SCP-5197 spotted in Champlain, Vermont

Item #: SCP-5197 "The Wrong Neighbourhood"

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5197 cannot be contained properly, as it can rewrite entire areas of land to it's desire. However when it is spotted and reported to the SCP Foundation, gates must be put at the entrance. Children are advised not to play outside when SCP-5197 is around, as they may be lured into it's trap. Eventually, the creature fade away if it becomes too hungry. It constantly teleports around the globe, so a squadron of soldiers are assigned to keep track of it at all times.

Description: SCP-5197 appears to be a street, typically American, that appears in many different varieties. It may look like a repulsive alleyway or rich suburban street, but that's just it's camouflage. What matters is that the street cannot be measured. It's impossible to tell if it's infinitely long or infinitely short. We do know something about it, the street is always a dead-end. SCP-5197 lures people inside of the street, and once they step one foot in it they are trapped. They appear to be in some sort of universe inside of a universe as far as we can tell. Of course the prey doesn't know this, and once they turn around they find that they cannot get out, the entrance is nowhere to be seen. To outsiders, you cannot see what is going on as the people merely disappear. You can hear the sounds, however. The agonising sounds. People who have roamed the streets seemingly forever, calling out to you. Your instinct is to go look for them in the street. Sometimes you hear a car honking, maybe a little chipmunk chirping. Eventually, they all die and decay into the ground, providing food for the SCP. One soldier went into the SCP and noted that the victims seem to be hollowed-out mannequins, mere decoys. That soldier was never heard of again. As for what happens if you are where the SCP happens to teleport to, nobody knows what would happen to you.
