Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the apparently random nature of the entity's manifestation, full containment has been deemed impossible. Dental practitioners and clients found to have been affected by SCP-XXXX are to be given class-A or -B amnestics as necessary. Any subjects too heavily affected by SCP-XXXX to function publicly without risking a breach of secrecy should be designated as instances of SCP-XXXX-1 before being taken into Foundation custody and supplied with a standard humanoid containment cell. Cover stories regarding genetic anomalies in the case of subjects and of deaths in the case of SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be disseminated to the relatives and acquaintances of both, as appropriate.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomaly that primarily affects pediatric dental practitioners. Manifestation in adult dentists is significantly less common, comprising 7 of 67 reported SCP-XXXX instances. The process of SCP-XXXX manifestation is referred to as a Dentata event, and in every known case proceeds as such:
Dentists affected by SCP-XXXX report full awareness of their actions during the manifestation, which indicates that SCP-XXXX is an independent entity as opposed to a compulsion or a cognitohazard. The anatomical modifications made by SCP-XXXX are almost always described as uncomfortable or painful by the subjects, and have only been successfully reversed in eleven cases. All subjects have experienced severe odontophobia following their encounter with SCP-XXXX, which persists even after amnesticization.
Currently, five SCP-XXXX-1 instances are in the custody of the Foundation.
