The Ring That Heals

Special Containment Procedures: Item SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a stainless steel container exactly 3 inches x 3 inches x 3 inches using a numerical Numpad which should have its password changed on a bi-weekly basis, and is not to be removed from said container unless authorised for testing purposes by 2 Level 3 researchers. There are to be at least 2 functioning CCTV cameras within the storage chamber.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a small gold ring which holds a small gem of unknown origin and composition which changes colour corresponding to the test subject who wears it. The ring is also engraved with symbols and runes unfamiliar to any culture or civilization currently known to the foundation. The colour of the gem changes depending on current ailments, diseases or wounds that the current wearer of the ring might be suffering from. Any test subjects assigned to SCP-XXXX are to be put through physical testing and background checks in order to find any underlying health conditions. The gem has been recorded to change colour due to multiple variables concerning the previously stated health conditions.
From these differing colours, researchers have been able to create a scale which is used to measure variables such as mental trauma/side effects, physical trauma etc. The scale uses colours such as white or lightly shaded colours to depict little to no trauma, colours such as blue, green or yellow depict mild trauma and colours such as orange and red are used to depict high levels of trauma.
As the intensity of each condition increases the wearer would require to wear the ring for an extended period of time. However, there are serious side effects/consequences which correspond with how long the ring is worn.
Though due to direct command from 05-Members and Administration Staff, the ring is not to be administered for longer than █ hours. Any subjects currently wearing the ring and encroaching on the previously stated time are to be immediately terminated with small arms fire and the body to be incinerated. This procedure has been added since Incident 23-ZC, see report 23-ZC for further details.
Addendum 1-A - It has been determined and hypothesised that SCP-XXXX's "Transformative Properties" are able to be sped up or slowed down due to differing temperature. The optimal temperature for SCP-XXXX is currently being researched.
Test A – 12/05/19█
Subject – D-1354
Procedure – Subject has been requested to wear SCP-XXXX for 3 hours (recommended wear time originally 1 hour)
Results – D-1354 had suffered from complete muscle lock up due to intense muscle spasm, in addition, prior to the intense muscle spasm Subject was becoming increasingly irritated due to a “consistent, loud hum”.
Analysis – Muscle spasm was found to be triggered due to a constant and full body-scale anabolic reaction which increased the muscle mass to the point where each muscle began to connect to each other restricting movement and expanding at an exponential rate. It is hypothesised that if the ring was left on the subject, the subject would gain enough muscle mass that █ █ █ █ unable to █ █ █ █ and begin to █.
In addition, the previously stated “consistent, loud hum”, was determined to be the hum of the in-chamber lighting systems which reinforces the hypothesis of heightened senses due to increased time exposed to the ring.
Subject requested to be executed, the request was granted on compassionate grounds
Test B – 05/06/19█
Subject – D-1497
Procedure – Subject has been requested to wear SCP-XXXX for 8 hours (recommended wear time originally 3 hours)
Results – D-1497 had suffered from the same spasm as the previous subject and had also complained about the same “consistent, loud hum”. The subject's skin then █ and the subject's muscle was exposed. The subjects limbs had then receded into their own torso and they had begun sprouting new limbs. By this point, the subject was screaming in pain. Though their vocalizations had begun changing as their transformation intensified, their voice became more animalistic and feral, halting the use of human speech. The subject had previously requested to be executed, the request was granted on compassionate grounds
Analysis – The new limbs which had sprouted from the subject's torso were found to be much denser when muscle mass was measured, it was also discovered that each digit on each limb ended on pointed claws made of bone. Each claw was shown to be █% denser than bone found in average humans, each claw was measured to range between 0.5 inches to 1 inch.
Test C – 19/08/20█
Subject – D-1689
Procedure – Subject has been requested to wear SCP-XXXX for █ hours (recommended wear time originally █ hours)
Results - █████████████████████████████████████████
Analysis – Under NO circumstances is SCP-XXXX to be administered for more than █ hours. Any personnel attempting to administer SCP-XXXX for more than █ hours without 05 acknowledgement, are to be terminated immediately, refusing any form of trial and any known accomplices or associates are also to be terminated.
