Tidal Rose

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Containment Area 26 has been constructed around the known perimeter of the anomaly. At least 4 members of Mobile Task Force ϱ-9 (“Agents Against Anomalous Embryophytes”) are to be stationed outside the perimeter of Area 26 at all times. No unauthorized personnel are allowed within Area 26. Personnel in and around Area 26 must regularly undergo psychological screenings to ensure continued fitness for their position.
The spread of SCP-XXXX-A outside the perimeter of Area 26 must be prevented at all costs.

Description: Area 26 is the designation given to the 5km X 2km area1 housing the SCP-XXXX anomaly.

SCP-XXXX is the collective designation given to the anomalies within Area 26, known as SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B respectively.

SCP-XXXX-A refers to a substance found within Area 26. SCP-XXXX-A physically resembles Sphagnum compactum2 moss and is pale brown in color. Bristles of the substance easily attach themselves to biological materials such as non-synthetic cloth, hair, and skin after direct physical contact. These bristles appear to be the substance’s primary method of spreading and reproducing. SCP-XXXX-A also releases spores which, if inhaled directly, trigger severe disorientation and confusion, as well as hallucinations similar to those produced by the consumption of recreational hallucinogenic drugs. The effects are reversible with time but often result in the unintentional spread of SCP-XXXX-A by human subjects. The spread of SCP-XXXX-A appears to be directly related to the growth of instances of SCP-XXXX-B, with a new instance of the latter appearing shortly after an instance of the former has grown to cover a previously uncovered area at least 15 centimeters in diameter.

SCP-XXXX-B refers to ███ objects within Area 26. These objects appear to be made of the bodies of several caucasian humans, each between the ages of 5 and 9 years old, fused together at various points into a tree-like shape. The arms and heads of the children at the top of each “tree” do not grow any hair; instead each follicle produces a leaf similar to that of the common Acer rubrum3 tree. DNA testing has shown that the bodies composing each “tree” are those of real human beings, though the extracted DNA does not match that in any known database.
Every known specimen of SCP-XXXX-B has been found to constantly emit a noise reminiscent of screaming.
