Here is the first draft of my first SCP attempt

Item #: SCP-3453

Item Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3453 is to be contained in a standard Class A security case. Despite the item’s relatively harmless effects even after short lengths of direct exposure, it must be guarded at all times by no less than two security personnel and not to be accessed by any personnel without level 3 security clearance or above.

Item description: SCP-3453 is a group of eight identical rings, referred to as SCP-3453-1 to SCP-3453-8. The rings each possess an interior diameter of 15.09 mm and consist of a silver band with a golden disk attached. Despite the uniform nature of the rings upon initial observation, they appear to fluctuation in size and appearance depending on who is observing or wearing them. The bands appear to fit comfortably regardless of the wearer’s ring size, and the golden disks have been reported to possess contradictory symbols, including the following: The Papal crossed keys, French Fleur de Lis, Iranian Shir-o-Khorshid, Roman fasces, Indian Swastika, Byzantine double-headed eagle, Spanish coat of arms, Japanese Oda clan symbol, Egyptian eye of Ra, Soviet hammer and sickle, Celtic harp, British lion, Greek owl, Turkish star and crescent, Carthaginian sign of Tarnit, and Jerusalem cross. The symbols seem to fluctuate in relation to those who wear them.
SCP-3453 possesses powerful memetic properties that do not present themselves upon initial contact. After a period of roughly three months of daily direct exposure, the wearer begins to exhibit symptoms similar to Capgras syndrome. The wearer adopts a hostile attitude towards any genetic or legal relatives. Symptoms initially manifest as distrust and verbal hostility towards such family members. Within a month of initial onset however, behaviors have escalated to violent outbursts and murderous intent, but only towards those with familial ties. Tests with D-class individuals showed that those under the influence of SCP-3453 were able to distinguish between their family members and clones created with SCP-038 without being prompted. One test subject exhibited symptoms of depression rather than neuroticism, and committed suicide after fourth months of daily exposure. Further review of the test subject showed that they possessed no familial ties, leading research staff to believe the item’s intent is to wipe out the lineage of the person who wears it, until even the wearer is deceased.

Supplements: SCP-3453 initially gained the attention of the Foundation after two separate events which were the result of the memetic properties of item. SCP-3453-1 was obtained after the investigation of the murder of the [REDACTED] family in [REDACTED], Luxembourg. Mr. [REDACTED] murdered his wife, two sons, and sister in his home on July 16th, [REDACTED]. The man was killed by authorities before he could be interrogated. He was found wearing SCP-3453-1 at the time of the event. After the property was searched, a plane ticket was found that suggested Mr. [REDACTED] was planning on heading to [REDACTED], Denmark, where the majority of his extended family lives. Authorities concluded he intended to murder his remaining family members, but could not find any signs of motive or history of any psychiatric disorders whatsoever.

This event was later investigated by Foundation research teams after a different event with many parallel qualities two months after the murder of the [REDACTED] family. The Foundation was informed of an attempt on the life of [REDACTED] by her son-in-law. Due to the wealth and power of the [REDACTED] family, as well as the peculiarity of the circumstances, French authorities reached out to the Foundation for assistance. Dr. [REDACTED] was deployed to the [REDACTED] estate with a response team equipped with non-lethal weapons and Class-A amnestics. After a brief struggle, all members of the [REDACTED] family were secured, given medical treatment, and had their memories re-written. SCP-3453-2 was secured and the Foundation returned responsibility of the situation to French authorities.

This event led to the investigation and retrieval of SCP-3453-1. Since that time, SCP-3453-3 through SCP-3453-6 were retrieved from an auction in [REDACTED], Hungary. SCP-3453-7 and SCP-3453-8 were intercepted after they were reported being worn by King [REDACTED] after his visit to Indonesia in [REDACTED].
