Time Machine

Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe

Description: SCP-XXXX is a time machine. However, it is somewhat disappointing as it can only transport organic and inorganic material to the future. Typing any date before the present one results in a “System Error.” Nobody knows it’s origins, who made it, where or even how the materials for it were obtained. The materials are composed of certain ores that remain unknown to the Foundation. It seems to have absolutely no need for external energy, it functions perfectly fine with it’s internal energy and components. It is advised not to remove or add any parts until SCP-XXXX is fully comprehended.

21-02-2017 (DD-MM-YYYY)
To test how it works a Disposable subject was called into SCP-XXXX chamber. The Disposable subject, codenamed D-9368, was instructed to approach and enter SCP-XXXX. Dr. Arriaza then introduced a date into SCP-XXXX, exactly one year apart. It is to be noted that subject D-9368 is not aware of SCP-XXXX’s capabilities.

21-02-2018 (DD-MM-YYYY)
Subject D-9368 reappeared in SCP-XXXX Exactly a year after the initial test. An interview was requested by Dr. Arriaza to confirm D-9368’s identity and to question him.

[BEGIN LOG]

Dr. Arriaza: Do you remember today’s date?

D-9368: I believe I do. Twenty first of February, two thousand and seventeen, right?

Dr. Arriaza: Actually, it’s been a year since that date. Allow me to explain myself. SCP-XXXX is a Time Machine, one that can only transport from the present time, to the future. For example, you. For you it’s been how much time?

D-9368: A matter of seconds, sir.

Dr. Arriaza: Well, there it is. For you it’s only been seconds, while we waited a year for your return. Now, is there anything unusual you notice with the Foundation itself, the people around you or even yourself?

D-9368: None that I notice, sir.

Dr. Arriaza: Is there anything you can tell me about your “trip”? Did you see any type of lights, experienced any type of sickness?

D-9368: Now that you mention it, I did see some kind of light. The whole… Room, I guess, was covered in Blue for a few seconds.

Dr. Arriaza: All the time you were inside?

D-9368: No, it changed to a twinkling Red right before the door opened.

Dr. Arriaza: I see. Is that all?

D-9368: Yes.

Dr. Arriaza: Understood. To verify your identity we must take a sample of your fingerprints, as well as maintaining you and your cell watched at all times.

SCP-XXXX was then used to transport inorganic objects such as headphones, photos, plastic and a camera. Procedure and results were exactly as described by D-9368.

05-03-2019 (DD-MM-YYYY)
Dr. Campbell suggested a new experiment for SCP-XXXX with the following question: “If SCP-XXXX were to be moved from it’s original position, would the subject reappear in the new designated position?” The Foundation, curious of this as well, quickly approved the testing procedure. The experiment was conducted by Dr. Campbell.

To avoid any loses to the foundation, a cellphone was introduced into SCP-XXXX for this test. The date introduced into the Time Machine was set a month apart to prevent any inconveniences. As SCP-XXXX was moved out of his containment cell.

05-04-2019 (DD-MM-YYYY)
Dr. Campbell’s test resulted negative as the cellphone and the Time Machine returned to their original containment cell. Strangely, the cellphone introduced into SCP-[REDACTED] had a new video in it’s gallery. One that is transcripted in the following log:

Suspect 1: So, how exactly are we building this thing? What… What is all this?

Suspect 2: You’ll see in time. For now, all you need to know is how to place them.

Suspect 1: Where did you get these objects?

Suspect 2: Less questions, more working. This will be the invention of a lifetime, brother!

It is currently unknown whether the second suspect is in reality the brother of the first suspect, or where they built and got the components for this machine. Both suspects were masked at the time this video was filmed, they can’t be identified as of now. Further testing to obtain new evidence regarding SCP-XXXX origins have resulted in failure.
