Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX's living quarters are to be stored in a standard containment room, whose lights are to be kept on and off corresponding to the day and night cycle. is to be kept in a barred cage. The cage is to have suitable living conditions for three medium-sized rodents. It is to be accompanied in its containment by two others of its species. SCP-XXXX and its companions are to each given a plastic bowl, filled with standard rat food. If these bowls are empty, they are to be immediately refilled. SCP-XXX is also to be given a metal water dish, filled with standard tap water which it will share with its counterparts. If this dish is empty, or if dubbed unclean by researches, it is to be immediately refilled. SCP-XXXX's cage is to be cleaned weekly, and when cleaned SCP-XXXX is to be allowed to roam around its room in a large plastic hamster ball, along with the 2 other cage mates.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a completely normal male member of the species Rattus Novergicus (The Brown Rat). It is 28 centimeters long, weighs 500 grams, and is black in color, the standard size and color for all brown rats. SCP-XXXX has not aged since the foundation was given it in 20██, which is commonplace for its species. Just like other rats, it sports the species' characteristic horns on its head. these horns resemble those of a bull ram. SCP-XXXX is sociable, like other rats, and also seems have a favorite food of cheese steaks, similarly to others of its kind.
Like all other members of the species Rattus Novergicus, SCP-XXXX has properties considered anomalous. The brown rat's (and therefore, SCP-XXXX's) anomalous powers appear when the rat is directly contrasted with the standard of what its species should be. For instance, using SCP-XXXX as an example, if a subject were to for some reason say that SCP-XXXX is an abnormal member of the species Rattus Novergicus, SCP-XXXX appears to grow extremely agitated, and will squeak and claw at its cage wildly. It doesn't matter where the subject is when comparing it, as SCP-XXXX will still be able to detect it. After approximately a minute SCP-XXXX will begin to gnaw through its container, no matter what material, and escape. It will then gnaw through the nearest wall, once again, no matter the substance the wall is made of. The subject will not encounter SCP-XXXX until he or she falls asleep. Once the subject is fully asleep, SCP-XXXX will emerge from a hole in the wall of where the subject is sleeping. Even if the building where SCP-XXXX escaped and where the subject is sleeping are not connected, just like all rats it will somehow still emerge from the walls of the subject's sleeping location. SCP-XXXX will make its way over to the face of the subject, and crawl into the mouth. It will then chew the subjects's tongue off in about 40 seconds. Even though this action should normally awaken the subject, they still seem to be calmly asleep. In fact, the subject is unable to be awakened until the process is done. Once it is done, SCP-XXXX will crawl back through the hole it emerged from, and then crawl out of the hole it originally came from, and back into its container, and begin to sleep.
Verbal comparison isn't the only form which the brown rats reacts to. If writing, both physical and digital, video, or audio recordings mentions that somehow (once again as an example) SCP-XXXX is different than other Brown Rats, it will once again grow agitated, gnaw through it container and walls, and dissapear for a short time. In a physical writing, once the papers are not being watched over by any other creature, and then seen again, the pages will be violently ripped apart and shredded to the point no words can be made out. SCP-XXXX will then enter it's container again and sleep. In digital writing, the pages where the rat is said to be abnormal will constantly reload themselves. Each time it reloads, less and less of the page remains, with what looks like marks of rodent teeth gnawing through the web page. The page will eventually keep doing this until the entirety of web page is destroyed. Afterwards, SCP-XXXX will enter it's container again and sleep. In video or audio format where SCP-XXXX is being compared, the video or audio piece will keep cutting sections of itself out, until after about 5 minutes the video will no longer exist. After the recording is completely deleted, SCP-XXXX will enter its container and sleep.
