Special Containment Procedures: Scp-XXX is to be held in a small safe contained in the center of a 10m x 10m x 10m cell that contains approximately 100 1l bags of water within the walls and floor that are to be refilled daily. Level 5 clearance is required for direct testing on Scp-XXX and while testing is in progress all personnel within a radius of 50m are to be evacuated to a safe distance. In the event that a humanoid organism drinks from Scp-XXX, all nearby staff are to be evacuated and the containment chamber is to have all of it's oxygen removed remotely.
Description: Scp-XXX appears to be a plastic water bottle of brand [Data Expunged] that will begin at 1 litre in capacity and has been observed to increase to over 20 litres.
At random intervals Scp-XXX will begin to absorb all nearby water (this includes from nearby organisms) in its surroundings. As this phenomenon occurs Scp-XXX will appear to increase steadily in size until all water within a radius is absorbed. The radius of absorption may range from 1 metre to approximately 45 metres.
Any sentient humanoid that enters the same room as Scp-XXXX will be compelled to drink from it. Scp-XXXXs ability can also activate when a humanoid organism drinks from it. Any humanoid organism that drinks from the bottle will be immune to its draining effect and will continue to drink until death as a result of over-hydration. While being drunk from Scp-XXX will absorb water in an increasingly sized radius in order to keep itself topped up.
As a result of Scp-XXXs influence desertification could occur on a mass scale and it rapidly kills all nearby living organisms.
Addendum:
Scp-XXX was found on ||r||/||r||/2020 when an entire 100m area of a park woodland in [redacted] city died in the span of 1 hour. MTF squad - [redacted] recovered the object without much incident within 10 minutes next to the remains of a human male. Cover story fabricated, amnestics applied civilians.
