clicking the button, it will start to chant "I am steel" three times while vibrating slightly.
Aperiodically it will conduct SCP-XXXX-A (recorded periods range from 3 hours to 38 hours).
In the case of an SCP-XXXX-A event, SCP-XXXX will exert the same behaviour as when its button is pressed.
At the end of it's third chant, every lifeform inside a 20m radius of SCP-XXXX and weighing more than 26kg will gain an anomalous property on their own.
After a single exposure, affected lifeforms, henceforth called SCP-XXXX-Y (where Y is their unique identifier), will have manifested weak abnormal properties that mostly do not hinder normal living conditions and are unnoticable to a broader audience.
However continued exposure to SCP-XXXX-A events strengthens said properties, resulting in a necessity to contain some SCP-XXXX-Y permanently.
No SCP-XXXX-Y subject so far can controll their anomalous property freely.
For a full list of SCP-XXXX-Y subjects, view List of SCP-XXXX-A Subjects.
Containment History:
The first recorded activity of SCP-XXXX has been linked to the capture of SCP-████ in 1994 at a suburban home near Seattle, WA. Foundation members have been alerted when a single mother by the name of Mary ███████ contacted newspaper organisations to present herself as 'miracle maid'.
Foundation Team █████, disguised as newspaper reporters, captured and contained SCP-████ after she began to shrink an apple, held in her left hand, to the size of a pea.
Her two kids (age 2 and 6) have been relocated to their father.
Activities ended with the capture of SCP-████.
When two weeks later, the former husband of SCP-████ by the name of Frank ████████ (now SCP-████) has been reported to display similar anomalous properites, a more thorough investigation of the situation has been conducted.
SCP-XXXX has been transported to Site-36 along with a multitude of other common house items, SCP-████ and his kids.
Various identification methods have concluded that SCP-XXXX is the cause for the aforementioned events.
The identification process took roughly five days, plus transportation and final containment of SCP-XXXX.
In this time, storage workers, transporters, doctors and assistants who have been near SCP-XXXXs temporary containment cell have been affected significantly.
After two days, access to the temporary containment cell and surroundings has been heavily restricted until SCP-XXXXs identification, resulting in significant deceleration of logistical work in Site-36.
On 4.21.1994, SCP-XXXX has been relocated from Site-36 to its nearby ASF by ███ █████ ████
