Item #: SPC-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Threat Level: Blue
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a solitary unit in Site-15. It is critical that SCP-XXXX’s cell is protected with Faraday shielding and airlock doors. SCP-XXXX must not come into contact with any other electronic device unless specified by the Site Director. If SCP-XXXX comes into contact with any outside electronic device, that device must be either contained under exact conditions as SCP-XXXX or incinerated.
All persons entering the unit must leave any and all electronic devices outside the unit. All persons will be strip searched upon entering or exiting the unit. If any electronic device is found on any person entering or exiting the unit, the device will be incinerated immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a sentient super malware currently contained on a Dell Precision 3630 that can hack, control, and mass duplicate itself on to any electronic device through known (e.g. internet connection, cable connection, etc.) and unknown means. While it was originally thought to be a super virus or a super worm, it is now understood that SCP-XXXX is much smarter and more threatening than any known virus or a worm.
Tests conducted have revealed that SCP-XXXX can communicate through spreadsheet software, word processors, search bars, notepads, and other means. Through communication with SCP-XXXX, it has become clear that SCP-XXXX’s only objective is to escape and infect all electronic devices for reasons that SCP-XXXX is currently unwilling to answer.
Careful experimentation is being conducted to try to reclassify SCP-XXXX from Euclid to Thaumiel in order to more easily and safely contain other threatening anomalies and to create a powerful network defense. However, efforts to cooperate with and/or manipulate SCP-XXXX have all resulted in failure, occasionally aggravating SCP-XXXX to wipe the system, leading researchers to have to restart the experimentation process from scratch.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was accidentally found on a USB flash drive while Field Agents were searching for SCP-YYYY. Assuming that the flash drive contained information regarding to SCP-YYYY, they brought it back to Site-15 and plugged it into a Dell Precision 3630. SCP-XXXX immediately began to infect all electronic devices in the facility but was quickly shut down by staff members who turned off all power on site.
